    All good advice, gentlemen. You are so right about being a fool and his money when you first get there. Most of us are not rich, and when you flaunt your money to impress, you are headed for trouble. It is sometimes tough to change your Western culture when you meet women, as we all have done exactly that when trying to date a Western woman. You are going to have to be alot more frugal. You must stick to a definite monthly budget amount and stick to it, or you will find yourself losing the game. Most great Filipina are exactly what you say, as they are usually shy and conservative, but in the world, we live in social media, and it has tainted some Filipina. If you look online or not, you will go through many before you find one that works for both of you. The main thing is, if the Filipina works and she does what makes tmyou happy, quit the wandering eye, if you are committed to this woman. You should know she can't let you be someone your not.😊

      Wow! A filipina not addicted to her phone? I thought that was a oxymoron. Mostly, it's just a matter of degree. It's the height of disrespect when someone stares at their phone during a conversation especially, during an intimate social interaction, like a dinner date. That does sound great, but also be aware that many are good at playing the 'long game,' meaning they will 'morph' into an entirely different person later on. It takes time to get to know someone, so don't be in a rush.

    As I had typed in a comment on one of your other videos (and thank you for the response), I will probably choose a city like Cebu City because of a preexisting condition I have.
    As someone who also subscribes to Mike’s channel and is originally from Ohio, I would have asked if I could borrow one of his Ohio State Buckeye T-shirts😂
    A commenter under a video by Filipina Blues suggested I decide whether I want to live either in the province or city (I choose city) and then get involved in hobbies and other stuff while waiting for the right type of woman to come along. I am glad to see that way of thought echoed here.
    Sunshine Shoulders in Cebu City recommended we have another expat man wait for us at the airport so that we keep our wits about us. Sounds good to me as long as he’s honest.

    A long LDR is often good for establishing trust and determining compatibility. Maybe the guys that date around are the ones making the mistake. Telling girls that they aren't good enough for this or that is cruel. And it's tough to break up. I don't want to be a butterfly like that.😂

    • @EasternDreamer615

    • @mrrobert177
      @mrrobert177 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There is no real way to know someone and test compatibility without spending extended time together face to face. Way to many guys get hooked online with a fantasy relationship, I'm sure you will respond that you know someone that it worked out great for...but overall the numbers are not with committing to someone you haven't met and spent time with ..just because one guy you know did LDR and it worked out great doesn't mean that guys should throw getting to know someone face to face out the window. Some have dumb luck, but more end up disappointed but getting into a serious relationship with someone you either haven't met face to face it only spent a very short time with.

    • @damncars2618
      @damncars2618 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@mrrobert177 Appreciate your response, but I disagree with your assessment of LDR. I'm all the proof I need, but I know Many other LDRs that worked. My point is that when you date, you're screwing yourself out of the best one. After you found a wife, you're forever making comparisons and cursed. The many vloggers giving dating advice is evidence and it's laughable. I'm sure you know of a few if them. They're experience being a chickboy or butterfly is exploitive of women, giving all foreigners a bad reputation. A good Filipina will date only to evaluate a suitor for marriage. A foreigner whi dates for body count, are just Sick guys, spreading it around.

    • @mrrobert177
      @mrrobert177 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@damncars2618 I agree that many vloggers are clueless when it comes to dating, but it doesn't stop them from giving lots of worthless advice! But I still say committing seriously to someone you have never met face to face is a poor method in general. It's different in the Philippines for sure. The research says something like 85 percent of foreigner/ Filipina relationships don't last past 3 months. So you are part of the 15 percent. It worked for you and some others, but not good odds for most. I would advise to get to the Philippines, get comfortable navigating life in a variety of ways, start to learn the culture and a little of the language. Be honest in what you are looking for, take your time, just because a lot of filipinas want to dive in head first immediately to a relationship upon meeting or before, doesn't mean it's a good idea for you. Just take your time, learn the culture, environment, cultural norms, how people communicate. If you do that your chance of success with a girl chosen to pursue face to face will be much higher than 15 percent and result in much less heartache for Filipina and foreigners alike. Just a different approach, I value face to face getting to know each other, to much unknown and risks getting serious online. But guys are going to do it regardless, just seems risky and a bit desperate to me, to get serious with a fantasy, no real way to know how 2 people will get along before meeting face to face and so many things hidden online, u have to admit it's a big risk the commit to someone you haven't met, right? Like I said it can work and does, just not the path I would recommend for a friend.

      @@mrrobert177 I agree with you after doing both. An LDR, at best is an INTRODUCTION, but the rubber meets the road when you mean and live with your filipina, which is impossible for those who come to the Phil for a short visit and marry based solely on that. I would think it is a good idea to date many girls but don't try to form long term relationship with anyone of them very quickly. The girls can serve as tour guides and show you the ways of the land. The idea is to meet many people and eventually the right girl will come. Don't go chasing after women. Let the women do the chasing. The more women you surround yourself with the more desirable you become. Women are crazy like that. Word of advice don't lead with your wallet. If you going to eat go to local modest places where food is affordable but good. Eventually when you get good feel of the new environment you want start filtering the girls who are the better girls for a potentially serious relationship. Remember guys you are the prize. Make the girl work for your attention.
