This was so informational. I also use natural sunlight plus a small ring light to film and I also use my iphone for my voice overs and I email it to myself and download it!

Nice video, And I figured out how to use the iphone as a mic plugged into the computer too, so the voice is being recorded onto the computer not the phone. I need to get some umbrella lights. Right now my lighting set up is a mess. I just have couple small lamps, and don't always have a place to set them. Got cords going all across the floor, and be tripping over them knocking shit down, breaking light bulbs. Filming is a lot of work lol

If you films at night or day simple solution is go to homedepot and buy some 65 watt daylight bulbs for you home lights 4 in a pack at 5 bucks and trust is more brighter then the umbrella lights and less setup time and a NEEWER® 160 LED CN-160 Dimmable Ultra High Power Panel Digital Camera / Camcorder Video Light to sit right on the camera have a video on my channel that explains it all

I have a canon t3i with 18-55 mm lens and I film in front of window and I still get a lot of fuzz and when I put it in Final Cut Pro in like full screen it just looks grainy and unfocused but It is focused when I am playing It back in the camera! Helpppppp

Thank You! As a fellow TH-camr I have struggles with light. I think some of my issues come from using an inferior camcorder. For my thumbnails I use Nikon. I have been looking at Canon T3i for my videos like you used in this video and others.

OMG Im so embarrassed. I've been using my umbrella lights wrong all this time. I point them at the subject but I have had the umbrella behind the bulb as to not block the light. When I have to use them on overcast days. Thank you for clearing that up.

oh my! my face is always sooo incredible white even though my light situation looks very mild when shooting. I have BEEN putting my lights behind my camera, so behind my camera and then my face. Thankfully i came across your videos, will try putting them at either side for my next video.

It's a LED video light. They're super cheap and some of them are even dim-able!

I use my iPhone to record my VoiceOver audio as well ! I use to think I'm the only one who did that..lol. It's really simple and easier than setting up an actual microphone. Saves money too if you're on a budget and can't afford those expensive microphones.

I am a new youtuber and just got the canon t5i, so excited but I am finding it so so hard to film myself. I am using the lens 18-55 mm or the 50mm lens. How do you focus yourself? I use manual focus?! or should I use auto focu? but when I do it is noisy in camera???!!! please give any feed back.
HerBeauty`sInsideOut Set your camera to autofocus if your filming yourself, manual focus is if your actually holding the camera filming.
~Use the 50 mm lens for filming indoors, as it has f1.8 aperture ( The lower the aperture number the better low light performance with less noise ).
~Use an external mic, just google " t5i mic".
~Don't use the 18 - 55 mm lens, if the 50 mm doesn't capture enough area use a 40 mm or 35 mm.
~The lower the iso the less noise/ grain you will get. Good luck!
