I can't believe you'd replace a Be Quiet! with a Spectre Pro - talk about a down grade, who cares about green LEDs, I thought you were a silence nut, Linus? You just killed this build for me, lol.
BlurredFace The comment was half sarcastic, but considering the Be Quiet! fans are on par with Noctua's, I just figured he'd be touting them a little more than he has. I guess at the end of the day he is somewhat of a corporate shill, though, there are certainly instances of him either omitting information in reviews or biting his tongue for the sake of not bad mouthing certain things for companies he values.
@LinusTechTips have you thought about doing a new updated version of this build? I think many people can benefit from small portable builds, but I don't want to get out dated parts. I also am trying to do an Ultimate build, so I want the best parts.
triseebee I never try to go over 80 degrees Celsius on my CPU though. 90 degrees Celsius is about my limit for GPUs. Mind you these are the limits I hit while running Furmark and Prime 95.
Your CPU will reach unrealistic temps when pushing it with prime95 and intel burntest. Nothing else will ever come close to those temps. 90c is perfectly OK to hit with those tests. As triseebee said, it likely won't pass 75c in any real world situation.
Fumark is a pussy destroyer. He won't experience that temps on a realistic scenario (check Farcry 3 Ultra 1600p full load), the CPU was sitting on a comfortable 60°C. Even a very heavy rendering load won't put this machine over the 80°C which is still on the safe side.
As for showing peripherials, why not ? it doesnt take long and its nice to see stuff you recommend. Even if I might prefer something else. I wonder if there are any mitx cases with more air flow .. any1 ? I would be scared to OC my CPU if it hits 100c on even on synthetics when gpus are running hot too with no oc on small enclosure. I mean... yes I know its fine but I guess I'm OCD about that kind of stuff and also would like to be able to overclock every compoment.
RAM - 100GB Kingston Ballistix @ 6900MHZ -what you couldn't just buy this as a pc from a store and you would have a build it yourself and the most ram someone would probably use for a gaming pc is 64gb of ram
lmao sorry man, if it makes a difference what he done for you, you just done for me, now someone else can carry it on. heres mine:....my arse is awful itchy....
Ok makes sense but you would think that they would sell it for a tidy profit. Something like the recent 4k build guide would yield some good money, especially because companies like intel provide most of the parts.
Actually, they don't sell them or anything. The parts are either reused or sit in their office, waiting to be used, but never loved again. The reason is because they are given by companies and sponsors and such, so in the case that they don't take them back afterwards, Linus and the crew are forbidden to get rid of those lonely parts in any way.
I'm a bit tired of hearing the "video editing" argument towards buying an i7 vs an i5. Seriously, how many people actually do video editing on a frequent basis ? Unless we're talking about professionals or TH-cam content creators, in which case they should look at Socket 2011 or Xeon, most people's video editing endeavors will be pretty much limited to trimming some holiday clips once in a while. I don't think this alone justifies the extra cost of the i7.
Imagine TH-camrs considering the needs of video content creators ;) But seriously you're right, most people won't care, which is why I specifically say that it's for those people, and not necessarily for other people.
Don't get the DeathAdder 2013 if you have large/medium hands and want to palm grip your mouse! Instead check out the SteelSeries Rival or Logitech G400s!
I agree 100%. I have medium/large..ish hands and use palm grip. Deathadder 2013 wasn't for me at all. Now I'm using Logitech g400s and thinking about buying the new Mionix Naos 7000 (wide one) or Gambias zeus gms1100 because even g400s is little bit too narrow for me. But deathadder...big no for palm grip users.
not every cpu is designed the same. at least i used the guide provided by artic silver for my i5. a line of thermal compound right along the top of the 4 cores. worked great
T'hat King LOLOLOL NOOOOOOOOOO you are soo wrong , the thermal paste is what makes the heat transfer...dont speak when you dont know what you are saying
Fantastic build Linus! Impressed by the punching power of the hardware in such a small form factor. Just wanted to say though, on the external expansion side of things, due to ability to daisy chain your peripherals with thunderbolt, it is just one or two cables connected directly to a Mac Pro chassis. I use a MacBook Air with a Belkin thunderbolt dock which connects to a DVI monitor, my FireWire drives and audio interface as well as USB drives and peripherals. Makes it an elegant way to plug one cable in and have everything ready to go. Might be an exciting future with these smaller form factors!

700W is more then required, I guarantee he didn't pull more then 500W. People always over spec power supplies and Linus is one of the few who properly specs his builds. I'm pushing a 780Ti and 4770k @ 4.8Ghz on a 550W PS and I'm still below 80% efficiency range XD
Rougewolf This guy might not know what he talking about here. A full sized system like that will draw very close to 700 watts at full load. If not 700 watts. People over spec power supplies all the time but it's not necessarily a bad thing considering power supply efficiency peaks around 55% usage.
Na, but many reviews do. And a system with a 780ti at full load will draw about 40 more watts than a 780. Say 4770k and 780ti with some hard drives and fans and everything else will draw about 420 watts. Add another 265 watt video card and what do you come up with.
Sean Wilson According to his graphs it didn't . It shows a 500 Watt usage whilst running Far Cry 3 at ultra settings so looks like Rougewolf is right here
This came up at exactly the right time, because I'm planning a build in the BitFenix Colossus M (which is internally identical to the to the case used here). Thanks, guys!
No, those are the right ones. If you want, you can just do one graphics card instead of 2. I would recommend getting GTX 980's instead of GTX 780's. The 980 is more powerful and consumes less power. It will be around the same price point for the cards, but it helps you save money on your power bill and you will be getting extra performance.
Coolkid787 If you're budget orientated, I wouldn't go with the GTX 980. For much less cost and only a little less performance, I'd say a 970 is much better.

linus: having dvd drives is silly. thanks for your advice linus i had no way to install my mobo's drivers since the ethernet port wouldnt recognize my modem. i had to wait till the next day and go to the store to buy one.
Problem solving 101: download the drivers to a USB. Plug the USB into your computer. Install the drivers. Can't recognize USB because drivers for your USB aren't installed? Take your hard drive or SSD from your PC build. Next, plug that hard drive/SSD into another computer (either via eSATA or with the cable that comes from an external hard drive). Download the drivers to that hard drive/SSD. Plug the hard drive/SSD back into your PC. Install drivers.
There are better cases out now. I'm particularly fond of this one because it allows radiators: www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Black-Extreme-Chassis-CA-1D5-00S1WN-00/dp/B00PDDMN6S/
Intel should be paying you. I started watching your videos in 2013 and have built ten pc's since. I'm much happier with my home built because I can get rid of all the bloat wear and maintain and upgrade my system now. No more HP pc's that I cant add too because they rivet their cases. Or laptops that I cant upgrade very well. I'm very much in your debt and thankful for your guides Linus.
RapidProgram I use windows 8.1, and the ONLY compatibility issue I had was rainmeter not working for about a week before it was updated. also windows 8 has so many more feeaattuurrreessss, how could you not want that :c
RapidProgram i know it works i had windows 8 i had a lot of problems on a laptop that me and my friends call it the heater becouse it overheats but dosen't matter It blue screened once in a while and it wasn't necesarly from the pc on windows 7 never blue screened and i had like 3 gigs of ram and 1.5 gigs were used on idle for some reason and i hadn't have any programs open at all ! i haven't tryed 8 on my new pc i don't think will do well this one has heating problems too the cpu and is not a laptop i3-s have heating problems waaaay to much heating problems
I would love to see you making a build guide for a Mini-ITX gaming PC - or just maximizing whatever is possible with it. I'm curious for a Mac Pro competitor.
This was sponsored by Intel, so he obviously can't put in their main competitor's CPUs. He did do an AMD version a while back, if I remember correctly.
Fair enough if he does some AMD builds. And yeah obviously he wouldnt use an AMD CPU on a video sponsored by intel that would be good trolling. It just seems like every custom build video on youtube I see everyone picks the I7 when its not needed, its overkill.
I don't really think that's the case here (although it might be). I think it's because the GTX 780 Ti SLI is the fastest dual GPU configuration you can get right now. Of course, the R9-290X CF is also a quite beast rig, but the 780 Ti's beats it by a bit. And also consider that two 290X will get really hot, and in that space they will surely downclock, giving less performance, so the 780 Ti SLI looks like a better option in such a cramped space (at least for me).
Thank you for thanking the time of making this video for those of us that are not all that tech savvy. I would love to see a tutorial on building a PC Slightly bigger than an X51.
Linus, why not swap the 140mm rear fan to intake, swap your CPU fans around then put in the Corsair 860i you showed there with the fan towards the inside? With Corsair Link you have control over the fan in the 860i so you could use that fan to actually exhaust out the bottom increasing your airflow quite a bit.
TheRayning well appart from the points above. even amd fan's will admit that amd cards tend to put out some more heat. now if your cramming a high end cpu and 2 gpu's in a small case. do you want the relatively cool 85w cpu or the 130w one amd has to fight it. and with the gfx card do you want 2 that can quite easily manage there heat. or do you want the 2 that are running noticeably warmer in a big high airflow environment. the only option for a cool radeon card is aftermarket which means open cooling which means the acces hot air is vented in to the case instead of out the back heating up almost everything within the case.
While it would work, I think there are some things you can change. The Z77 platform is pretty much dead, so I would either recommend waiting for Broadwell or buy the new Haswell refresh so look for Z97 or Z87 boards. If you can find 1600Mhz RAM for cheaper than that, then go with that you won't see any real benefits from using more expensive memory in games, although rendering applications do benefit from faster RAM. The power supply is nice, but unless you really want the efficiency that comes with 80+ Gold then you can just buy a 80+ Bronze or Silver PSU, but make sure it's quality. Saving money here can allow to buy a better GPU or motherboard, with a better audio driver sparing you the need for a external audio card. The cooler you picked isn't really going to do that much more compared to a stock one, so then again you can use this money to invest in other things. This is what I'd do, although it would work great, just don't expect to get any crazy overclocks with that motherboard and cooler combination. Cheers!
You are awesome. I wish you did such build guides each year/2 years to keep it up to data. Thx for the video, it made me change my idea if i want a mini ITX once again :P
Why didn't you install the SSD in the left door? I have a Prodigy M. I went with that option, with the doors being flipped - but in the end had to flip them back due to a short somewhere. Current was running through the chassis and would shut down the computer if you touched the metal.
I am amazed of how much detail you put into these videos I did not know how to build a pc so I had to go to TH-cam I went to new egg but they were not clear and they did not have humor like you Linus but after watching this video I understood everything thank you soo much dude you helped me out I also subscribed to you 😄
Sticking with the green theme. Mod the case - cutting out the logo/symbol at the front of the case and placing a green LED (or two if necessary) behind it so it glows green
He said that the logo on the power and reset buttons will be upside down, but it's ridiculously easy to flip them the right way. Honestly, if you have one of these cases, just unscrew the I/O pcb from the side panel, and you will see how easy it is to switch the button orientation.
Great video! I loved the comments on the MacPro. Here's an idea: Could you Do a Mini or medium build with parts which best allow OSX to run? Then you can have a Mac, but also you can boot in Windows to play games. This would be ideal for someone who has a Mac at the office, and wants a PC at home which can run both OS, to do some work and also have some fun.
Linus, the reset and powerswtich can easily be turned 180 degrees. You just need to undo 5 screews and the plastic button falls right off.
Yep. I found that out later.
Axel Solhall 1 year late lol but just bought a Prodigy M, mind if you share your knowledge on this? I wanna do the same thing
+goldhg1fkp what do you mean? Do the same project in the case?
+sky fisher no his name is a lightswitch
+sky fisher Yh no shit
Is this a good build.
CPU:A human brain a found at a graveyard
GPU:An artist forced to work all day in my basement
RAM:20 people forced to carry information
Motherboard:My basement
PSU:1,000,000 lemons
HDD:10 people
Case:My house
Monitor:The paintings the artist makes
Mouse:A whip
Keyboard:The brains control panel
OS:My mind
Im going to use this for office work.
i think you should add another 500.000 lemons
***** Ok
Jake Clancy Actually 999,999 potatoes give more energy than 1,000,000 lemons.
Jake Clancy I think 20 people forced to carry information is pretty weak. I would go for a safe 33.
Maybe go for a ski configuration with the artist and move to Antarctica for optimal cooling options
11:36 Who wants to bet Linus never wears an anti-static strap and just says he wears one on his ankle because we can't see it. ;)
you don't need it. Just to make sure you discharge any static electricity now and then.
Nice one.
Y10Q How to do that? I know it's maybe stupid question but I don't know :/
Not at all. Touch did of PSU or inside of case.

First build of 2014 WOOOHOOO!!!!!!
I can't believe you'd replace a Be Quiet! with a Spectre Pro - talk about a down grade, who cares about green LEDs, I thought you were a silence nut, Linus? You just killed this build for me, lol.

+Albert Gonzales Jr Agree with you. Love mATX because of its overall performance per price. But I think it will be wise to wait for the next gen GPU.
+Albert Gonzales Jr switch the CPU to i7 6700k, get matching motherboard, get 16 GB DDR4 RAM, switch GPUs to dual GTX 980 Ti or GTX 1080s
The Modern Shoe I have actually just spent hours looking for an 1151 motherboard with the same PCIE configuratin without any luck XP
is it correct at 35:38 that the 4770k hits 91C ? thats extremely hot isn't it ? please correct me if im wrong ;x
It's toasty, yes, but that is a completely unrealistic scenario- doing real world editing, rendering and gaming it most likely won't pass 75. :)
triseebee
I never try to go over 80 degrees Celsius on my CPU though.
That did worry me, 91C. My rig doesn't break 80C with p95 and or IBT, and it's overclocked. I'm just cautious.
Fumark is a pussy destroyer. He won't experience that temps on a realistic scenario (check Farcry 3 Ultra 1600p full load), the CPU was sitting on a comfortable 60°C.
Even a very heavy rendering load won't put this machine over the 80°C which is still on the safe side.
green build and RAM is red?
I was surprised by the intro.. Nice one linus media group..
Loved the Canadian touch here, Velcro. Yeah, Canada! :D
This build guide is the best one yet. The style for intro and outro are excellent too.
I like how Linus wears his lab coat while building a PC xD
+benjamin plays Linus dying or the parts?
linus dying would make for a much more interesting video though
true
+Joshverd Because building computers is a science.
He doesn't wear it anymore :(
is this a good build?
CPU - i8 6970k
GPU - GTX R9 990 TI
RAM - 100GB Kingston Ballistix @ 6900MHZ
? plz help
R9 is amd ti is navidia and never heard of i9?
I'm I mean i8
LOL
I people actually reply to this I will laugh so hard.
RAM - 100GB Kingston Ballistix @ 6900MHZ -what you couldn't just buy this as a pc from a store and you would have a build it yourself and the most ram someone would probably use for a gaming pc is 64gb of ram
Love the intro music and animation!
I just enjoy watching these.
LOVE the intro and outro :)
it's as though you knew I just ordered parts to make a compact build yesterday. bless your soul
I love these videos even though I already know everything :P
As soon as I hear the "it's not all about size" joke I liked it instantly
lmao sorry man, if it makes a difference what he done for you, you just done for me, now someone else can carry it on. heres mine:....my arse is awful itchy....
lol, i was just joking, i dont care. I just wanted to post a serious post to see what would happen
OMG, that new intro is so funky awesome! ^^
Nice build! Could you do a review of the MSI H87M-E35 motherboard?
What do they do with the pc after they are done building it? Do they sell it or does someone in the office use it?
They usually dismantle them
Either they use it or they re-purpose the parts for future builds.
Ok makes sense but you would think that they would sell it for a tidy profit. Something like the recent 4k build guide would yield some good money, especially because companies like intel provide most of the parts.
they tend to rather break it down into parts and then sell the parts individually.

+A Fighting Sheep pardon the typos, I was making it more concise and forgot to change that.
+floflorian Trying to justify inferior product, you're poor :)
i chose the i7 3770 because i got it cheap in a 2nd hand shop and it was cheaper than the i5 i wanted to buy. i bought it for 180€ instead of 300€

StSgry stop saying 2013, the deathadder dimensions have always been the same, just call it the deathadder
crankCINEMA +1 for the Rival. Amazing mouse.
the sensei is the best!
I really enjoy the peripherals, please continue adding personality to these computers instead of just a simply powerful computer
Linus with his terrible puns haha
Do an updated version please!!!
Been a follower of LinusTechTips for a great amount of time, have not regretted it since! Keep up the great work!
Nice green motherboard with bright red memory. Ugggh my OCD is strong with this build
Christmas colors.
+PwnehCreeper12 That's not OCD...
+PwnehCreeper12 You don't even know what OCD is.
+PwnehCreeper12 stop using the word OCD like some facebook girl
+Mike Messiah I'll use ocd as much as I want.
Linus, why you don't spread thermal compound on all along a CPU?
god no. pls don't do that.
not every cpu is designed the same. at least i used the guide provided by artic silver for my i5. a line of thermal compound right along the top of the 4 cores. worked great
You don't need to do that. You just need a pea sized squirt, and the heatsink itself will spread it out as it's secured down to the motherboard.
You want to have as little thermal compound as possible. Its only there to fill in little gaps between the heatsink and cpu.
T'hat King
LOLOLOL NOOOOOOOOOO you are soo wrong , the thermal paste is what makes the heat transfer...dont speak when you dont know what you are saying

benjamin parmeggiani This is exactly the same as the build I was planning on building, save for the case. Let me know how this works out!
Genral Graphics
The PC looks and performs like a beast. The only problem I have is that I find myself looking more inside the case than on the monitor, haha. The components cost about 2200 dollars, but I live in Norway so It's a bit more expencive...
well it is good but you should have gone with Kingston ram and a 4770k
So how's the 700W PS handle the 780 Ti SLI? Can it really supply power?
700W is more then required, I guarantee he didn't pull more then 500W. People always over spec power supplies and Linus is one of the few who properly specs his builds. I'm pushing a 780Ti and 4770k @ 4.8Ghz on a 550W PS and I'm still below 80% efficiency range XD

Na, but many reviews do. And a system with a 780ti at full load will draw about 40 more watts than a 780. Say 4770k and 780ti with some hard drives and fans and everything else will draw about 420 watts. Add another 265 watt video card and what do you come up with.
Sean Wilson

This is like a work of art. So compact, quiet, and powerful. Awesome video!
didn't use a noctua cooler?!?!?!!? Are you alright linus?
"I like green..." LOL
This came up at exactly the right time, because I'm planning a build in the BitFenix Colossus M (which is internally identical to the to the case used here). Thanks, guys!
This is a $2,094.96 build (without mouse, key board, monitor, and the fans)
Did you have DUAL (2) GTX 780 Ti graphics cards?
Theres no way he did
That's what I was pointing out. That's the only way I can figure the difference in price that I got. $2802.81
PCPartPicker: pcpartpicker.com/p/3k7wy
ya ik i tried but i got about the same price
2 questions: how much is this and how would I get it wireless connection and still keep it in the compact box
It will be over $1000. You can get a wifi card witch would keep the small form factor, but make it wireless
Thanks
I looked up the 780 and it was 1000
Am I looking at the wrong one
No, those are the right ones. If you want, you can just do one graphics card instead of 2. I would recommend getting GTX 980's instead of GTX 780's. The 980 is more powerful and consumes less power. It will be around the same price point for the cards, but it helps you save money on your power bill and you will be getting extra performance.
would a msi gtx980 work for duel graphics cards, or would it just not be worht it
Coolkid787 If you're budget orientated, I wouldn't go with the GTX 980. For much less cost and only a little less performance, I'd say a 970 is much better.
Love your videos! Please keep the peripherals in the video
There's a lot of amusing ironies to observe watching this video in 2019.
yeah, can you imagine watching it in 2021?
Who's still watching in 2022? Why? How did I get here?
2024 here
So happy you did this video, my next system is going in this exact case, so glad to see how far I can go with this case for building a system
Linus likes bad puns.
Do you think this could run minecraft at at least medium settings?
-4 way SLI 990ti
-ITB samsung SSD
-16TB Harddrives
-256 Gigs of Ram
-X99 motherboard
-200W power supply
-Im using goats blood as water cooling :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tell me if this isn't powerful enough. Thanks
Eh, you'll need to get 17 way SLI to run Minecraft at low settings at 2 FPS.
I think u must mod your case a bit to put in second motherboard with xeon x9 ;)
WeᐃkEnough or just make like four pc's so u can play on lowest setings with max 12 fps
***** i think that build is a bit to slow for medium/high settings. Maybe instead gtx 420s get like 69 titans x ti oc or something
Right, thanks so much!
I love how the PCI express slots covers are tool-less, yet Linus uses a tool to access it
19:02 We started at the bottom now we re here :D
19:00 I am sorry
linus: having dvd drives is silly.
thanks for your advice linus i had no way to install my mobo's drivers since the ethernet port wouldnt recognize my modem. i had to wait till the next day and go to the store to buy one.
Problem is I didn't have a secondary pc so I had no choice
arechikitsune I find it hard to believe you didn't have at least one PC or Mac relatively handy. How did you even order the parts?
From my phone
He did say that you should get a external did drive in a video.....
I remember watching this when it was posted, how has it been 7 years!!! What is time 🥴😔
Now this will be a killer build with 2 GTX 1080's
There are better cases out now. I'm particularly fond of this one because it allows radiators: www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Black-Extreme-Chassis-CA-1D5-00S1WN-00/dp/B00PDDMN6S/
+KinzixHD two 1080s and a kickass processor? Thats gonna be 750 pull, so go with a 1000 or 1200 for safety :)
but Linus green is not a creative colour
Love it.
+NatzoHD At least its HeaLthY
+NatzoHD I thought we all agreed, to never be creative again
Its okay. At least he did it on Time.
Holy crap, I love Televisor! Great to know they are getting more attention.
ok. das cool
size dosein matter right guys :( ? lmao at that part
GTX 780 TI's, perfectly fine graphics cards that absolutely no one uses anymore.
***** Exactly.
Well, the video came out in February of 2014...
600 euro here, rather get sli 970 for roughly the same price (50 euro give or take)
Frotzy Wow, They cost like a third of that down here.
mariochaosspear plus its 3gb... haha, such a ripoff. fuck, 970 sli is almost cheaper then 1 of them... heck, a 980 ti is almost cheaper.
The Corsair M65 is a better mouse imo
Excellent video editing and outro! :) I love this Linus Tech Team. Very well polished work, guys.
Dont go Win 8 what ever you do i have it and the compatibility issues are a pain in arse and some games simply dont work.
RapidProgram I use windows 8.1, and the ONLY compatibility issue I had was rainmeter not working for about a week before it was updated.
also windows 8 has so many more feeaattuurrreessss, how could you not want that :c
RapidProgram
Just Cause 2
RapidProgram
many many many old games i mean A LOT OF OLD GAMES
RapidProgram
every one does once in a while
RapidProgram
i know it works i had windows 8 i had a lot of problems on a laptop that me and my friends call it the heater becouse it overheats but dosen't matter
It blue screened once in a while and it wasn't necesarly from the pc on windows 7 never blue screened and i had like 3 gigs of ram and 1.5 gigs were used on idle for some reason and i hadn't have any programs open at all !
i haven't tryed 8 on my new pc i don't think will do well this one has heating problems too the cpu and is not a laptop i3-s have heating problems waaaay to much heating problems
What should I expect with a PC like this? I know it's unreasonable!
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-5960X Extreme Edition Eight-Core 3.00GHz 20MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011-V3 [+694]

Use gtx 980 and a ssd
SO MUCH INFO CANT HANDLE IT
Expect a mass money loss
change the gtx 780 to gtx 980 in sli and its perfect
Noah Grimes Titan Z? That has as much GDDR as four of the Graphics cards you've got there
I would love to see you making a build guide for a Mini-ITX gaming PC - or just maximizing whatever is possible with it. I'm curious for a Mac Pro competitor.
"I like green." - Linus, 2015
+TheChineseUnicorn 2014.
3800€ (without the extra fans) for this beast.
Absolutely NOT worth it in my opinion.
But hey, nice video none the less :-)
just use a gtx 770 at first it will save a lot of money and is really powerfull and after a few months you can buy a second one
ikki That's exactly what I'm doing bro, just bought my second monitor and a aftermarket CPU cooler, now saving up for a second 770 :D
been waiting for a itx build for so long!!! ITX is gonna be the future, manufactors should see its market!
God, back when Linus wore that lab coat...
Can Linus please do a build without a I7 its so boring. go AMD or something! :)
He's sponsored by intel. So, no- not really.
TheBeetrootman Perhaps, but even an i5 would work instead of an i7 each time.
Linus has done AMD build guides in the past. Seems Intel sponsors more of the build guide videos than AMD which is why we see more of them.
I like the peripherals being added to the build
Well, of course AMD graphics cards would not be right for an Intel sponsored build guide.
Watching this makes me sad, because I have a Pentium E5700 and a Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 ;c
My pc has a dedicated graphics card and still can't watch TH-cam videos. Gonna build a new, really good pc soon though.
CyberJellos yes you can, prob just need to install flash.....smh
Hahaha...no.
How did you watch this video then?
CyberJellos People like you confuse me. Thinking they need a $3k computer to watch movies and play minecraft...
Thank you for thanking the time of making this video for those of us that are not all that tech savvy. I would love to see a tutorial on building a PC
Slightly bigger than an X51.
The puns xD Oh god they are bad.. Please stahp Linus..
-laughs-
4/5, because i wont taste salami. :)
Wtf, man.
xxTacoRevolutionxx Yes i am =D
M-ursu They don't know the joke :)
So I saw this in the video... > imgur.com/D5g2ObE Then I did this... imgur.com/z0PWPpb
I wonder why he builds a PC in the kitchen?
*****
you mean replacing the green background to a picture of a kitchen?
Medieval Blast no he is literally in the kitchen of his office.
because there is a lot of room and a good counter space
because it as a counter
It's actually a small basement kitchen. The outside is completely unfinished
i love these videos, no matter how high end or specialized the build they really help me when I add or adjust my pc components.
This Intel & nVidia bias is most... unpleasant! -.-
Um no. For high end builds, Intel and NVIDIA are superior. It's just a fact.
Maybe its because Intel cores are stronger than AMD cores and AMD gpu prices are inflated due to litecoin miners?
lmCIoudz
Its been only 10 minutes and 5 people already disagree with you!
AMD CPUs and GPUs are more for lower end stuff, around $500 - $800.
Fuck windows 8
I agree, this is the best build guide I have ever seen.
Is this a good build, I'm very new to building computers and pc gaming. This is my first build so yeah..?
pcpartpicker.com/p/gssGnQ
Not really, Tell me your budget and Ill build one for you.
Cheers!
Here we go.
I don't understand why you need a sound card these days but I kept it on anyways.

Garpatron Could you also help me with my PC?
np what do you need?
Stay away from the gags, they're pathetic.
lol, and painful too.
GREAT new intro and vid editing. Keep using that style!
39:48 fail? - Is the Pci Slot Cover suppose to hang out of the case?
Don't worry when you made that joke at 16:40, I liked it.
LinusTechTips the very cooler that cut Linus!!! Where is that footage???
I am amazed of how much detail you put into these videos I did not know how to build a pc so I had to go to TH-cam I went to new egg but they were not clear and they did not have humor like you Linus but after watching this video I understood everything thank you soo much dude you helped me out I also subscribed to you 😄
More custom PC builds!! Love the ideas I get from them!!
I really like this new way the video is edited.
The peripherals are great, keep them. Also nice build :)
i like that you keep making "how to" build guides...
it is beacause i am thinking about to get a cheap strong gaming (silent if possible) computer
Sticking with the green theme. Mod the case - cutting out the logo/symbol at the front of the case and placing a green LED (or two if necessary) behind it so it glows green
I'v been watching all your build guides and i love them all! Nice, clean and great explanation!
He said that the logo on the power and reset buttons will be upside down, but it's ridiculously easy to flip them the right way. Honestly, if you have one of these cases, just unscrew the I/O pcb from the side panel, and you will see how easy it is to switch the button orientation.
Love that funky intro music!
Please make more compact builds and if possible make one for amd fx 8350... Really impressed with the somewhat theoretic science in your builds..
