I understand that the message of this episode wasn't specifically about what I'm going to mention, but it truly emphasizes the importance of marrying someone who is divinely chosen for you and is devoted to reading the Word and nurturing their relationship with God. This podcast episode illustrates it perfectly-this man consistently prays for his wife, contends with demons to shield her, and actively protects her, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.

So critical. The church tends to lazer focus on preaching about marriage, skipping over praying and waiting for your God-sent mate. Christians rush into marriage without seeking God first and asking whether they (the man/woman) is the one He has for them.

100%, i think its important to understand that marriage is a calling, a ministry and when the time comes for you to maximize on the mandate and/or assignment for which God entrusted you with the partner you're one with, you must be ready and QUICK to discern and/or stand in the gap. So beautiful that he trusts us this much with one another, may we all find our kingdom-ordained mate.

I've found that the book of Psalms gives me permission to just unravel at the Lords feet- unashamedly. No warfare prayers l, no working, just being naked before God, being vulnerable with Him. And God ALWAYS moves when I keep that real with him, without fail. Sometimes legalism is thinking I have to do something to be in good standing, but really all I need is to be, be a child of God.
A humble and contrite heart God does not despise.

Moments like fighting depression are like the thorn in the flesh that Paul speaks of. Worship helps to move me out of that with prayer, meditating on scripture that is a direct weapon against the attack of the enemy, & for sure, tears are liquid words to God & I know He sees them all so I cry it out by allowing myself to process instead of push. Asking God to use my weakness to demonstrate His strength as He promised Paul in response to Paul asking Him to remove the thorn. Man I love how you guys are so willing to talk about real people issues as followers of Christ.

"It's times like these I fill smacked back in the middle" Wow, I felt that Jackie.
What a revelation about God's sanctification process. We shouldn't be depressed when we find ourselves being tempted but look it as an opportunity to overcome the test and grow stronger in Christ. It doesn't always mean we are doing something wrong. God is purifying our heart and exposing the things inside us that we need to pray about.
John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I cannot express enough gratitude for your transparency, for your articulation of feelings, and for creating a safe place to admit, that even in the kingdom, depressive feelings are present. It has taken me a loooonnnngggg time to acknowledge and admit that what I have been feeling IS depression. The problem is, it’s not consistent. It doesn’t look like what movies say depression looks like. It doesn’t feel like, what folks who are medically diagnosed as depressed describe. It is an overwhelming feeling that I sometimes can’t understand what triggers it, and I don’t know how to shake it. This has made me feel even more safe, and ok, to talk to our Father about these feelings without feeling guilty, or shameful, or sinful. THANK YOU 🥰🙏🏾

I’m soooo glad I listened to this episode. Jackie said something in the beginning about wanting to be delivered without doing the work 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 I’ve been struggling with irritation, a jealous spirit, depression, and anger for the past couple weeks. Somewhere around 29 mins Preston said “God wants us to come to Him” and that’s what I’ve been doing. When I say it’s hard to go to God or see His glory when so many spiritual attacks are happening simultaneously. Thank you for this exchange. I love the transparency and as a Christian, I relate. I’m constantly reminded that God is always with me 🙏🏾✨

I am floored with tears and gratitude listening to this podcast episode. There are times where I don’t comment, because I don’t know what to say or I don’t wanna sound corny, but to be so raw and candid, I have been angry and I have felt crushed and I have suffered for long with the Lord. I have cried out how long and how can this feel like love when it feels like this and it doesn’t. But He loves me all the more. In my doubt and questions and deep grief He has called me to Himself. Thank you both for pointing us towards His throne and to scripture, for reminding us of His nearness, and for showing us the pressing and the breaking and the vulnerability of your life experience as imperfect people pursuing a perfect God. Thank you, Jackie and Preston

A history of depression isn’t always talked about like this by Christians and I feel so seen and supported hearing you all talk about the reality of dealing with it in Christ

So many nuggets from this episode…One thing that stood out is how Preston covers Jackie. I just cannot imagine settling for less than that. Life is hard,we need to be equally yoked.

It’s funny how before I opened the podcast I was like how are Jackie and Preston able to show up every time so effortlessly, only to hear you guys talking about how you struggled to show up for this podcast. Thank you for showing us your human side. We definitely need to pray for you guys and not just enjoy the podcast.

Praying for you both. The Lord delivered me too from a lifestyle that was not from God and Jackie's message encouraged me so much to stay strong and believe the conviction that the Holy spirit placed in my heart. Im so happy that you have found such an amazing Godly man 🙏

This was oh so refreshing. Been having the same thoughts and questioning presence of anger. It’s so great to hear the transparency and realness from you two. Assures us that we are all going through things in our fight for the gospel.

The way that He loves us. Thank you for being obedient and recording this episode in spite of how both of you felt. I have just come out of a major depressive episode that has lingered for almost 3 years and it culminated with suxicixde ideation. I opened up to a few friends and they prayed for me and felt much lighter. Since last night I've seen God's footprints in the messages I've been listening to and conversations I've had. He is indeed with us.

Favorite quote, "Sometimes I feel like I want to be delivered without working for it". I'm going through the same issues with my weight. It's been so hard to stay motivated. I pray continually and listen to sermons on gluttony, meditate and confess. Sometimes I get so frustrated when all the work shows little improvement. Sometimes slipping into the darkness (complacency) just feels comfortable. I know my work will produce fruit but sometimes I just don't have the motivation to fight.

Sometimes though you reach out and people disregard you while you're busy being vulnerable with them. For me, that has been the worst because it further convinces me that I'm good on my own.

@MoTee1 don't fall for the trick of the enemy, his job is to distract and divide. Father God created us with community in mind, yes we need each other but also, can't lay a load on someone that in the moment they're not equipped to carry. I would say pray for the right person/people to be in your circle and trust God with all of it.

I certainly understand where you come from. That’s nothing but the enemy. I know that feeling way too well and I have friends who feels the exact same. It sucks to feel like a burden to others so we sit alone with our struggles. And in that tension is where the devil wants to keep us. Isolation is not the key. Hopefully and prayerfully u can find a solid community who is God and Biblically led to assist u and be there for your transparency.

I love this couple so much. I watched them often. What a power pack couple. Is ironic just last night on a Wednesday night in my church. I spoke on “if burnt out was a person coming from first king 19 dealing with Elijah. And then I hear this today 22 hours later. The enemy is on attack, but God she’ll get the glory out of our lives!
Jesus says, COME unto me, are you who are burdened and I will give you rest.
I hear you guys off to say. That sounds so spiritual. we are spiritual people. I know what you mean and roundabout way you don’t want over spiritualize things. But laying hands on his heart to pray is spiritual because it’s not going to give away in the natural. It’s beautiful you guys are amazing.

I loved this episode because some days I get irritated quickly or feel depressed for no reason and I often isolate myself and feel far from God (which makes me more depressed) because God is love and peace so when I don’t feel that I feel like he’s not near me but this episode helped me understand that he’s not only with me but it’s him that will help me get through it. Thank you ❤️

    Jars of clay. I ministered
to a few of my younger sisters using parts of Psalm 139. I was moved to make up a little song on being fearfully and wonderfully made, adding we are jars of clay Jesus made.
Happy Belated Mother's Day Jackie. Congrats on your new book, Mr. Perry. Some of us may be more prone to depression than others which I believe is rooted in anger turned inward towards ourselves. We must let go and trust God more.
    Always enjoy your podcasts. ❤️
