This song is devastating in such a beautiful way. I go through this every year as my two sons grow up 8 hours away from me after our divorce, every time I drop them off this song explains it completely. Justin and Blue October is 1 of 1.
You don't just listen to Blue October, you feel Blue October 💙 my favorite group of musical humans ever.
You will never know the full breath of emotions until you see Blue October live. It is spiritual.

I’ve been a Blue October fan since 2003 and I LOVE seeing how Justin’s music moves people.
This song was written for his oldest daughter after he went though a very bitter and difficult divorce and custody battle. He has since remarried, has another daughter and son, and just within the last year or so, his eldest daughter now lives with him.
If you enjoy this man and his stories/music as much as it seems you do, check out the documentary Get Back Up (available on Amazon Prime Video). You will be left sobbing and speechless. His life journey is AMAZING!

The intro was a bit of Hate Me. His bandmates used that song as ammunition to get him to go to rehab. A line in Hate Me says "I'm sober now for 3 whole months. it's an accomplishment that you helped me with." and his bandmates told him that he gets up on stage and lies to his fans when he sings it. That is how he decided to go to rehab. Fear was writen while in rehab.
My favorite reaction ever, honestly, because it mirrors the way I hear Blue October.
They put out a doc within the last year or two. Definitely worth a watch.
I loved the documentary so much💙🌹💙It was great to hear about his childhood struggles that hit hard when Fame got ahold of him💙🙏💙
Every album is about the struggle he is going through at that time. He is absolutely amazing. Singer, songwriter, performer. He connects on another level with his fans and supporters. He is truly a beautiful soul!!! This band is so underrated!!

The best is being there live when he says “I got plenty of friends around” the whole crowd starts cheering. It’s such a special moment to be apart of.

I first heard of Blue October about 10 years ago on the alternative station listening to "Hate Me". I've been a fan since. Check out their side project, Harvard of the South.

This song hit me. My parents separated when I was young but remained best friends. My dad is my best friend, the reason it hit me so crazy is because there are so many children that have parents that hate each other and it’s not them that lose but the kids. It’s pain by association, it’s brutal and unfair. Kids shouldn’t have to fight that war. I’m lucky and I’m grateful, parents… need to do better! ♥️✌🏼♥️
I’m so happy you reacted to my request. This song is heartbreaking but you might be happy to know that he has since figured things out and he gets to see his daughter Blue all the time now. Give blue October a follow on insta and you can see him spending time with her a lot. He’s an amazing song writer and story teller.

His voice. His lyrics. His passion. The first song that sucked me in was “All that we are”. I had that song on repeat and it brought tears to my eyes.
I got to see them in concert Nov 2019. It was a small venue here in Canada. The energy that they had was epic. I was a couple rows from the front and Justin made eye contact. I waved, he waved. He blew me a kiss, I blew him one back. It was a time stopping moment. Lol

Every time I hear this song at a concert, I bawl my eyes out!! This album came out at the same time as my own divorce and for a couple of years this was my go-to song when I felt overwhelmed.
Ooooh, ouch, ugly crying. 😭 I lost so many years with my dad, because after my parent's divorce my mom said my dad never wanted us (3 kids). That was a big fat lie that left so bad scars I've never wanted kids of my own. Luckily I'm really close to my dad nowadays. ❤ A great reaction! 👌🏻

Ive been to one of his accoustic shows like this in houston and it was an experience. We laughed and we cried. If you ever have a chance to see him or the whole band live i promise you will never forget that night

I’m not sure if it was on here but you should react to Bleed Out Acoustic. It’s a song Justin does basically through the eyes of his wife. It’s fantastic and you can feel the emotion in the song and he expresses it so well basically for someone else.

Once I discovered Blue October, I was able to put away my Richard Simmons VHS, stop shaving my legs and focus solely on the power of Justin's words; the only thing the two have in common is the amount of onion ninjas in their employ... I have always loved this song, but I completely lost my composure and ugly cried the first time I saw the actual video. Ugly, UGLY crying. Your reaction is dead on to what the Blue Family knows and loves about Justin. You have to get to a show if you haven't seen them live, it'll change your life.
