Elizabeth.. Its been 25 years since i began journaling. Initially i used physical diaries. However since i was moving around due to work; it became cumbersome for me to carry these diaries. Moreover i used to write everything about myself; be it cringe, dark, sad, along with happy stuff too. I would be mortified if someone peeped into it. Hence around 2004; i started journaling using an email id. I would key into that mail and send it to the same id. There will be date, title, synopsis. Over time, i started adding pictures, voice notes, whatsapp chats screenshots, links of stock markets, politics, movies, cricket blah blah. I enjoy journaling. Its therapeutic as i can scream my emotions and feelings into it. Of course its such a nostalgia to peep in and see what i did on this date 20 years ago. In conculsion; I have heard people say they are lonely. You are lonely when you have no one to speak with. And when you can talk to yourself, its called Solitude. You discover yourself in Solitude and that is what i realised after a quarter century of journaling.

However, I think they can complement each other by exploring your deeper emotions and then seeking spiritual insights or healing.
