    When LCD on actual feed rate is increased to 25 percent of basic feed rate. Not 125 percent.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Aness, when the LCD is ON, the actual feed rate will be increased to 125%. Meaning additional 25% from the 100% actual feed rate when LCD is OFF.
      Actually, it is not based on the basic feed rate. The basic feed rate could be your actual feed rate if the min feed rate setting is lower.
      The actual feed rate has a calculation and it has also a rule of which ever is higher with the min feed rate.
      Also depending on where you have made the setting, wether on the feed rate adjust factor or on the running In. Should you have any clarification, feel free to leave your comment.

    Chief Good day. ask ko lang po pag mag running po bago ang piston rings .pag mag running in inaadjust din yong sa Running sa baba o sa Feds rate factor adjustment lang ang inaadjust po. salamat sa advise God bless. Safe sailing everyone

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello RSZ, salamat sa tanong mo. actually sa manual ng Mitsui MAN B&W nakalagay na ang adjustment after overhaul ay sa Running IN, while sa cylinder feed rate reduction feed rate guidance, naka lagay na Running IN should be OFF forever. While sa Hitachi ay iba din naman. According to the Maker, either way ay pwede, pwedeng sa Feed rate adjust factor or sa running IN. In our company, our practice is sa Feed rate adjust factor which is okay naman sa engine maker/Engrs where in frequently we are having training with them. Kung sa Running In ka mag adjust, what ever your setting for that cylinder will be your actual feed rate while kung sa Feed rate adjust factor, your actual feed rate will be Feed rate adjust factor x nominal/basic feed rate. I would rather suggest to adjust sa Feed rate adjust factor.🙂

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello Chard, actually pwede din naman, however it overrides yong calculation ng actual feed rate. Kung anong setting mo kasi sa Running In, yon din ang actual feed rate mo regardless kung magpalit ka ng sulfur content. Siguro kung iisang klaseng fuel lng ang gamit nyo till reaching the 500 hrs after overhaul ay pwede din naman, pero kung kung mag iba kau ng fuel lalo na kung higher sulfur, then might be your setting ay kulang. We would rather suggest to make the adjustment sa feed rate adjust factor.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Elmir, good afternoon too. Anong ibig mong sabihin, sa Lube oil feed rate ba, tungkol ba sa LO purifier? Kasi kung sa ME system oil, walang design feed rate kundi pressure lang. Pero kung ang ibig mong sabihin ay sa LO purifier, there is no such certain percentage of feed rate, the lower the better. Then keeping at recommended oil temp to lower the oil viscosity for better purification.

      @@marinerealtalk8683I think he means.... How you got the feed rate factor of 0.4 ?

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Elton, for hitachi MAN B&W, right after the sea trial normally set na ng Maker ang feed rate factor to min of 0.40 as per owners request. Pero actually may calculation sya kung bakit at pano. Sa Mitsui MAN B&W initially ang feed rate factor ay depende sa Cylinder oil na gamit, either BN40, BN70 or BN100. May mga vessel na sa makers manual sa cylinder oil reduction period ay wala sa table ang BN70, normally ay BN40 at BN100. Therefore yong reduction period ng feed rate factor ay kailangan calculate. Ex: 40/70x100=0.57 at 0-100Hrs. Then gradually the feed rate factor is being adjusted depending on the RH, but take note that reduction of feed rate should only be done after confirming the satisfactory condition of your cylinder. Makikita mo din sa manual same wordings.🙂 Kung meron pang di malinaw, feel free to comment.🙂

      Hello Hilgardo, sorry for the late reply. So ang ME nyo pala is MC-C and using VLSFO. Actually, when VLSFO has stated to use, there was no certain calculation para sa feed rate kasi dipa alam ang effect sa makina kaya nag increase tau ng about 1.3 from normal na 1.0gkw/h. Then depending on the actual observation, maker's advice na pwede nating reduce providing with satisfactory condition ang cylinder particularly the liner.
      In case newly overhauled piston, increase to 150% then gradually decrease till reaching the normal or minimum feed rate upon reaching 500HR. But according to manual, reduction of feed rate should only after confirming the satisfactory condition of the cylinder. So very important ng inspection. In the case of long voyage and inspection will not be feasible, I would recommend to just gradually decrease in an interval of every 48hrs, same instruction I normally given to our managed vessels.

      Hello Chief, sorry ngaun ko lng nasagot tanong mo, akala ko nasagot ko na last time. Upon reviewing, walang reply.

  • @박기철-i8p
    @박기철-i8p ปีที่แล้ว

    Sir, I have a question. When the ship's engine is using VLSFO(sulphur content is less than 0.5%), still would it be better to use TBN70 Cylinder oil but decrease the feed rate than using HSFO? Or using TBN40 cylinder oil would be better? Cause, I know that TBN(CaCO3) is also used for removing carbon sludges from fuel oil and other functions(Of course, I also know that if there are too much CaCO3, the sludge from itself would harm the piston and cylinder liner). So sometimes I still have questions to myself that would it be better to use TBN70?

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for the interest on this matter. Actually you are right that higher BN is more effective in cleaning purposes having a higher cleaning ability. On the other hand, the lubricant's BN measures its ability to neutralize acidic products of combustion, which are caused by the sulfur in the fuel. It is therefore, the higher sulfur content of the fuel, is recommended to use a higher BN.
      Using oil with too high BN could lead to deposits on the engine combustion components that can cause wear or scuffing. Due to issue of cleaning and acid neutralization. Some oil companies has now the type of oil that is applicable for HSFO and even for VLSFO, no need to change.🙂

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Ruel, VLSFO ba o LSMGO? Kung VLSFO, enter mo lang ang sulfur content sa MOP and it will automatically calculate para sa basic or nominal feedrate. If ever mas mababa sya sa min feed rate, your basic feed rate or nominal feed rate will be the min feed rate. But take note, if VLSFO, normally is using different grade of Cylinder oil. Pero meron ding cylinder oil na applicable even sa HSFO and VLSFO. If sa LSMGO, actually same din pero kung about 24hr or less lng naman ang consumption, pwede na ding wag mo ng palitan setting.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jeoffrey, if I'm not mistaken para ito sa bagong overhaul mong cylinder. Actually pag sa running IN ka nag input, it override yong calculation na feedrate adjust factor x basic feed rate. What ever input mo sa running In will the the same sa magiging actual feed rate ng cylinder na yon. Though in the manual mababasa natin na sa running In mag adjust pag nag overhaul, you can alo reconfirm on the cylinder oil reduction guide kung may naka sulat na Running In should be OFF forever. If ever meron, then your adjustment sa bagong over haul mo ay sa feed rate adjust factor instead sa running IN.

      Hi sir..Makita Mitsui ang engjne namin pag nag overhaul kami ng piston palit ang piston rings..nakagawuan na namin don kami sa Running In kami nag aadjust..hanggang matapos ang Running In Period sa awa ng diyos okey naman ang mga piston rings during inspection.

    • @marinerealtalk8683
      @marinerealtalk8683  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello Chard, actually, ok din naman sa running IN, steady ang feed rate mo kahit na mag bago ka ng sulfur content. However, kung galing ka ng medyo mababang sulfur then will use a higher sulfur, normally it requires a bit more feed rate (actual feed rate) at yon ay auto calculated if sa feed rate adjust factor ka nag set. Remember, even the Maker says that the reduction period written in the manual is just a guide and it doest mean to presicely follow. The adjustment/reduction should be after confirming the satisfactory condition of your cylinder.
