I love my Wera screwdrivers with the laser tips. I have several brands including old school Craftsman, Milwaukee, Crescent, Felo, Klien, and Wiha. The Weras are absolutely my favorite to use on anything and everything. Check out their chisel drivers with the 1/4 inch square drive hole on top for even more torque with a rachet.

I was looking for a set of good-quality screwdrivers to replace my 20-year old Chinese no-name screwdrivers that were heavily used and worn. After looking at several online video reviews including yours, I took a trip to Lowe's and looked at the Kobalt 12-piece set myself and ended buying it. I think it's a great set and I'm very happy with the purchase.

I have owned klein tools as an electrician and then a mechanic for 13 years, and i have used my flat klein screw driver as a puncher, to scrape, jack handle, to make holes in dry wall to get some cables into construction work and it have never broken, i hammer on the back of it, and no problem, i love their screwdrivers and pliers set, is super durable, at this point i still use that flathead until it breaks its a very sentimental tool that i will forever keep because it was my first screwdriver given to me by my father.

I have multiple different sets of Wera screwdrivers, I really love their handle design. I have a regular set, torx set and recently i got a HD set that can be used with a wrench and a ratchet! Yep, you can even stick a 1/4" ratchet in the back... really innovative brand.

Great video. One small point, on Japanese motorcycles the screws that look like phillips head are actually JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) cross point. A phillips head screwdriver will almost always slip out of a JIS cross point screw. Vessel Megadora are the best JIS cross point you can get. They are easy to get on eBay and the number 2 cross point is about US $8 to 12.

The craftsmen professional series with the black handles are great. Had a set for 15 years and they havnt worn down a bit, although they are kind of expensive, but under 75 bucks. Put you can realy pound on them! I have no fear pounding on the plastic handles with a hammet.

Have an older set than you have there of the craftsman screw drivers. I always found the handle a bit small for my hands. But that has a set come out again a long time ago. With different shapes heads and I still love them. I have misplaced the number 2 Phillips recently. But I am sure it’s just in the house somewhere. They were by far the best ones I have used. Looking to upgrade my tool box in the garage. So I have been looking at the Tekton and Wiha as well as Wera models. But maybe I should add the Kobalts to the list.

I'll have to check out the Kobalts. One other thing to note, the only two drivers tested had the hex on the shank, Snap On and Kobalt. That comes in handy at times.

Lets keep in Mind a couple of things. Looking at the screwdrivers you are using to include the craftsman Some have a place to put a wrench on then to turn them easier. Craftsman has the handle that a specific sized wrench will actually fit the plastic or Acrylic handle. This would certainly tell the strength of the actual tip. Just a thought.

My favorite screwdrivers are SK, though I’ll admit I’ve not tried the new Snapon. On the other hand, I’m also using the older style SK.
Craftsman are nice apart from the handle. Stanley I only use to install door handles, and that only because I still haven’t upgraded everything. But if you’re a kid starting out like I was when I got them, go ahead unless you’re mostly using them on vehicles. Then I’d say save your money.

Did you check your Snap On screw driver tips, Snap On will replace them under warranty if worn. You can still buy the old style Craftsman screw drivers, dont know if they are made in the same factory or by the same vendor- but Im pretty sure they are the only Craftsman screw driver made in the U.S. Any chance you can review the newer Diamond tip Craftsman screw drivers? Kobalt has a very nice high visibilty set that comes in a nice foam tray. They come in green vs. blue and are very similar to Mac screw drivers down to the tray.

    Which ones disappear?

Then, which ones do you buy again because you just gotta have them to do good quality work without damaging customers fasteners or running up his bill with replacement fasteners?

I've had the Craftsman set for a number of years now, and I have to agree with most of what was said here. Good screwdriver, great selection of sizes available in addition to the standard set, but the newer non-chromed Phillips shafts tend to build up a patina I don't like. I'm a big fan of Tekton but I'm holding on to my Craftsman screwdrivers.
Just bought my son a set of Kleins, but he IS an electrician (apprentice) so it was an obvious choice.
I also wanted to comment on the torque test… although I appreciate the comparison, Phillips screws/drivers are designed to "cam-out" under torque in order to prevent stripping the head … so maybe a screw driver that "slips" under load is better designed?? Just a thought.

Any Japanese motorcycle and ATVs use a different style phillips,a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). If you see a dot on the screw head, avoid using a regular phillips screwdriver and use the JIS screwdrivers which are not cheap to buy.

wafrederick vessel screw drivers aren't a bad price. $8 for a #2 JIS screwdriver.

I'm not a fan of Kobalt tools at all, but that particular line of their screwdrivers is one of the best out there. I won't trade my Wera's for them though. I've never understood the craze over Klein. I'm sure they were great 30yrs ago, but today there are MUCH better options for a lot less money.

+athhud I completely agree...I'm not actually a big fan of kobalt tools, especially the power tools I think are not very good.

The snap on instinct screwdrivers are a much better screwdriver than those snap on ones, it's too bad they weren't in the comparison. Wera makes a nice screwdriver as well. Great video as always though! Always love watching your content

will the slip on handles on the kleins work on craftsmans?

I have the Tektons, the Craftsman, the Stanleys, and the same set of Snap-ons. I have used the Kleins and the Craftsman (old and new production). The Snap-ons feel good in the hand, but the tips of the phillips drivers are badly worn, even though they were never my main set. I have abused the hell out of the Stanleys, and would still use them if they hadn't been stolen. The Kleins are comfortable and easy to turn. A good set of the Craftsman are great to use, the bad sets might as well be made of soft plastic. The Tektons have great tips and fit screws well, but the handle takes some getting used to but are comfortable.

I think the Snap-on screwdriver has a spot for an adjustable wrench, so you can get more torque than what your hands can do.

Craftsman still makes tools in the usa i just bought a screwdriver set ...well two one with cushion handles and one with old school . I know they have moved alot over seas but the made in usa are still available and they are dirt cheap compared to snap on or whatever else so if they arent up to par no great loss. .

Craftsman is now all overseas. You probably bought some NOS. If the handles are marked WF, they're Western Forge. They stopped making them a couple of years ago. Sears wasn't paying their bills.

The one thing I have learned as an apprentice in aircraft maintenance is that as far as screwdrivers go there is nothing else but the snap on soft grip ratcheting screwdriver. Every technician I know swears by that screwdriver and have told me not to waste my money on anything else.
I have contemplated actually buying one for three years because it's a $90 Canadian screwdriver. However, I got enough money for Xmas and I have found it being my most valuable tool. It is worth every single penny. I like the 1/4 inch exchangeable shanks. I was too cheap to actually buy any snap on shanks so I adapted my 1/4 inch ratchet extensions to go into the handle and it is the most versatile tool at my disposal.

I just bought a set of Husky low end set for $14 they are WAY better than those Stanley, if I had to guess those Stanley are the DeWalt drivers I’ve had problems with that ran me around $24

the only thing i really care about is fit and finish, they have to be comfortable, not hurt your hands, and not strip out. i like the snap on best, i think i have all of the instinct handle drivers they make lol i do like the klein too, i use them at home i have no use for craftsman stanley or kobalt
