    • @JLM-y5g
      @JLM-y5g 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@shivanshtomar18 Can't speak for them, but I've been at it for a little over a year now: I'm a lot less picky about the movies I watch now, actually. As my "eye" has improved, I've found I can appreciate basically any film and what it's trying. That doesn't mean I have to be a fan of the films, but it does mean I have a greater understanding and nuance towards the films I watch now. That said, I have yet to find a video game adaptation that isn't downright weird or legitimately attempts to pay respectful homage to its source material; it's like a director gets a video game film and they check out completely.
      As funny as it is, I have quite literally become the one person in the friend ground that has a random black and white film on the TV whenever you come over.

      @@AndreasIreland - Well, not sure what you are into. I can offer up a few from a few that are not mainstream. These three films are from my favorite filmmakers: Another Earth (sci-fi), The East (drama), and I Origins (kind of sci-fi, romance, drama). Mike Cahill, Brit Marling, and Zal Batmanglij all met at Georgetown and collaborated on several projects after graduation. The series The OA is another from them.

I can understand that it is a more "personal" list than for example "the 100 best movies of all times" and I really admire it, although most of the movies that you used would not ever in my list. But, you have directors like Angelopoulos, Miyazaki, Kubrick who are my most beloved ones, so thanks again for this video!

      Honestly, I’ve never heard of Maborosi or Kore-eda before seeing this video, but I decided to give it a try. And yeah. It was the most impactful thing I’ve ever watched. Just in the first 5 to 10 minutes I could already tell that this will be so unlike anything else I’ve seen before, and how much I’ll love it. It’s just this way of presenting the story, the wide angle shots from far away, amazingly slow pace, lack of dialogue, it’s all just so masterfully done.

  • @Wallace08

    I would like to thank you for making this beautiful video. Its a small peak into who you are. The films tell a story presented this way that give a glance of your inner self. The transitions and music choices really invoke an emotional response as a viewer. Definitely seems like a very personal video for someone who has grown up loving all aspects of film making. A very well done inner piece of self exploration. Its not about the films being good or bad or better then others per say. Its more about how you felt watching them or moments in them and the feelings you connect with. The things that you take away after watching them. The emotions and meaning that you find in them. Personal Indeed.

    Force Awakens? At 21. Oh God. I recall not seeing any of Scorsese’ filmography apart from Silence which is probably my least favourite that I’ve seen from him. It was refreshing to see a good amount of foreign film in there, especially Kuroasawa. There also seemed like a good portion of your choices were relationship based.

      i’ve only seen a couple of the movies in this video but they for sure changed my life. I carry the experience of seeing them with me every day. Of course not always in my mind, but always with me somehow. That qualifies as changing a life, doesn’t it? also the title is “100 movies that changed MY life”, not “100 movies that will change YOUR life”. Everyone experiences movies differently with different perspectives so a movie can be life changing for one person and not for another, but i think that’s pretty amazing
