🟢 LOCATION - Wiki
Winster is a village in the English Derbyshire Dales about 5 miles (8 km) from Matlock and 6 miles (10 km) from Bakewell at an altitude of approximately 820 feet (250 m). It was formerly a centre for the lead mining industry. The village lies within the Peak District National Park and The Peak District Boundary Walk runs through the village. Winster has many listed buildings, including the Market House open daily as a National Trust information point. The 2021 census shows a population of 551, down from 633 in 2001 and 600 in 2011. The village has a primary school, two churches, two pubs, a village hall (The Burton Institute) and a village shop (owned by the community) which includes a post office. Winster was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 when it was owned by Henry de Ferrers.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
TНank Yo a lot, very exciting and interesting to watСН.
First time I've seen that pub down in the village open! Fortunately the Miners Standard at the top of the hill is well worth the climb.
Was our first time in Winster so we struggled to get our bearings a bit with all the footpaths, but will probably revisit in the summer now we know our way around a bit, might even be a pint on the cards next time …lovely area though!
@@DerbyRambles I often walk there from the campsite at Youlgrave. A nice short walk from Winster would be to pick up the Limestone Way just beyond the Miners, down towards Elton as far as the first lane then footpath through fields and a small wood to the back of the churchyard you started off from in this video.
