    Thanks for making this video, it's very useful to a new gimbal user such as myself.
    Here's quick tip I figured out after trying a few setups.
    Once I balanced my camera on the RS3 with my most used lens. I marked a line on each adjustment point with a fine line using a mechanical pencil.
    The graphite of the pencil shows up, but it's hardly noticeable, it's also easily removed if you want to erase it away.
    Actually you could do that for other lenses too if you use a number or placement system that you can remember.

      Question for Daniel: sideline video for football (our soccer). Which lens other than the 24-70 do you recommend? I will be close to the action. Not in a stadium. High school varsity girls soccer (16 year olds) 3 feet off the sidelines, as I go up and down the field with Sony A73, either 35 1.4 or 24-70, and RS3 and Atomos Ninja 5. Do you have thoughts about a better rig? I found tripod and Sony FDR-AX700 too limiting. Thanks again!!

      Wow Bodey001!! Thank you so so much for the contribution my friend. You didn't have to do that. So glad this video is going to help out. It's comments like these that make this all worth it. Thank you again. 🙏

    • @MisterHenry

      I've filmed a few sports events in the past and I found that the 70 to 200mm f4 is an amazing lens to use. (Not too expensive compared to the F2.8 either). I used it with a Manfrotto Monopod so it was easier to run up and down the pitch to grab my shots. That married with the 24 to 70 lens with the RS3 and you'd have everything covered. Using that false colour feature on your Ninja 5 will also help keep your exposure perfect too. Nice set up! Let me know how you get on.

    I really appreciate the video. I'm stepping my game up and awaiting the arrival of an RS3. I'm new to gimbals with full size cameras so I have to ask....do you have to do an entire rebalance when you change the zoom length on the 24-70? I'm wondering if you have to balance it where you plan to be and leave it there. Thanks.

      @@MisterHenry That's what I've been trying. When I adjust the tilt (moving the mounting plate arm upwards on on it's clamp arm) the roll gets much better, but then the tilt gets off balance. 🤔

      I have the exact same problem. The Roll Axis has been giving me a lot of trouble because it appears to be super specific. I'll keep trying.
      UPDATE: And you've probably figured this out by now seeing as it says you posted this a month ago...I switched to trying to keep the camera balanced in the default "middle" position when adjusting the roll axis. Then I _slowly_ repositioned the camera in the tilt position on both sides and slowly let go. The camera still very slowly moves back to the middle, BUT that appears to be the best I can get it, so I'm going with that.

      i am currently having the same issue, when i move it to either side it always returns to the center - did you find a fix to this?

    So helpful. Thank you! Well done. Sometimes I got disoriented when the gimbal was turned in different direction, but this was more helpful than the DJI videos.

    Just bought a RS3, My setup is the EOS R with the EF 24-70 2.8. Im having trouble balancing my setup with the RS3. I thought the RS3 would be powerful enough to sustain the setup. anyone having the same issue?

    • @MisterHenry
      @MisterHenry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunatley with long and heavy zoom lenses, the RS3 struggles with the balance. You can try to balance it with the zoom lens halfway to try and counter it but it's not perfect.

    something isnt right, im trying to balance the sony gm 35mm 1.4 on this and standing up right it seems balanced and points straight but it doesnt stay static when I adjust the tilt up or down or stay left or right on the roll axis and when I do the pan axis part it sways left to right no matter how much I adjust the bottom rail! help!!

    • @MisterHenry
      @MisterHenry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can get away with a lot more when balancing lighter lenses. The motors don't need to work as hard and it's more forgiving if it's not balanced perfectly.

    I have issue with roll axis, I can balance it but it always goes back to horizontal position. There's no way for it to be balanced and be able to stay in 45* angle.

    • @MisterHenry
      @MisterHenry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you mounting it vertically? If so, it wont work like that unfortunatley.

    • @brat.CineMat
      @brat.CineMat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MisterHenry No, I'm trying to balance it horyzontally.
      When I balance the roll axis it's stays flat. Then when I try to test it by rotating it at any degry, it fall back to horizontal position, but it should stay in that position rather than go back to horizontal. I worked with RS2 previously and never had that problem. I just bought RS3 and had this problem since the beggining. And the weight is not the issue, problem exists even with small body cameras. I've found hint on dji forum from RS2 users that similar problem occurs when arm at roll axis isn't clamped hard enough, but that's not the case in my situation. I'm suspecting that my unit is flawed.

    You are the best out of all tutorials. Dji should employ you as their gimble specialist because I was almost returning the gimble if it were not for you. I appreciate you so much for the simple and clear explanation. @DJI

    I use the canon EosR. I paired the bluetooth and the record button still doesn’t work

    • @MisterHenry

      Thanks so much Augustus, is there a Bluetooth remote option hidden in the Canon menus? My Sony had the same issue. Had to turn on Bluetooth AND the Bluetooth remote options to make it work with the gimbal. Hope this helps.
