I am a beagle owner myself and raising him was the toughest thing as there was hardly any beagle-specific information on the internet. So I took it on me and decided to share all the knowledge that I learned the hard way. In my videos, I cover all kinds of topics related specifically to beagles. I had a shih tzu, and now I own a beagle. I loved/love them both equally.
I have both! And they're both sooooo playful. They love playing together. But my Shih is quite introverted just like me. 😅
Adopted beagle 7 years ago and I bought myself Shih tzu puppy year and half ago and they are both boys and became best friends.

How do you get them to get along? My daughter has a shihpoo and my son has a beagle pit mix. They do play together but the beagle pit is rough at times and makes me nervous. When my daughter leaves for college with the shihpoo my beagle pit cries. I need the two dogs to get along.

I have a Beagle-Shihtzu mix dog. So sweet and playful
I love my beagle and she is correct if you are not active I do not think the beagle is for you. I got my beagle because I needed a companion during my walks I usually try to walk 3 to 4 miles a day and my beagle is the perfect companion for it. He loves I’ve even done up 10 mile hikes with my beagle and we were just made for each other. We are the best of friends.

I love my Beagle. BUT... they are loud and hard headed. Very smart, even sneaky. lol They take a firm and kind hand to train. Loving small dogs who are great with kids and other pets. They don't like being left alone for long periods. Read all you can about them. Be willing to invest the time and you'll have a wonderful pet.

Just want to share from my own experience, first of all as little as a toy dog, never think Shih Tzu will act as docile as Beagle - believe me, they are not! Shih Tzu is pretty stubborn too and harder to train compared with Beagle, because they barely food motivated (they incredibly picky about food). The grooming is the hardest part for having a Shih Tzu, try to skip brushing routine just one day and their fur could be matted so easily, also don't expect you could _socialized_ your Shih Tzu everyday by walking and let them playing with another dog happily like all Beagles always do - except you want to bath them everyday which is highly not recommended (their fur will picked up all dusts and dirts from the ground which hardly to clean and could make their face became wet and smelly). One last thing, Shih Tzu is not as affectionate as Beagle - unlike Beagles, Shih Tzu barely wants to sleep attached to your body. This simply because they prefer cool floor rather than your warm bed. Of course they will happy and greeting you when you come home just like another dog - but don't expect they will cling to you like mostly Beagle does. The best part is Shih Tzu do more independent than Beagle - which famously prone to have a separation anxiety (i think this is the worst part of having a Beagle, they are incredibly clingy). Unlike a Beagle, Shih Tzu won't mind if you leaving them all alone. Even i'm so in love with my little hound because Beagle is so easy going, so cheerful, easy to adapt and not too sensitive like Shih Tzu, but my Shih Tzu - Jorge, will always still in my heart. He passed away from renal failure at 10 y.o.

I had a Bassett hound.. Now I am dog less since last 4 year.. Very confused which is nice.. I want a small dog which should be fat n cute. I like Labrador but they are big dogs.. Don't know which to buy.. At the moment feeding 2 street dog's.

its not necessary to brush ur dog teeth.. instead give some dental oral treats like pedigree denta sticks.. its enough to make dogs teeth clean and smell free

A shih tzu is all about love. A shih tzu will love you forever and jump up in your bed at night and stand on your back and run circles around your feet and lick your face and put his paws on your knees when you sit down. Please adopt a shih tzu and give a shih tzu a home.

I honestly don't understand why everyone lies about beagles weight. My beagle is 12 kg and he is the smallest beagle I know. He is a very athletic dog and if he had less than 12kg he would be sick. Why say beagles are 8 to 10kg when in fact a more accurate weight is 12 to 15 kg?
