PATTAYA - HUA HIN BY BUS! New Service costs 473 Baht (5 minute review)

  • What's the best way to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin? The ferry was fast, but that route closed years ago. Taxis can take around 4 hours, but they charge between 2,500-3,500 baht!
    Now there's a new alternative which is the bus service from Pattaya Northern Bus Station which is only 473 baht one way.
    There's two buses daily, leaving at 8a.m and 4p.m. So what's the service like, and are there any tips to make it even better? Find out with this 5 minute review!

    I paid 3000 for a taxi service last May direct to HH Hilton and it was worth it and a hr quicker. Don't see a scenario where I'll do this route again but pricing and time seems fair.

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. That taxi fare sounds right. If time is important then it's still the best available option. Otherwise, if you don't mind the extra hour, bus is decent value.

    @137dylan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thanks for sharing this. Do you know why the closed down the (only?) ferry service? 5 hours one way is a pain and just about makes it a little too far to nip over to Pattaya for the day or a night.

    • @balloonchaser
      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. From what I read at the time it just wasn't making money. A few times it couldn't sail due to rough seas, and there was some talk that the vessel they were using wasn't the best design for the route it was plying. There was talk about it coming back, but covid put a stop to that, and I read the ferry was sold off and, that one, won't be back. Shame because it's the obvious route to go given the two resorts are nearly opposite each other!

    • @137dylan
      @137dylan 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@balloonchaser thanks for replying. Yes I hope they reinstate the service as it’s an obvious route and quicker. I’m consisting living in HH over Pattaya for the first time in years. Being able to nip over to Patts for a day or two would be ideal!

      @balloonchaser  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Good review. Also not certain why they are requesting ID for a domestic road journey. Probably for something benign like good old fashioned identity theft. The AC on some buses in SE Asia is insane. Sub zero temperatures are obviously what some passengers are looking for. Blankets or coats definitely required.
