    I think Hua Hin is suitable for people who want to come and relax. Pattaya goes out to entertainment places, both of which have advantages but are different in 2 cities and I also choose Hua Hin as the first place. 😁😁😍😍🍻🍻👍👍

    I loved Hua Hin when I visited. I especially remember the beautiful historic train station there. I didn't go to Pattaya because I was under the impression that it was mainly a party town. I liked the man in the MotorHead shirt. He was fun with his air guitar playing.

    There’s a lot to do in HH! Been to HH many times there’s plenty to do! Kite surfing, sailing, ATV, jet skiing, spas, Cicada night market, HH night market, golf, tennis, waterpark, Bluport for shopping, Monsoon vineyard for wine tasting. Try Seen Space, The Standard Hotel where more of the younger Thais go

    Hua Hin is better in many ways than Pattaya although I would rather go to Koh Samui and some of the other islands in Southern Thailand. If you really want whatever Pattaya has to offer, go to Phuket as it can empty your pockets just as fast.
    Hua Hin is cleaner, nicer in many ways but if its bars you want, go to Phuket or just save yourself the trip and stay in Bangkok.

  • @stevens8785
    @stevens8785 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Very interesting comparing the two for sure. I'm not even sure Pattaya is the go to place so much for female travelers young or old mostly world renowned as the sex tour capital (probably more so than Bangkok) of the rampant males of this world (Pattaya) and Jomtien more so the preferred choice of male retirees to live and certainly less hectic than Pattaya. The beach of Jomtien MUCH cleaner than that of Pattaya which is full of all sorts of fishing and shipping vessels rendering it unclean for people to swim in it.. Hua Hin as described clean beach, nice restaurants and decent bars with entertainment more suited to the older generation. Pattaya is an extended version of Bangla Road, Patong Beach Phuket. As always champ it is interesting listening to the views of the tourists out there. As always well done champ. 🤩

    • @Chai_Travel
      @Chai_Travel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I prefer Pattaya. Better connected, better golf courses, more daytime entertainment options, very nice quiet condos with direct beach access (Jomtien and Wong Amat), from where you can easily reach the bustling night entertainment scene if you want. I'm afraid the hopes of Aunt Andimay from Finland seem dim. Because Putin is like a man riding on the back of a tiger and he would definitely never let go of the tiger's back. Please support your leader as he is leading Finland in the right direction by becoming a NATO member nation, that is the only way in Finland's future to be safe from the man sitting on the back of a tiger. See, for example, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia, tiny nations stuck with Russia but safe in the shadow of NATO. 💪

    Hua Hin is a lovely compromise.
    A bit of everything, for single, married or families.
    The thai people there are much more helpful and polite, rather than over zealous.

    If you are a single person, Pattaya is OK but would not recommend it for a family or a couple. Sexual energy is over the top all around the city if that is your thing. Hua Hin is a relaxing Sea side town for all different ages and types of people. If you want to party with friends, maybe Bangkok or Phuket would be good choice.

    Most people mentioned the human aspects of Hua Hin. As a geographer, I would go there because of the climate. It experiences less rain than other regions of Thailand, and perhaps lower humidity--not sure about the latter.

Prior to that I'd been to Pattaya, had planned to stay for a week but disliked it so much that I cut the visit short by four nights, spent a few weeks in Bangkok then went to Hua Hin. I found Pattaya to be far too seedy for my liking, I'm just not into that kind of life.

    After being in both Pattaya and Jomtien, I am amazed by how dirty and trashy the water is at both beaches. Floating garbage and very murky polluted water. Got a 4 inch by 5 inch skin rash that lasted for days after swimming at the beach in Jomtien for just 15 minutes. I spent 3 months there. Hopefully, Hua Hin is nicer.

    Obviously these people have only seen the main beach in Pattaya. There is several much better beaches in Pattaya than Hua Hin. Pattaya has something for everyone. If you want peace and quiet, go to Naklua or Na Jomtien or Pratamnak. I would not stay in Hua Hin for any price. Nearby Cha-Am is much better. Then this Norwegian guy talks about shopping and restaurants😂 Pattaya wins in both by far.

    For people live in western Bangkok like me also prefers Hua Hin. Even though It's shorter length in kilometer but it's more traffic trouble for Thais who go on Saturday and come back on Sunday. Both places have good hotels/resorts and restaurant for all members of family but I think Hua Hin is more privacy and simply place. For Thai, Cha-Am or Hua Hin isn't for old-retired people but it's one of best weekend places for resting from rush lifestyle of Metro Bangkok. Half an hour from Hua Hin, Pranburi is the more silent place than Hua Hin that I also like to visit.

    It's not a fair question. Pattaya is for those who seek girly bars, drinking to excess and being ripped off by a taxi pirates. Hua Hin is more relaxed and the beach is shallow, which is ideal for families with children. Hua Hin is far superior to Pattaya, but please don't tell everyone!

If you really want nicer beach in the eastern coast go to beaches inside any Royal Thai Navy area in Sattahip. No need to go far to Phuket and you got the same.

    I think it depends where you live in Pattaya, because if you have a house on the dark side/east Pattaya then its also quiet and very relaxing with nice restaurants in the area. It only takes 20 minutes to drive into Pattaya to enjoy the nightlife, shopping etc. and 30 minutes to nice beaches near Sattahip. I also like Hua Hin, but 20 years ago when I was in my 40s there was just not enough entertainment there and Suvarnabhumi airport was so much closer to Pattaya, which is important when you still travel in and out of Thailand frequently.

    The only very bad thing in Pattaya is crazy traffic. A village turned into town turn into a city 🌆 of 1million people + tourists on top. Not one new road built.Thousands of dead end streets. Etc etc etc picking up kids from school can take over an hour drive covering a mare 5-6 km. A deal breaker

    It would be interesting to see this survey on a larger scale. Pattaya has got a lot to offer but just visiting on a couple of times it struck us at the amount of tourists (older men) with very young girls, no doubt the majority of these men had met the 'one' and were in 'love' ... and of course money has nothing to do with it (lol). Hua Hin on the other hand presented itself totally differently, yes there were a few Tourists with the bargirls from other resorts but it was no where as near as in your face as the likes of Pattaya, there were things to do but the pace of life was genuinely more relaxed and at a much slower pace. At nighttime in Hua Hin we found we could walk around with out the hassle we had in Pattaya. By far our favourite beach destination which is within easy traveling distance is Koh Samet. It has a mixture of everything and stunning clean beaches and the sea is very clean

    A good question, to compare two beach cities to define what they like about Hua Hin. You got more accurate answers than if you'd just asked why they like Hua Hin. I have no desire to bash Pattaya as it is very popular among many. I have never been there, but I will never forget when talking to a Thai friend about which Thailand cities I should visit beyond my usual Chiang Mai, and when I brought up Pattaya, their comment was, "Lots of prostitutes." So, of course, I quickly bought a ticket... 555, not really. I don't drink and I have a GF, so neither bars or bar girls are for me. But one day I will check it out as I travel around Thailand and make up my own mind if that was a fair assessment or not. I'd guess there is some truth to that, but also a lot of nice things the city has to offer.

      Simple life, $550.- usd I personally would spend about double. Nice enough accommodation and some western food. A few beers out and about in the weekends.

    The biggest problem with the Beaches in Pattaya is the fact that the sewer comes straight from the City into the Ocean, that is a well-known problem.
    Further, Pattaya is in fact one big open-air Brothel, with drugs, and alcohol abuse all over the place, hence, if that is your thing, go for it.

    In the 90's Pattaya beach water was brown and scary. It's more of a sex tour kind of beach. Hua Hin I spent years going to. The best thing about Hua Hin is the food---- Koti restaurant for the best steam crab.

    Pattaya is a Bay - it's not the ocean. That's why the seawater in Pattaya area is not so clear but a little dirty. Pattaya is not the best beach.

    Respect, but the only people you've interviewed were indeed "Older people" as you've called them
    I wouldn't call them old for a start and then, there wasn't anyone you could talk to in mid 30 to 40s?
    Not at all? Really..?
    I personally like Pattaya very much (not because most people associated it with)
    Never been to Hua Hin, but this video is Stereotyping and that is wrong in my opinion

    Pattaya is much like Phuket and the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok where the bars, sex and scammers work their magic. Never carry more than 3000 baht in cash and NEVER carry 10,000 baht notes. Reason, it gets dark, hard to see and sometimes an error is made with the help of a few drinks and thoughts of your waiter will come back with the change. I'd avoid those 3 places and try Koh Samui or one of the other islands in South Thailand.

    Hua Hin is obviously a more suited for a higher end level of ex pats compared to Pattaya. Better beach and a slew of golf courses with better accommodations. The beach is not world class, but tranquil and leagues superior than Pattaya..... . Rama 9 for a reason elected Hua Hin. as a retreat, and Bankokian prefer a 30 min. longer drive for quality. .... I love the push back gal on Pattaya., despite her take on Jomtien. It was a silly question to pose. These are two different markets. As I you now, young guys don't visit Pattaya nor elder woman , nor retired couples. It's full of walking dead men and awful beach. Given restricted choice, Hua Hin is an easy choice.
