Hey blockhead I'm a new rider just got my safety course done been looking into bikes wanna say youve been a HUUUUUGE help love ur vlogs got me hooked on iron and the 48 just wanted to say ty for all the tips
putting the bolts back in where they go while you mess around or install parts has saved me from going to the hardware store or having to order more parts on more occasions that I care to admit. lol
How safe is it from water. Like if it rains and you have it outside, would any water run down and hit it? And when you're riding, would water spray up and get is as well?
I’m watching this in hindsight after installing mine just winging it and I gotta say I’m very glad I connected the right hose to the intake. I saw 2 hoses and panicked when there was only one place to put them so I tested what I’d imagine the pcv tube is (the correct hose) and it worked luckily. I’d imagine the other unconnected one on the left side of the bike coming from the fuel tank was so the fuel tank doesn’t build too much negative pressure? Another thing I noticed was that I had the same problem with the hose clamp on the stock intake where I couldn’t loosen the screw but once I busted the impact gun out it had no chance.
That Phillips head on the air intake was probably a JIS head. (Japanese Industrial Standard) Looks the same but the angles are different. Those are pretty standard on all Japanese made vehicles. The different angles mean that a Phillips head screwdriver won't work and will strip the head.
Wondering if the missus will be upgrading her grom any aswell having a bit more pep will be handy for defensive riding also be better sounding maybe even try a different exhaust intake combo for comparison?
Just got home from the Marines and got a 2019 Yamaha MT07. Thinking about starting a channel even though i have little experience/ knowledge other then riding here and there. Thoughts?
Not sure, I think the air box mod increases air flow a little bit but I haven’t looked into it too much. That vs a high flow conical intake, I imagine this would have better air flow. Good thing to research!
I installed this intake and now trying to reattach my fairing. I have 2 black phillips screws that are smaller than the rest. Any idea where they go? I didn't pay attention when I removed them.
Which k&n air filter is that? I am able to buy a chimera intake without the filter so i was wondering what the part # is on the box you used in this video? Thanks 😀👍
Hey bro I have the same exact set up with exhaust and Intake I'm going to purchase the dyno jet tuner, I'm hoping to see the install video for the tuner it will help me a ton thanks blockhead I love the channel and content keep it up brother!
High performance Grom. Woot Woot I like your videos. Keep up the good work. I look forward to working on my Indian. Shocks will be one of the next mods i do.
why do you have those tires? Love the look, but not sure if I can run on road with them? Do you offroad? Again, I love the look I just don't know much bout tires and if they are good to ride on pavement.
i just installed the air intake, zoom exhaust and Aracer tunner, but looks like im getting too much air in. anyone knows how to lower the air ratio? I did everything on the Aracer but nothing works
if you want to do something with wrapping any of your stuff, you might want to reach out to Do It With Dan bc he's in tight with atlanta custom wraps. he might be able to set you up
Hey blockhead you really don't need a tuner just swap out the fuel injector with one that can move more fuel through it on the stock tune first what the point of a tuner if you are using the stock fuel injector.
Very good video. Love the modifications you're doing to your Grom. The Tuner video will be nice. I like how you put the Links to the parts you used in the Description.. thank you.
Yo Blockhead, do u still have specific upload days? I was a subscriber on my old account (TwoOverFour) but haven't watched you in a while. Have a lot of catching up to do lol
Do you really wear your helmet whilst recording these? Lol that would get really annoying for me. You could probably use a head strap mount or chest mount for the GoPro to get a similar angle. Audio might be slightly worse though... in that case get another lapel mic
The name's Blockhead :D Actually long time ago, when he was workin on his Iron 883, doing the coil relocation, tank lift, clearing wires he had GoPro on his chest, but wasn't pleased with the view he got.
I’ve used both forehead and chest mount, neither provide the perspective ‘as I see it.’ I don’t wear my helmet, that would get hot real quick! I use a mouth mount for the GoPro that’s usually used for surfing and diving, gives a much better perspective so the viewers can actually see what I’m doing 👍🏼
How would that air intake fair against rain? I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains all the time.
Did you ever get an answer
@@ethanortega764 Pretty sure he didn't lol.
Temp installing screws. This fella gets it!
What screws do you use to install the cross brace bar? Do they come with the kit or do you take it off your bike?
How does the fairing rod go on???

Grats on passing the course! And that’s awesome, I’m glad to hear the videos helped! Ride safe Johnny 🤘🏼

Same! lol
Haha yeah. I do this anyway but still end up with a screw loose somewhere. Maybe I should lay off the vodka?

what do you do with the hose on the other side? just leave it open?
Best guide yet everyone else doesn't show the plastics removal which is like the hardest part lol

Learned something new today! Thanks for the info. Yeah it stripped out, it was much deeper than a traditional Phillips head, and it did strip, haha
How do i get it out
Thanks for the video i have ordered a chimera air intake for my grom. Im ecited to see if it maked a cool noise ore mote speed
Do you have to oil the filter?
Would I be fine with just an aftermarket exhaust? Like I wouldn’t need to do anything. Sorry if it a confusing I’m new to bikes just got my first grom
Will that tuner work for a 2020 grom as well?
Did you find it worthwhile to do the exhaust, intake, and tuner? I just got my grom about a week ago.
Wondering if the missus will be upgrading her grom any aswell having a bit more pep will be handy for defensive riding also be better sounding maybe even try a different exhaust intake combo for comparison?
She always says she’s going to, but I’ve yet to see it, lol. Her focus is on building her new Low Rider at the moment.
@@BlockheadMoto like how you leave it up to her as most guys will just go ahead and do it for there girls
Where did you get your 12 bar and peg set up?
What did you do with the extra hose you took off on the left side of the bike??
@blockhead
Because of this video I built up the nerve to try and put mine on my grom. Worked well. Thanks bud
Is a booster plug enough to have both the exhaust and air intake?
Where did u get that’s plastic it sick

Ryan Feuti Ima sub to you
Putting those harbor freight screwdrivers to work
@John I wasn't knocking him i have the same set and use them all the time
That bike you gave back looks so classic 🔥
Any risk riding in the rain with the intake installed?
Does the chimera fit on the 2024 models?
Any difference between an air box mod vs a cold air intake? Long term reliability and performance wise.

Hey BLOCKHEAD, just wondering if i could use the aRacer mini 5 tuner if im planning to get a chimera intake?
Step one: take every single god damn bolt on the bike off
Hey block, what do you do with all the brand stickers from these parts and different things?
Which k&n air filter is that? I am able to buy a chimera intake without the filter so i was wondering what the part # is on the box you used in this video? Thanks 😀👍
Once I learn to ride mine better I'm looking at one of that for fun.
Is that a bike lock under the seat?
those back black screws are hard to take out. it's torque so much for a philip and i stripped one out.
Thanks for this vid. I was looking for a step by step install
Do you know how to tune it to your exhaust and now Intake??
Off topic, what 12 bar is that?
Tip: Get the prefilter if you ride in the rain.
Hey bro I have the same exact set up with exhaust and Intake I'm going to purchase the dyno jet tuner, I'm hoping to see the install video for the tuner it will help me a ton thanks blockhead I love the channel and content keep it up brother!
Thanks Jaded! Yeah that install vid coming next week, pretty easy stuff 👍🏼
High performance Grom. Woot Woot
I like your videos. Keep up the good work. I look forward to working on my Indian. Shocks will be one of the next mods i do.
Thanks Chris! Shocks are a big change, make the bike feel totally different! Have fun 👍🏼

Blockhead Nice install. That should add some performance to the Grom. Have a great day.
Thanks! Have a good day, too 👊🏼

Yes
For some reason it doesn’t connect to mine
Sounds great!
Second to adore this content.
impressive install of the filter and intake !
it is very cool to see someone else do upgrades on their rides.
awsome video !!
