    I really liked the video and I was able to change my screen in about an hour and a half.
    I have a few suggestions to help out the first timers.
    1. Tell people at the beginning of the video what tools they are going to need and the links if they don’t have them.
    2. During disassembly tell people what size bit they need to use on the different screws. They are very small and you can spend a lot of time trying to figure it out.
    3. During re assembly show and or describe which screw size you are putting back and what size bit it takes.
    I think these additional steps will really help people to get the repairs done faster and with less difficulty.

    You’re a life saver! Got a used screen and used this! The one thing was, when I got the toolkit, the sizes were different from what you mentioned. Also, many of the Wi-Fi antenna screws were either already stripped or close to it. I ended up stripping several of them. Many of them I had to pry out and the last one was so bad I had to drill into the metal to get the antenna to come off. Other than that. Success and the e new screen works amazing!

    awesome video, super easy to follow. When I removed the battery cable, the little plastic clip came off the bracket and I can't get it back in. Just sliding the cable back into the connector without clipping it down doesn't seem to work as it is not getting any power from the battery anymore. The laptop powers on if plugged into it usb-c power adapter. Looking closer at your video - you don't seem to have the little plastic clip either. Is there a trick to get the battery connection working without the clip?

    Thank you for your excellent video. I used it as a reference twice now!
    Please may I ask some advice: my friend smashed his screen when the charger hit it. So we replaced it with a used screen from eBay, fitted by following your great instructions. It lasted 3 months, then died (went black).
    So I replaced it again, another used screen from eBay - same problem, black screen!
    The Macbook works perfectly with an external screen. I checked the internal connectors, no problem there.
    Some sellers on eBay list the screen as "A1990 screen 2018/19 but they *also* include an EMC number. Is it possible that a different EMC version can be the cause of this problem?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello. very good video. Many thanks.
    I have a laptop of exactly the same model. And my problem is the following:
    - not a clear image of the text on the screen.
    - vertical stripes appear temporarily when opening the laptop.
    - the video is distorted colors.
    So here's the question:
    Is there a problem with the monitor cable or with the monitor itself? How can you understand what needs to be changed?

    • @UbergeeksBiz
      @UbergeeksBiz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try output display on external monitor or TV. If you get perfect screen, meaning the video chipset is not damage. In other word, the LCD is bad. Now maybe $6 cable is bad BUT no way you can change that. So you still end up changing the entire LCD screen.

    Amazing video. I successfully replaced my screen following your instructions. My only problem is matching the serial number of my new display with my equipment. Things like keyboard backlight or camera are not working yet. Everything else works fine. Any idea or suggestions? Thank you very much!

      @NorthCamZ 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same here for me, looks like if you use a screen that came from a 2018 macbook pro on a 2019 or vice versa it will stop the backlight and camera from working.

      @MrKingss 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NorthCamZ I spoke with an apple technician, and apparently you have to make both serial numbers match. I don't know how to do this, everything on my Mac works great, but the camera and backlight are not working. The apple tech says he can't work on my Mac because I altered it myself. Apple policies, apparently.

      @@MrKingss Oh that's rather rubbish, might be a chip on the board that comes with the lcd, maybe just needs the chip swapping over from the old screen to the new screen? Not to sure.

      That might be the case. I still have my old LCD screen with me. What chip are you talking about?

      I would double check the cable. Making sure connectors are installed correctly.
