I see the Rhythm like a standalone Maschine Mikro... I like it...

Love your videos on the Circuit Rhythm. Definitely going to get one. One question I have is how to name samples you record into the rhythm? If I record a sample from my drum machine can I use components to name the samples or would I need to download the samples to my PC rename it and then reload them into components?
Question Gabe--- when you make a pack, you have 128 total slots, about 3.8 minutes. Components shows "Page 1-4".. but, you have 8 tracks. So, when you load your pack, how do you know which samples are on Track 1, Track 2, etc? Is it like this: Page 1 (32 slots)-- 1-16 is Track 1, 17-32 is Track 2? Any clarification is appreciated. Thanks so much!
The way Components arranges samples across Pages 1-4 is odd, because in Circuit Rhythm samples are arranged across Pages 1-8 (16 samples per page, arranged on bottom two rows). It’s slightly confusing at first, but once you load a pack the first time it clicks.
Quick question, is there a way to set defaults for a sample? Like what the note is or what the tempo is?
Let’s say you had a small drum loop you’re transferring over from the pc, and the loop is say 100bpm. Is there a way to make it play properly at 100bpm one it’s on the circuit?
Likewise if you sampled a C note, is there a way for the circuit to know it’s C so you can play the note properly in note mode?

Quick question: can the individual samples loaded into the Circuit Rhythm be triggered by external devices via MIDI in? Sorry if I missed that in one of your videos
Yeah I think they can but each track is a different midi channel I used the first track to trigger a few sounds into the sequencer from the Yamaha DJx I just got the rhythm few days ago and I only tested afew minutes trough midi but yeah it seemed to trigger individual notes
So if I have a drumbrute and 3 synths, this would be a good brain. But is it only for triggering samples you create or can you build full tracks on it?
Can you just connect an instrument, hit a note or phrase and start using the unit? Or, do you have to use the computer software and flash card? You move sooo fast on this topic that it seems like so much is assumed. For example you take about threshold but how do you know what the pad is for doing that (as it isnt labelled threshold")?
Threshold is the choke button when in sample mode. It's not labeled but after looking it up a time or two it should become muscle memory. Also, if you will use Threshold all the time leave it on. Idk if it is on by default or if it needs to be turned on or if it needs to be turned on for every pack or project but certainly once it is on in project it should stay on in that project at least. Don't have one yet but I've e watched hours of videos on it.

@@jeffduponte1418 do not feel dumb in this day and age having no screen is kind of crazy and really not having certain functions labelled is going to be confusing. You want to hear dumb i will ask you questions about DAWS
i’d love to see somebody compare this and the Korg Microsampler. Go take a look at it and tell me it doesn’t shit over everything that’s been released in the last 10 years?! I know it had its flaws but it seems to knock other performance samplers out of the park for features? I want one!!! Somebody tell me why they are supposedly so bad??
Wait. I just checked out the Korg Microsampler over at bad gear and it has a plethora of shortcomings. It even looks bad. Are you happy with it?
Is there a way to rearrange or delete packs if not there should be. Also would be handy if they had a page displaying what track are loaded where as the only way to see this is to click "send to circuit rhythm"
How would you put a microphone directly in? I have tried with adapters and it sounds super distorted, even with an impedance converter. Any thoughts? I've only ever seen instrument/line input in every example video I can find, which shocks me. People are not using this to its full potential without the character of vocal transients.

Im curious, how do samples behave with scene change? Im struggling to figure out how the circuits decide to scene change. Is it the by the longest pattern/track/sample or by the next beat played? Its very confusing
I'm in need of some major help I got my novation rhythm the other day an mines played sounds with no problem, now that I registered mines on the novation website now it won't play any sounds like the demos nothing....and I can't download the packs
Can I connect the "Sample In" port to my PC? So that I can capture sample sound from my PC.
Is it possible to record from external audio and listen to the beat at the same time? Imagine I want to record a bass line while listening to the actual beat.

I'm just starting with this. But can you only have the standard pack without the SD expansion. Because I can't seem to upload a second pack besides the one that came on with it.
Without an sd card it only holds one pack at a time. I don't know if you can replace the factory pack with another one.
Hey, does anyone know if Circuit Rhythm recieves MIDI trigger messages? Could you, for example, trigger the samples with external MIDI gear (sequencer, keyboard, etc.)?
Sorry if the question is a bit basic, but I went through the manual and programmers guide and found no straight answer.
Strange how little info is available about this. I'm sure you've found the answer by now, but yes, you can trigger samples, pitched, from and external midi device. Using a keystep pro I've also been able to manipulate the master (DJ) filter and start/stop an already selected project. The MIDI chart is extensive but the main rub I have is one-sample-per-MIDI-channel. This was a worthwhile exploration on it's own, but I discovered Sample Arpeggios! Huh. i notice that the LED don't flicker on camera. the tracks does, so does the mpc and the pioneer 1000, not the denon or the maschine. higher quality led? settings on your camera?
That's not anything inherent to the device, I just recently got a plugin that removes flicker. I don't think the flickering on camera is indicative of quality, a lot of LEDs just do that depending on camera settings.

It does! As long as you don't bump into the sample time limit, you can get a lot of versatility out of one pack.

my dumb a** went and bought a 256gb micro sd, after further research I found out just under 1gb is needed but that's kinda vague. do you know if more than 1 gb would even be able to be used? is 1gb the minimum or the cap? by the way great content and jams keep it up dude!
Rhythm packs tend to be pretty small so I don't think much more than 1 gig will be necessary. Less is probably fine too. If you want to test it, you could make a Rhythm pack with Components and see how big it is, then multiply it out to see approximately how much space you'll need.

What happens to samples that were directly recorded into the rhythm on components? They don’t seem to show up as active slots but rather empty slots

The Components workflow is a bit wonky. You need to "get pack from circuit" first, which takes ages. However, you can just plug in the SD card, go to your pack, the "PCM" folder (which contains your samples) and look for NUMBER_PCM.wav. Those are your samples. Fast and easy!
Can you offload samples from the Circuit to the computer? Or just the other way around?

Helpful stuff for starters with this thing. Can you start a fresh pack on the unit, and record onto it from a blank slate? For example, if you were on the move with no computer but really wanted to sample something and didnt have free space on another pack, can you start to load up a blank one, or would the pack slot have to made ready in Components first? If you *can* do that, would it have any effects on that pack, like default effects, or just blank as well?
Also, is there any reliable way to know what kind of level you are recording into the unit at, besides just comparing with other sounds?
edit: You can also duplicate an entire PACK right on the unit too though?!
As far as I know, you can't just create a fresh pack on the Rhythm itself, but loading in one blank pack and then duplicating it as needed.
For the recording level, I'm not 100% positive but if I recall correctly, it normalizes the audio recorded into it.
Good to know, its just as simple to just have some blank packs on stand by anyway but was curious, cool that it normalizes levels too. I know its not your main musical focus, but some d&b content utilizing this thing and slicing/reversing/resampling and what not would be cool!
That's a great idea, once I have more time I'd love to see just how far I can push resampling. And I've been meaning to try to make more dnb.
You can indeed create a new empty pack on Rhythm - just hit an empty slot in Packs view and press play to create and load it. It'll use the default set of Grid FX when you create a pack in this way (matching the factory default pack). :)
If Rythym "collapses" samples into mono, why is there a stereo sample input?
Tbh I'm not totally sure. Maybe just to make sure it captures a stereo source properly? It might also be there to be the same as the two inputs on the Tracks. I also imagine that you could maybe connect two separate devices and hear them simultaneously, but I haven't actually tried that yet.
Maybe to render it balanced from stereo before it bounces to mono? Guessing

You'd need to either render them out as audio files or find where the audio files are stored.

I'd have to double check if that's possible with sends, but I know for sure that it's possible to parameter lock every macro at the very least.

You choose which slot to record into before recording (any empty one will work).
