Hey Drifter, with the mission around 1:20:00 ish, the reason it wasn’t displaying a dark event wasn’t a graphical bug, it’s because there was only one guerrilla related dark event to counter. That really is the case with the Chosen. The first one always feels like a train wreck waiting to happen and the other two, while not necessarily cakewalks, always feel underwhelming.
Commander difficulty seems appropriate for modded classes, as they tend to be much stronger. Most class mods are balanced around you using them in tandem with mods that buff enemies, such as A Better ADVENT. Which does give me an idea, ABA has a class pack mod, A Better Barracks. ABA Solo Class runs using the ABB classes? After your current ideas are taken care of ofc.
I wouldn't say stronger but actually more versatile. In my own experience at least the base game classes are able to easily take down even a 2x health Sectopod on Xcom's turn, including the rest of the pod. This comes at the cost of utility, which modded classes tend to have.
There is 2 things i noticed from the Necromancers: 1- you had to go for psi upgrades before hit mid game. The only downside is the last staff share resource with the Gatekeeper. Maybe Advent was right to spread propaganda about Xcom... I love how the Necromancers turn so many of the "downsides" into positives. Also for not wanting this vid to be 2-hours it seems to have went as well as landing 90% accuracy shots.
Hello Mr.Drifter I recently found your channel and I love the challenges you've done for XCOM2. I was wondering if you've considered a Rookies only/Low profile run or an Overwatch only run. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video.
Hey Rattle me bones challenge. Gotta love it. Also love the Mystery of the Druids picture even if it was unintentional. Edit: 55:39 Hey I enjoyed ME3 multiplayer...
Challenge Idea: only one of each class total (not just for missions but only one of each class in barracks)[I dunno if you did this but you could change around things if you want] As an extra you could either... A. No replacing lost classes and/or B. allow modded classes (like these necromancers, akimbo, your picks however you want to do it, etc.) plus, if you wanted, bigger squad deployment to have all at once but it may make it too easy...or worse depending on rng.
I am curious to see you run Beta Strike at some point, running with double-health enemies - but since that will almost definitely make every mission a lot longer, you might end up with a lot more slogs like the stream you mention that only covered 4 missions 😅 If you play XCom 2 in your own time as well I've found it great fun so far (taking down the Chosen is especially difficult now, with the sarcophagus and reinforcements having doublr health - never mind the Avatars, Sectopods etc...), so I do suggest checking it out 😁 *(Mind you I'm a relative XCom noob with 1 complete non-WOTC campaign under my belt and 2-3 unfinished campaigns through getting bored of alpha-striking, sooo my opinion may actually be awful anyway 🤣😉)*
I personally think that an Enemy Within without hiring new units might be fun. You'd only be able to obtain new units via missions, which could make your life really miserable. Just remember that someone getting hit while in overwatch in XCOM: EU/EW doesn't break it!
Ari really has had some unfortunate luck in your runs. I blame the failed ambush mission on the fact that she wasn't a medic. The timeline must be maintained.
Too much flesh in this playthrough... You should do a Machine Legion one, complete with SHIV's, MEC's, Sparks, Tank units (From UFO Defence), and Cybernetics, to truly balance things out!

Question. Can you beat the game using only using the Commander's Avatar? One one hand, you're only fielding one soldier per mission, always. On the other, insane psionic abilities and +5HP per turn.
Lorewise, Spectres actually are not nanomachine clusters. They’re something else, not quite specified, though my guess is they were thinking a ferromagnetic fluid held in shape by… something
Anyhow, ‘can you beat xcom 2 wotc with only kevlar armor (so no hero armors)?
Maybe Advent was right to spread propaganda about Xcom...
I love how the Necromancers turn so many of the "downsides" into positives.
Also for not wanting this vid to be 2-hours it seems to have went as well as landing 90% accuracy shots.
Hello Mr.Drifter I recently found your channel and I love the challenges you've done for XCOM2. I was wondering if you've considered a Rookies only/Low profile run or an Overwatch only run. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video.
Yes I have
Ah, a cute little dark souls reference with the soul spear ability. That is one of the most well known spells in the game.
About time I got time to see one of these so good idea to watch a new one
Hey Rattle me bones challenge. Gotta love it. Also love the Mystery of the Druids picture even if it was unintentional. Edit: 55:39 Hey I enjoyed ME3 multiplayer...
Mass effect 3 multiplayer was great fun. Me personally it fulfilled my dream of playing as the different alien races.
10:40 I have 400 hours in the game and never realized the skyranger is lifted down in the after battle scene lol
Challenge Idea: only one of each class total (not just for missions but only one of each class in barracks)[I dunno if you did this but you could change around things if you want]
As an extra you could either...
A. No replacing lost classes
and/or B. allow modded classes (like these necromancers, akimbo, your picks however you want to do it, etc.) plus, if you wanted, bigger squad deployment to have all at once but it may make it too easy...or worse depending on rng.
I actually did that with the Highlander challenge.
@@TheDriftersBroadcast Oh, Sorry about that...I'll go watch that!
Lets be honest 44:00 if anyone got actually upset by drifter taking the free abilities they haven’t watched the secondary only run
Hope you’ll do more modded because there are so many interesting modded classes
Hang on, is the resistance ring being staffed by Mimic Beacon?
Indeed.
I am curious to see you run Beta Strike at some point, running with double-health enemies - but since that will almost definitely make every mission a lot longer, you might end up with a lot more slogs like the stream you mention that only covered 4 missions 😅
If you play XCom 2 in your own time as well I've found it great fun so far (taking down the Chosen is especially difficult now, with the sarcophagus and reinforcements having doublr health - never mind the Avatars, Sectopods etc...), so I do suggest checking it out 😁
*(Mind you I'm a relative XCom noob with 1 complete non-WOTC campaign under my belt and 2-3 unfinished campaigns through getting bored of alpha-striking, sooo my opinion may actually be awful anyway 🤣😉)*
I personally think that an Enemy Within without hiring new units might be fun. You'd only be able to obtain new units via missions, which could make your life really miserable.
Just remember that someone getting hit while in overwatch in XCOM: EU/EW doesn't break it!
honestly good vidio to watch every year i know i am
I think a run playing as the lost might be interesting. Not sure if it is a mod already or not though.
Puts a repeater on a staff
*bonking intensifies*
I went through this ENTIRE video without a SINGLE aroused thought about necks.
I want a refund.
Ari really has had some unfortunate luck in your runs.
I blame the failed ambush mission on the fact that she wasn't a medic. The timeline must be maintained.
There are a lot of mods for playable Viper aliens, like "Allies Unknown Redux: Vipers". How about viper-only playthrough?
viper-only run
thanks
Too much flesh in this playthrough... You should do a Machine Legion one, complete with SHIV's, MEC's, Sparks, Tank units (From UFO Defence), and Cybernetics, to truly balance things out!
Sounds like an Admech run.
What about the Sectopods, Cyberdiscs, and Repair Drones from EW?
YAY a new solo run
I mean, why just cheat when you can cheat with both hands 😂. Another great vid, cheers mate 🍻
Didn't even know the ability bar could go to a second line.
Can't wait for the next one Drifter!
I'll admit, ya got me with the stadia joke
A neck romancer. An Intimate back massage. Sounds so relaxing and sensual. Wait. Why are there space aliens?
1:09:30. Once again, greed in Xcom can and will be punished.
