Nice review! small correction: Unfortunately, the base does not have blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. It does have adaptive cruise control and lane assist. I was considering base-impreza vs maxda-cx30, and I am leaning towards cx30 primarily because of BSM.

thank you for pointing that out. I don't what these costs and I understand keeping the price down on a base model however if I had to choose between blind spot monitoring and rear traffic alert and adaptive cruise control and lane assist I would pick the first two because I think they are more useful. BSM is far more useful than ACC in my opinion.

Great value especially since it's AWD, plus it's got LED projector headlights which is a plus and is better than reflective LEDs.

The fog light holes that are plugged looked like airplane propellers. A reasonable price for that 2024 Impreza Base. It has a lot of very nice features and accessories. A wonderful vehicle for a beginning driver, student, a car for your daily commute to work and back, or you just don't need a top end vehicle and payments in your life. Thanks for another review, Mike.

I think this is the best car you can get under 25k. I just wish it were a little taller since I have difficulty getting out of low cars because of my knees. I and trying to decide between this and the crosstreck but I would have to get the base of either to stay in my budget. I am also looking at the Mazda cx30

13:27 - pretty sure there's no spare tire in any of the 2024 Impreza trims (only a fix-a-flat kit). An "Alex on Autos" video did mention that it might be possible to fit an aftermarket spare tire in though since the Impreza body dimensions are basically the same as a Crosstrek, which does include a spare tire.

Yep. My mother-in-law has the base version (2024) and it does not have a spare. The owners manual says that it has the jack, tools and a sealant kit + 12v air compressor, but no spare tire. I came looking for that same thing... is there ROOM for a spare tire if we got her one.

@@aarongranger According to various dealerships that I have checked with a spare tire/wheel can be ordered. It does seem strange that you get a lug wrench and jack and no spare tire. I would not think that you would need a jack and lug wrench if you don't have a spare tire to replace the tire that is on the car. I have heard that fix a flat and those cheap inflaters do not work. Hope my information helps you. How does your mother-in-law like her Impreza if I may ask?

@@kl1958 The base Impreza is a gem... tons of safety features and 4wd in a simple, easy to drive package. I've driven it a few times and it feels nimble and strong enough. A perfect appliance car at a very reasonable price.

@@aarongranger Ok...thanks...I had a 2015 Crosstrek and bought a 2020 Legacy and have been very happy with both. I live in the Midwest and get plenty of snow here in Illinois. Glad your mom-in-law and you like the Impreza. it is really roomy for its size. Thanks again.. Kevin

The base model doesn't have that 'sport tuned' suspension that makes the Sports/RS trim a little bit livelier------I wonder if the aftermarket can pick up that slack.
Look at the SPEC sheet comparison provided by SUBARU: there are some differences beyond the cosmetic between the base and sport/rs trims (even apart from the wheels.)
I believe the BASE has smaller rotors too.

2 things i wish it had was about 3 inches taller like the crosstreck and a spare tire. But it looks better than the crosstreck i dont like the plastic cladding. I also wish it had a manual e brake i case you loose your main break system or the hydrolics go out. It a very nice car i like it like i like my legacy but the height is an issue on back country roads i have bottomed out and damaged by muff)e on crappy roads. I dont offvroad but we have terrible weather and bad roads in Pennsylvania.

If you hold up on the electronic e-brake in the Impreza, it will make an emergency stop. My dealer warned me about it.

The empty spot is where seat heaters would be.

Excellent review..car offers a lot of value and has really good entry level content. Fuel mileage is not really great..awd..but it has quieter, more absorbent ride than a Civic or a Corolla.O

I prefer minimalis models. No dealer added wheel locks, please! This is a "price pack" attempt!
