believe what you want..... The part about him having it is true, just the part with the "had" is made up. He still has the damn thing. Runs like a champ for being a jumble of wires in a cardboard box, he actually brought the thing to school last year and it did pretty well for what it was. So you could act like a 12 year old and think that your meme trash. Tip to the wise: don't start an argument with "gr8 b8 8/8" or any of that other crap. Stop being a wanna be troll and get a life.
Just wondering, what in the world do you do with all of the builds that you put together? I just noticed that you mentioned that this computer was better than the ones that you used, and so I just wondered what you were going to do with the badass machine you just made?
Took me like 10 hours to build so yeah its "a bit hard to build" granted I had to go buy an angle grinder as I have 2 120mm AIO and needed to use the 120MM fan in the middle so had to cut the fan to use two sets of screws. Its very hard to build in. Im "done" but still want to revisit it as its alittle too loud for my liking (im a noise snob). Considering I got 2X120mm AIO, 120mm fan, 3.5" drive, 2.5" SSD, GTX 1080; im pretty happy
Still one of my favorite videos. It's so awesome to see Linus and Luke fiddle with the case like this, getting new ideas, changing things. I just like it a lot.
I really like this style of build log: long form but not as long form as the unedited hour+ live builds. Please do more like this I will binge watch my little heart out. Edit: oh I'm only 3 years late... Cool.
+Philip Danzinger Let's be honest if your neighbor across the street had that Xeon 2699 just 1 meter of it's front door. Would you be able to resist the temptation?
I love that case to bits, have used it to build my home HTPC, car-pc and majority of itx-sized boxes i have built for others the past 2 to 3 years. It's compact, yet there's ample room for mounting your hardware and plenty of venting holes to draw air for cooling.
+KruemelCraftLP yeahh my family dont suporty gaming either so when i got a new gaming laptop i said its perfect for work... still not the best gaming laptop...
HeX ™️ i have read everything you've said, you're going on about the 1150 socket when there was NO mention of it and yet you seem to think that that fits in somehow, no form of evidence of your belief, no timestamps as to where it was mentioned (likely because it wasn't) or anything
This is by far the most desirable PC you guys have ever built. I thought going Micro ATX in a 350D and full out custom loop was crazy. This is who new level. Love it
+MWB Gaming It only does it for PWM controlled fans. The PWM will sense if there is enough resistance (aka the blades don't move at all) and stop the fan to prevent damage to the motherboard header or the fan motor.
First time watching this. Was not expecting you two to get that Titan in there, AND to keep a cool CPU on top of the massive amount of heat the Titan is known to create. You pulled it off to my surprise and I congratulate you two on this.
I’ve been looking at this case for a while and I’m glad I’ve finally found video of it being built. A mini graphics card (1070 or 1080 mini) and a small form factor power supply (which they make an adapter for) will fit perfectly and be much more efficient with cooling.
I just completed my build after 3 weeks worth of ordering parts. I settled on the Sugo SG-06 LITE (because of internal slim optical drive), housing an MSi H110 PRO-AC mini-ITX mobo, intel Core i5-6400, MSi Radeon RX480 (reference), and 16GB HyperX DDR4 (8x2). Runs like a dream, destroys consoles, and destroys every OEM PC my household has ever had
You guys are epic to watch. This was one of the best compacted, powerhouse of a system I have ever seen. I'm doing a custom build right now and your guys just shat on my build LOL. I'm still trying to get good ddr3 ram, case, and blue-ray drive and it will be one of the most powerful systems I have owned ever. Just hate having a limited budget for anything like this. Love you guys Keep up the awesome work. :D
has the linus tech crew considered maybe doing like a sweepstake/giveaway with some of the beautiful rigs thrown together? ive always wanted to screw around with one to see how well they would work under my workload of gaming/recording/video watching/comic reading/ music/sleeping ect. i think it would be glorious.
I actually couldn't believe you crammed all that (even liquid cooled) juice in such a tiny case. Even also have watched it with my own eyes. You guys are awesome
Dude, boat anchor! I want the Spock poster! Anyway good build, but the heat was the greatest concern! I'm glad I found your site, good tech for fist time builders!
I love this case with a passion, have owned two where i have effectively the same build but my titan x is watercooled with a 240mm rad bolted on the top of the case
This is the same exact way I build a computer. "Shit! I mounted the fan the wrong direction!" Followed by, "Where the fuck did I put the screws?! Oh here they are. No I'm not yelling I just panicked." And then when it's all finished, I'll try to turn it on and when it won't post, I'll remember that I forgot to install the RAM because I have ADD and I forget shit.
I had a dream that i knew luke (idk why lol) and that i told him that i always wanted a new graphics card so he called linus and he gave me a 290x2 and even in my dreams i knew i couldnt have it lol because my PSU is only 500w. basically i really want a new graphics card :'( *EDIT*: i have a r9 255 lol
I'm always trying to come up with new under $400 builds that can play games decently with around medium or so settings at 1080p. I had a dream that involved creating a build with a nice itx AM1 motherboard, cheapo ITX case w/PSU and an athlon + R7-250 combo with standard RAM and HD. Looked like a dream combination that really made sense in that dream. What made it even more tempting was it's price when I woke up and calculated it. So I tried it. Guess how it all worked out lmfao XD
I`ve recently built an i5, GTX 970 mini, 3.5 inch WD Black drive, 250GB SSD and similar Corsair water cooler system into one of these boxes and I can say use an SFX Psu not a regular one. Also modular PSU`s can be a bit of a pain in a small build as you usually have to pug most/all of the cables into them anyway, the cables are stiffer & poke out of the back of the PSU more so bear that in mind.
I am actually building a computer in that very case and in size factor i have basically the same components but surprisingly I'm not encoutering the room problem you had!
That is totally insane and forget about Windows and install Linux Mint 17 MATE (Qiana) 64bit with all essentials and VALVES Steam and you won't need antivirus unless you want ESET.
+CreeperFino minecraft isn't run on gpu power and doesn't support an insane amount of cores, you'd probably get like 1000-2000 in 1080 with the system oc'ed
I can't belive the thermals of that CPU. I put a 7700k into a Cooler Maser Elite 110 and threw a Corsair H60v2 on it. My average temp while gaming is around 72-80°C.
the reason why love Linus tectips is I love the PC installation and I hope someday I can own a gaming PC I pray for that...... I never exprence owning a PC before I wish I had ONE.
I have been watching you a long time Linus and you are good in computers and entertaining and very knowledgeable, and you have gotten me to build my first build , I-7, 240 GB Intel SSD. Cosair 750 watt PSU, and this is my first time starter rig and I love it thanks Linus for the enthusiasm for this, cause it is my best and most fun hoby.
I had a friend that built a computer with an I7-4770k in a makeshift box made completely out of cardboard. He named it "Fire Hazard"
had.
+* “Cucumber” * RIP ur friend.
+* “Cucumber” * gr8 b8 8/8 would not believe ur bs

Scripted Cookies he's more like a dumbass....
seven years later and this is still better than my computer
and after 8 ?
How about 9 years later?
Close your eyes, and listent to these 20 seconds :> 3:50
+ProtossImba lmao!
+ProtossImba nice one!
xd
+ProtossImba Brilliant hahahaha
+ProtossImba LMAO the grunting and the 'gurhhh; make me smile xD
2:45 Maybe im just too tired but did he just call a SSD a processor?
Returacan He did.
Yes he did
Returacan Good catch...
Also, I didn't know you watched these videos. Pleasant surprise seeing you here
Returacan Do you not know how to rewind?
Returacan LOL
Just wondering, what in the world do you do with all of the builds that you put together? I just noticed that you mentioned that this computer was better than the ones that you used, and so I just wondered what you were going to do with the badass machine you just made?
Tear it down and use the parts to do another crazy build
LinusTechTips Linus giveth life, Linus taketh away.
What about the actual case though?
LinusTechTips I have a better idea ! Give it to me. :P
LinusTechTips Did you do that with the Mineral oil aquarium one as well?
"we filled those holes" - Linus
12:56 Luke's reaction
3:53 - 4:03 close your eyes
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
HighLevi
Oh, God... Lmao
HighLevi "That some tight business"
HighLevi wow man hahaha
HighLevi Hahaha thank you sir you just made my day :DD
'Linus Tech Tips - Filling Holes Since 2008'
Hahahah! Mann..u made my day!
Hahahahah
Oscar Cooke-Abbott Does that make them the opposite of Ubisoft?
***** No, he's talking about how Ubisoft just 'keep on digging'
0:21 only one bounce sound on the intro
Didn't even notice :D
I noticed too!
Lol me too
WTF LINUS? TELL US NOW!!!!!!
I noticed it immediately, my brain was just very unsatisfied with what I heard.
This is my favorite build you've done. I may actually do this sometime, it would be great for lan
SpinazFou Haha, that's a good one :D
DmcTrollz I'm actually going to CERN this October. Gotta get money to build this beast.
thegamingbroz 11 The processor itself costs 4'500 dollars...
DmcTrollz Yeah, just stack like 10 of them on top of each other lmfao
DmcTrollz lan? nowadays every game that has a multiplayer c an be played online
Jesus I thought fitting the titan x in there was insane and then he pulls out that water cooling, holy shit.
Man these old videos are so fun to rewatch :)
that looks a bit hard to build
but it would be cool to take to LAN Parties
+Gilligan I really want to go to another LAN party one day, I've only been to one. :S
+Cranberry X (Old) how was it?
+Metal48 seems fun what game
Took me like 10 hours to build so yeah its "a bit hard to build" granted I had to go buy an angle grinder as I have 2 120mm AIO and needed to use the 120MM fan in the middle so had to cut the fan to use two sets of screws. My biggest question is what do you do guys with al the systems that you build? Haha
Esteban Gutierrez I already tore the CPU/RAM/video card out of this one for my next epic rig :D
LinusTechTips Your job sounds awesome. :P
Random_Red thats because it is. lol
Now all make sense, by the way awesome builds like always
LinusTechTips plz let me work for you!
Still one of my favorite videos. It's so awesome to see Linus and Luke fiddle with the case like this, getting new ideas, changing things. I just like it a lot.
That's a nice Gamecube.
I've been subbed for a long time and I think this is one of my favorite videos ever, this was awesome!
Ldunk I agree, very cool seeing so much power perform so well in a small space.
I really like this style of build log: long form but not as long form as the unedited hour+ live builds. Please do more like this I will binge watch my little heart out.
Edit: oh I'm only 3 years late... Cool.
TIGHTAN X.. I'm punny..
Lol
That made my morning
I'm not a dog Good morning!
MagicPuffin Pls
MagicPuffin I don't ever comment. But man you got me dying my man hahahaha
Must be nice to have an endless supply of computer parts that were given to you for free...
+aaron evans Thats why someone broke into his office, because he has literally 100.000 $ of hardware just laying around.
+Philip Danzinger
Let's be honest if your neighbor across the street had that Xeon 2699 just 1 meter of it's front door. Would you be able to resist the temptation?
+1barnet1 Is that even a question? Yes i would resist! If someone has a ferrari in the next house will i steal his ferrari? No. You fucking thief!
Bboy RagnarouS I would
Philip Danzinger Make your succees like his! Don't try to steal it! You seem pathetic!
I love that case to bits, have used it to build my home HTPC, car-pc and majority of itx-sized boxes i have built for others the past 2 to 3 years. It's compact, yet there's ample room for mounting your hardware and plenty of venting holes to draw air for cooling.
I love that they just *find* things all around the place :D
yall here with xeons and i7s and titans
im here with atom and ati....
+KruemelCraftLP yeahh my family dont suporty gaming either so when i got a new gaming laptop i said its perfect for work...
still not the best gaming laptop...
well its decent its a ultrabook:
i5 4210u
gt 740m and intel hd 4400...
4gb ram upraged to 8
500gb hdd...
thats it :P
yeah but still... the best my parents will let me have...
+Spodurman I'm under 13 and I'm getting an A10-7870K system that I'm gonna build myself for Christmas :)
***** integrated r7 graphics on an a10? research first plz :D
Crazy thing is this is my daily driver pc. CPU / GPU 64gb of ram. Only cost £1000 for the whole thing. And it still chews through almost anything.
This case is a black hole waiting to form, its so dense.
probably a bit late to the part here, but, that's not a non standard mount on the socket, it's just a server one, narrow ILM :P
HeX ™️ well first off that's a 2011 socket, second off, it's still not non standard either way because it's rather widely used :P
HeX ™️ not once did he say it was an 1150 socket, X99 is 2011, the narrow ILM bracket is not non-standard
HeX ™️ well, you're wrong about what you're talking about so you're giving up on the basis of not understanding an argument that has no grounds XD
HeX ™️ you've yet to give any of this 'firm evidence' you speak of though, so whilst you can make noise, it holds no value XD
HeX ™️ i have read everything you've said, you're going on about the 1150 socket when there was NO mention of it and yet you seem to think that that fits in somehow, no form of evidence of your belief, no timestamps as to where it was mentioned (likely because it wasn't) or anything
I love how I'm watching this in 2018 and this video was made in 2015 and still in 4k! good stuff
How well does it fit in a backpack?
At 2:45 Luke says Intel 730 Series Processor instead of SSD :D
lol omg he dudn't even realise!
This is by far the most desirable PC you guys have ever built. I thought going Micro ATX in a 350D and full out custom loop was crazy. This is who new level. Love it
Look under your seats everybody! Titan X's for everyone!!11!1! :D:D:D
The Mega Rainbows I looked under chair and found 4 Titan X's but looking the 5th time and I got a GTX 670 Well...that's a drag............
The Mega Rainbows you lied! and now i am sad Q_Q
I'm in a bed so... Is it under my bed?
CZ Productions Im under your bed.
Is there a monster under my bed?
After shredding my hand on a copper Zalman air cooler... I really want a liquid one. Also, I feel bad for the tiny case.
Some people have all the luck.
+JMW Gaming
since when do computer fans know when you stick your finger in them?
secondly how does the fan stop before it tears into your finger?
plastic fans can shred you if they are spinning fast enough
+MWB Gaming It only does it for PWM controlled fans. The PWM will sense if there is enough resistance (aka the blades don't move at all) and stop the fan to prevent damage to the motherboard header or the fan motor.
true but most fans do not operate like that
i am yet to find one that turns off when someone sticks their finger in it
First time watching this. Was not expecting you two to get that Titan in there, AND to keep a cool CPU on top of the massive amount of heat the Titan is known to create. You pulled it off to my surprise and I congratulate you two on this.
I need a list of liquid coolers that can fit into an SG13 case
4k pc smaller than console = no problem. 1080p console = problem...
Bring it on peasants ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
***** yes it is
yes it is.
Pretty sure Xbox one + Gold+ 2 Games = $6000?
***** It has an internal power supply, it is the Xbox One that has an external power supply
***** I also have a computer...
For some reason seeing all of that tech go into that small of a case was very satisfying.
I think Linus and Luke just created a black hole.
12:56 "We filled those holes"
I’ve been looking at this case for a while and I’m glad I’ve finally found video of it being built. A mini graphics card (1070 or 1080 mini) and a small form factor power supply (which they make an adapter for) will fit perfectly and be much more efficient with cooling.
Anyone else notice Luke called the SSD a Processor
8:10 what the f*ck was that sound linus
His mating call to Luke ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
His im a dinosaur sex moan.
Yes It was a mating call ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Tyler Weil lolwtfthx
that is windows 10 cortana im scared she used to come out of my computer sit down and watch me sleep while making strange sounds :(
I just completed my build after 3 weeks worth of ordering parts.
"we'll wait when that new fancy AMD stuff comes out"
-Luke Lafreniere
Fastest single gpu card- now we have a 1080😍
17-05- 2015
Yep they did an update video to this, coming out on TH-cam in a week or you can watch it on vessel right now.
Ultradihno www.vessel.com/videos/eVwelURKg
no its still the titan x ;))
Im from 2017 we have 1180 24GB.
How have I not seen this build yet??? Hilarious watching you guys swap stuff out and cram it all in!
2:48 Luke. What the fuck is that on your neck, young man? Is that a hickey?
the new, and improved "Game Cube"
1:12 - Dem biceps tho
Jehan Kateli or lack of
Those bulges look pretty significant to me...
Rasmus Jakobsen He needs to go lift bigger boards again.
Crams $2000+ in a mini system, calls it a shoe box...
So, this is a LAN party killer isn't it? It can be a game server AND client at the same time :3
ManIkWeet Try more like 5k-6k... lol
Right, the 18 core is expensive isn't it? :/
Yup like 3k or something like that.
Travis Christensen He mentioned in the review video it was $4500 for the CPU alone.
It's like $7,000
You guys are epic to watch. :D
This is an LTT video to me. The new stuff is good, don’t get me wrong, but this stuff is great
That's a very dense box of money you have there.
7 grand? More?
Good lord. Still want it. Thanks for doing the legwork for me.
Stewart Heckenberg Not to bad when the CPU alone is 4600$. So that's 3K for the rest of the build!
GAMING WITH BJH Looking at prices now vs when this video came out. Come on.
has the linus tech crew considered maybe doing like a sweepstake/giveaway with some of the beautiful rigs thrown together? ive always wanted to screw around with one to see how well they would work under my workload of gaming/recording/video watching/comic reading/ music/sleeping ect. i think it would be glorious.
Luke said 730 series "processor" not "SSD"
And next, they'll put a 980 ti in a laptop!
+Jack Katogh MSI done it first. Hahaha
+Syafiq Zaidi 980* But still damn impressive for a laptop :)
+Syafiq Zaidi
Actually Eurocom did it first.
Okay, I'm done.
I actually couldn't believe you crammed all that (even liquid cooled) juice in such a tiny case. Even also have watched it with my own eyes.
You guys are awesome
So...This rig costs like 6500$
Mr Wesp yep if you wanted to splash a little you could always buy this www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/viewCart.asp?cs=1
no im not it was meant as a joke dumbass
matthew Colquhoun well... it wasn't funny
Mr Wesp its 8550 dollars
And I just have a shoebox...
Dude, boat anchor! I want the Spock poster! Anyway good build, but the heat was the greatest concern! I'm glad I found your site, good tech for fist time builders!
But the question remains unanswered.... Can it run minecraft?
Shafaat Hussain The real question is when do you hit FPS death in Dwarf Fortress.
+Shafaat Hussain You misspelled "minesweeper".
+ProdigyFlynn minecraft*
+Joseph Bissett no when do you hit 30fps in club penguin
+Shafaat Hussain run minecraft with shaders and a bazzillion mods and it honestly won't!
ONLY 2 SLOTS ...... and still 32 gigs...... I have one stick of 4 gb fuck sake linus
i have 2 of 2 and still have 2 slots so i'm going to buy 2 more of 2
there are 64 GB LRDIMM sticks which are possibly compatible with this mobo, giving 128 GB RAM :-)

I'm guilty of dreams like those too lol. I dreamt I found a basement filled with GTX 980's. Needless to say, I took four. We can dream right?! :)
***** yeah my case only fits cards that are 10 inches or less so i cant even dry dream that far lol
Robert Gonzalez i once had a dream that everyone gave me titans for my birthday xD
Robert Gonzalez haha lool
I'm always trying to come up with new under $400 builds that can play games decently with around medium or so settings at 1080p. +Julian Hill wd black drive is 2tb right or is it 1tb just faster than the blue
I used 3.5 inch 2 TB one although They are also available in 1, 3 & 4 TB I think ? & yeah bit more expensive & faster than the Blue
Why are they uploading things this late?
They probably upload for the time zone of their biggest demographic. Aka not the time zone you or me are in lmao.
Twixinator101 They upload at midnight PST.
Twixinator101 why are they uploading things so early its 4:00 AM where i am
Dino Barberino where is their biggest demographic? I thought it would be the US because... Well.. US.
Contract with vessel.......
this is an expensive minesweeper machine
I am actually building a computer in that very case and in size factor i have basically the same components but surprisingly I'm not encoutering the room problem you had!
Hey Linus, can I have one of your spare Titan Xs'? Cmon please?
Lmfao
anson huang Yes pls
anson huang Don't give my hopes up :(
anson huang haha I was just joking around but thanks for the offer :D it'd be a cold day in hell before someone actually gave me a titan X lol
+anson huang I'll take it! :D
What smart watch does Linus use? Thank you in advance :)
John Martins Pebble Steel
0M9H4X thanks :D
John Martins What was the smart watch? The comment is gone.
Its7up "Pebble Steel". The comment is still up.
luke with the sound effects he makes for the ram's module lay-out, screams retro gamer
That is totally insane and forget about Windows and install Linux Mint 17 MATE (Qiana) 64bit with all essentials and VALVES Steam and you won't need antivirus unless you want ESET.
And if someone wants Windows on it?
Not all game in entire Steam library has made for Linux but all of games can run with Windows
+Eugene Yau Wine is a DirectX emulator for Linux... soo.
+Logan Hamilton neither is it emulating directx, nor is it an emulator at all lol
+Logan Hamilton W.I.N.E. = WINE is not an emulator (seriously that's what wine stands for)
that lil tiny baby is like 20x more powerful than my rig RIP
Simply awesome... doing this for my next build! LOVE YOU GUYS!
Why Xeon in a gaming build. The majority of those cores won't even be used
Look at the description. It says or ANYTHING
aldo arip not really anything. Xeons are only good for workstations
Wawaweewa Rice clearly not, it owned the gaming benchmarks
LasermanSteam obviously with a titan x it performs good... Would have done better with a 4790k
Wawaweewa Rice "The objective of the video is as much power in as little space as possible". Linus said this the first 7 seconds of the video.
#4500 dollar gaming pc in a shoe box
Firal Rally Its probably around a $6000 pc ($4500 cpu, $1000 gpu and everything else)
English pounds is £ not #
SpinazFou that is because you have a US Keyboard
Another word for # is pound... So yeah... -_-
SpinazFou The world ''dollar'' is associated with USD not the British pound
I would love to build a system like that, its so deceptively small yet kicks ass and it looked so much fun to build :D.
Console noobs crying now

The Leithal Gamer PC MASTERRACE
and now they put 2 980's in a trash can..
Can it run minecraft?
Lol maybe... At like 400 FPS
^if you're running 9 4K monitors. Lol
+david pr try 3000
Highest settings w/shaders and ultra HD packs 4k 1000000000 frames per second.
That's my estimate...
+CreeperFino minecraft isn't run on gpu power and doesn't support an insane amount of cores, you'd probably get like 1000-2000 in 1080 with the system oc'ed
The proccesor is 6k$ -__-
+RaiserGT 4500*
Price depends on where you live, GhVxBL4DE
This would be beneficial to my room, not only because of the insane amount of hardware but more how compact it is.
Anybody from 2022?
2024
That CPU costs like 4 grand..
What an awesome little build. Currently working on a similar system with a modest i7 8700 and a GTX 1070 and 32GB RAM.
Hey Linus,
Could you send me this PC?
I need it for developing Half Life 3.
Thank you in advance,
Gabe Newell.

My current build wipes the floor with this and it all fits into a mini itx case.
I can't belive the thermals of that CPU. I put a 7700k into a Cooler Maser Elite 110 and threw a Corsair H60v2 on it. My average temp while gaming is around 72-80°C.
Way to go guys I feel like every once and a while you gotta get a little crazy to keep things awesome. Def enjoyed watching.
ahh i miss these type videos
the reason why love Linus tectips is I love the PC installation and I hope someday I can own a gaming PC I pray for that...... I never exprence owning a PC before I wish I had ONE.
Best pc build ever. This is like the third time I've watched this.
Make that four.
Make that five times.
Idk why, but this is still my favorite LTT video
I have been watching you a long time Linus and you are good in computers and entertaining and very knowledgeable, and you have gotten me to build my first build , I-7, 240 GB Intel SSD. Cosair 750 watt PSU, and this is my first time starter rig and I love it thanks Linus for the enthusiasm for this, cause it is my best and most fun hoby.
0:21 THE ORANGE PIXEL DIDN'T MAKE SOUND A SECOND TIME THAT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow ive always thought about how much wasted space there is in computers and now im satisfied
Probably the best part of building an ITX. Getting all stuff fit inside with that little space. ITX building is the endgame.
i´m sure that every single person in the world hates Linus, but his work is so good that we love him
I got that processor. and when i do a stress test for my computer, it handles it very well.
