Also I’d like to add up the lashing wire are tied onto the bolt head in such a way that they’d avoid slackening of either of the bolts which are tied in pair!!! Very informative video sir!! Looking forward to sail with you as even I’m from BSM, sailing as JE. Thanks a lot for the information sir, very helpful and useful
sir, good day. take my regards. if i inspect scavenge trunk, and find that, one specific unit has too much oil+sludge accumulation inside the scavenge trunk comapre to other units. what could be the reason? why too much accumulation or how the oil is coming?
Thanx for your query sir... Accumulation of sludge depends on hw speed and load the engine s running. Usually u can hv visual inspection on Accumulation. If you find abnormal sludge that may be due to * Drain line could b clogged. * Fuel injection is not proper * Fuel injecttor leaking. * improper tightening of fuel injectors. Hope this reply will satisfy your query
sir why there is relief valve inside the scavenge reciver there will be always low pressure inside while running.how will the receiver will pressurize?
Well done 2nd sahab ...Really appreciate. One more request kindly share the video of fuel pump high pressure pipe to the injector, how to over hauled, what needs to check and what measurements are to be taken . Love ,respect from Pakistan Regards Sultan Hussain 1st Engineer.
Nice video sir , 👌 piston skirt and piston nuts and bolts are torque tightened , in which model and make Hydraulic tightened sir ? Information is good would like to know that sir , thanq very much for your support to all levels in Marine Engineering , good energetic person 👍
@@marine-knowledge-basha I see, I ask because I heard a story of some guy getting stuck in there and apparently he died from high pressures and overheating
@@mwbgaming28 sir in this case the guy must have been inside the chamber because of intentional or accidental closing of scavenge door without inspecting for any person inside.
@@marine-knowledge-basha he went in there without telling anyone and someone closed the door on him, the captain though he left the ship and was ditching work, so he started the engine and the ship departed on a trip that took a few days (they were going to a dry dock or something for major maintenance) and they found the guy dead in the air scavenging receiver Do you think it was temperature or pressure that ended up killing him? (Seeing as the combustion chambers are directly exposed, I would think it would be both)
sir, i am a cadet. may i ask you a question about liner wear? is adhesive/scuffing wear and micro seizure on liner surface is same? or adhesive wear and micro seizure different case?
thanks for your good question sir.. * Adhesive wear is caused by loss of oil film and leads to piston and liner to have metal to metal contact that may reach to localised welding and leads to scuffing.. * Abrasive wear is caused mostly by cat fines which is contaminated in fuel oil. This leads to rubbing of Abrasive wear can be caused by hard asperities in the components rubbing against each other or by hard particles from contaminants such as catalyst fines (cat fines) from fuel oil. These hard particles embed themselves into the piston ring and/or liner surface and breach the oil film, thus abrading the surfaces and wearing them down in high speed. * Micro seizure indicates the beginning of wear and can be rectified by increasing the cylinder oil feed rate. I beleive this reply will satisfy your query,
Sir, thanks for the video. I have a question btw. Where can I get the measuring device for piston ring wear? Like how can I get that device which can let me know alu-coating and cermet-coating wearness?
Nice sir but try to do dubbing after shoot. Which we can clearly what you are telling. Don't mistake me sir , now it is really testing my patience. Please consider this.
Sir.. H5 type piston rings come with al and ceremot coating.. This type of piston rings are used in latest ME engines. Hope this reply will satisfy your query

What's the average pressure and temperature in there while the engine is running and the turbo is spooled up?
It's average pressure is around 1 bar when aux blower is not running...
