Someguy528 Coolio. I played guitar a little bit during high school, (Which I just finished this year) but I've always been alright with just listening to the music and rockin' out. :)
See, what's messing him up is having to play fewer notes in a lower difficulty. You can hear him trying to play the whole verse riff and he's strumming in time (it's his own song after all), but on Easy the notes aren't there. I bet once he got used to it he could easily be a total badass at it and FC anything on Expert.
Maybe. But maybe not. I was playing Guitar hero like 5 or 6 years ago but then I started playing an actual guitar. And I've recently started playing it again because my little brother wanted me to play it with him and where did I screw up? I kept jumping the frets as if I played a real guitar.
Doesn't Rockstar let you use a real instrument? The issue with rockstar is that the tabs they use tend to be wrong in places, I've seen tabs on Songster that were sourced from Rockstar that were off, like Back Sabbath Children of the Sea.
Oops, I was thinking of Rocksmith, here's a vid, th-cam.com/video/FKmmxiKgPUg/w-d-xo.html If you listen to the original song on Heaven and Hell, you can hear parts that are off.
I dont understand why people are so negative about guitar hero? It brings rock and metal back to the mainstream, what is wrong with that? More people who listen to rock and metal = win?
I thought everyone knew that people who actually play guitar can rarely play Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is a video game with a guitar shaped controller that you press buttons on, just like the regular controllers with buttons. Being able to play Guitar Hero does not equate to being a guitarist, but a video game player. They are both fun, but you can't really compare them. He actually did quite well with it, considering he was in the middle of an interview. He can really multitask. Dave's the man.
Both Dave and Kirk have inspired millions of guitarists to play, they each have a unique style and I appreciate them both and i see no point in argueing who's the better one or if Megadeth or Metallica is the better band or vice versa. They're both great.
mustain es un ejemplo de hombre, siendo un guitarrista profesional no se ofende de un videojuego como esos pseudo guitarristas que no le gusta el juego y aparte a elegido un personaje glam y SUPUESTAMENTE los trashers odian a los glam
I understand french, and I frankly have to say he has the best accent I've ever seen from a french dude. Believe it or not. Also, I had no idea a mistake in french was called a "duck".
im a metallica fan, but i still think that megadeth has some pretty kick ass songs. i bought GH metallica, and if they made GH megadeth i would definately buy it. they are both great bands and each have their pros and cons. its a matter of taste of music.
I think Easy is kinda hard, because there are more notes in the song than on the track, but on expert there are as many notes on screen as there are in the song.
***** I wouldn't call it easier on real guitar, not by a long shot. It is definitely harder. What makes this seem harder is fighting muscle memory when going from real guitar back to guitar hero/rock band. Before I played instruments I found most songs doable in those games on expert (that's the highest difficulty right?) but now that I play the real instruments I find even medium can be a challenge sometimes.
I love how Mustaine seemed like may actually be enjoying himself with it. Like...if he was more of a loser and had time (like us), he'd be FC'ing Expert songs left and right
And 14 years After , Utube show me this .....IS there a link with my daughter who is a geek and a piano player and me Megadeth fan and multi-instrumentist .....nooooooo
@ffheim I played GH for a couple years. Picked up the real thing a year ago, after wanting to for a long time. Let me tell you, it helps a lot more than you may think. Helps get your hands in sync, get a feel for the timing, among other things. Is it exactly like play real guitar? No. Can you play expert on GH, with no real guitar experience, and pick up a real guitar and play Holy Wars? No. Is it fun, and does it turn you on to new music, and inspire you to play the real thing? Hell yes.
in my opinion, metallica produced four solid and essential thrash albums, which obviously were the first four. after that it went downhill, the black album had some decent material but they should have stuck to what they were best at. props to dave for keeping thrash alive and he has also produced some of the most essential albums of the genre. but when it comes down to it, they were both great bands.
man i use to be so good at guitar hero. but then i started paying more attention to guitar, now i can the songs on a actual guitar but can barely play them on medium now, haha
I agree. I am good at guitar hero but when i pick up a real guitar it is NOTHING like it. I have respect for people that can play real guitar but have NO respect for those that slam guitar hero because it has "ruined guitar". In fact, guitar hero is one of the biggest things to inspire people to learn to play real guitar. Metallishredder19, i like you're attitude towards the subject and i agree completely with you coming from the opposite view.
I think Dave did rather well for his first go on guitar hero. Then again he is a professional guitarist. With practice I think he would master it within a week or so.
Dave uses a "Zero" signature dean guitar not an explorer he says it in the interview for that guitar. Dave Mustaine of Megadeth - Exclusive Interview on new USA "Zero" Signature Dean Guitar!
Hangar 18 made wanna listen to Megadeth. So cool to see a great guitarist having problem with this game. The game is as hard for guitar players as for regular people. Rock on Dave..go and make those clams on GH2!!
i really understand because i am a guitarist and when i first started playing guitar hero i thought i was gonna kill on that game but now i'm pretty good i played it for a couple of hours and bam 90-100% depends if i'm tired or not
@PeikkoKuningas95 Not really I play both. Guitar Hero is a fun game that the family can play. The guitar is much harder and will take practice, and it's not a game.
Dave Mustaine is an excellent guitar player, and there are tons of guitarists in metal (real metal, not nu metal) that are as good as him, or even better.
"This game's a lot harder than playing a real guitar"
There you have it, folks. So pick up a guitar and start playing!
Learning this game is easier than learning real guitar
I learned both pretty easy
hitting five buttons and definitely harder than 24+ frets and 6 strings and picking
I'm sure it's fun. But I'd prefer the *Real thing.*
Great comment ever
''Do you feel like a real guitarrist?''
''No!''
AUHuhaHUaHUauhhua
Mustaine is a legend
BR BR BR????
Dave is playing on James' guitar model. lol
i noticed that too xD
Actually he has a signature explorer shaped guitar now with Dean: Dean Zero. Check it out.
Someguy528 Just checked it out, it looks cool! I still think the Flying V fits Dave more, though. :)
HairMetalBrony1016 Yeah I know what you mean. Dave is actually the reason I play V style guitars among others.
Someguy528 Coolio. I played guitar a little bit during high school, (Which I just finished this year) but I've always been alright with just listening to the music and rockin' out. :)
-"What is your guitar?"
-"It's an ES--Dean Flying V shaped guitar"
-"Is it like a Gibson guitar?"
-"No, it's a Dean."
Haha. Go Dave forever.
And now he plays Gibson :0
This comment didn't age well
And now he plays a gibson
yeah right
I actually feel like he would've done so much better on Hard or Expert.
RettFFA
And if he didn't tap the buttons every note
@@natea3799 My friends who I actually got into guitar hero do that too. I guess it's just an instinct for a lot of new players.
RettFFA Yeah
I can beat dave at guitar hero but he gonna kick my ass at real guitar
Hamad Mahran Same
I suck at both tbh 😔😔😔

Must feel weird playing on Hetfield's guitar model... hehe.
Dave played an Ibanez destroyer before he even joined metallica. It has this same shape...
***** His Angel of Deth 2 model by Dean is very similar to the Gibson Explorer
See, what's messing him up is having to play fewer notes in a lower difficulty. You can hear him trying to play the whole verse riff and he's strumming in time (it's his own song after all), but on Easy the notes aren't there. edwardelric880 And the functionality in the right hand is radically different.
Doesn't Rockstar let you use a real instrument? The issue with rockstar is that the tabs they use tend to be wrong in places, I've seen tabs on Songster that were sourced from Rockstar that were off, like Back Sabbath Children of the Sea.
Oops, I was thinking of Rocksmith, here's a vid, th-cam.com/video/FKmmxiKgPUg/w-d-xo.html
If you listen to the original song on Heaven and Hell, you can hear parts that are off.
You can see he tries to speed up at 2:15 lol poor Dave, must've been a mindfuck
I dont understand why people are so negative about guitar hero? It brings rock and metal back to the mainstream, what is wrong with that? More people who listen to rock and metal = win?
Because people got burnt out playing it. Time to play Heroine Hero!

I love how Dave is so modest and always jokes about sucking at guitar but in reality it is quite the opposite.
I like how you can tell he's an actual player by the way he positions his fingers haha.
Both Dave and Kirk have inspired millions of guitarists to play, they each have a unique style and I appreciate them both and i see no point in argueing who's the better one or if Megadeth or Metallica is the better band or vice versa. They're both great.
Dude's trying to carry on a fully fleshed out conversation while Dave's trying his hardest to figure this game out 😆
Dave is such a cool guy. He's a real God of guitar and metal!
Love how Dave smiled when the guy told him that he Is a Guitar Hero
Dave is a legend!
This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
dave is an amazing guitarist
2:22 "Do you feel like a real guitarist?"
*Dave paused for 2 sec*
"No"
I understand french, and I frankly have to say he has the best accent I've ever seen from a french dude. Believe it or not.
Also, I had no idea a mistake in french was called a "duck".
dave is playing james hetfield explorer
im a metallica fan, but i still think that megadeth has some pretty kick ass songs. i bought GH metallica, and if they made GH megadeth i would definately buy it. they are both great bands and each have their pros and cons. its a matter of taste of music.
He is trying to play with the real rythem, it is Hilarious
I love seeing real guitar heros play this game :D
" I am not a good Bass Player"
"Me neither!"
xD
THAT IS THE CUTEST THING MI EVER HAVE SEEN!!
God I love Dave, get well man 🤘🏻🤘🏻
2:19 and 3:18 Dave was about to play the real solo on the controller lmao
Ahh dave mustaine just rules. He's such an awesome guy.
Eet fuk??
Wrong band
Pretty good for a first timer with the game.
I think Easy is kinda hard, because there are more notes in the song than on the track, but on expert there are as many notes on screen as there are in the song.
no one can play this song better than dave :)
Never heard of Anger 18, heard of Angry again or hangar 18, but never a combination of both.
That was hilarious 😂
Anger 18! Fuck Yeah!
i love how dave doesnt realise you can hold the buttons down instead of pressing them everytime for a note lol
i love dave and hes so funny in this ....and he seems like hes enjoying the game alot lol
"I'm playing BASE gitar, you're playing..... ZE geetare!"
2:43 is the best part by far! Oh Mustaine, you...
try playing this on fucking expert mustaine
they couldnt shove enough notes on there for it to be close to the real thing
try playing this on a real fucking guitar adams
***** I wouldn't call it easier on real guitar, not by a long shot. It is definitely harder. ***** theres no bends or pulloffs in gh, not to mention 2 handed tappings.
The real guitar has 144 buttons with 6 strum bars....
And that's just to produce notes , lots of other things to do in order to play the instrument.
I feel like playing this game so much growing up helped me alot with my music abilities
Looks like he's trying to play the chords along with it. xDDD
Hahaha, he nearly said his guitar was an ESP at the beginning :P
I love how Mustaine seemed like may actually be enjoying himself with it. Like...if he was more of a loser and had time (like us), he'd be FC'ing Expert songs left and right
0:27 Haha he was gonna say a Flying V, then an ESP, and then he remembered "Shit, i've got an Dean :(" hahaha
dave's actually enjoying the game
"It's an ES- Dean"
Having some regrets there Dave?
same. that's why in a way it's actually easier on the hardest setting because it usually has all the notes in the right timing.
HA! They were playing on Easy.
Why don't you try playing Hangar 18 on a real guitar? AND SING!
👌 this close to saying 'esp'
"Wow i can do it!!" xD it sounds funny
MUSTAINE RULES!!!!
And 14 years After , Utube show me this .....IS there a link with my daughter who is a geek and a piano player and me Megadeth fan and multi-instrumentist .....nooooooo

it looks like hes having fun dave mustaine for president

Dave reminds me of what I was like the first time I played GH. It's awkward, but you laugh at yourself.
Dave is awesome
man i use to be so good at guitar hero. but then i started paying more attention to guitar, now i can the songs on a actual guitar but can barely play them on medium now, haha
Dave Mustaine Rocks!!!
I remember during an interview, Ian Hill (Bass Judas Priest) said he couldn't play this game.
he started to say ESP then caught himself and still got the name of his guitar wrong... never change dave
Hahaha Dave you rock man thanks for the shows here in Brazil
he said ONE OF the most difficult songs in the game, which it is.
"You have a song on there?"
"Yeah I do - never played it though!"
LOL

it's great to see him take it with such humor, I usually get pissed when I'm playing this game
he does not need this
he is a guitar hero by himself

Dave can do anything!
@OVER9000VIDEOS No, its an interview.
lol. "my eyes are watering"
haha he's great.
man i would give anything to have a round of guitar hero with dave mustaine that would be sweet.
Dave is my guitar hero!
he almost said esp when he was talking about his guitar lol dave's awesome
Dave rules man
Hangar 18 made wanna listen to Megadeth. So cool to see a great guitarist having problem with this game. The game is as hard for guitar players as for regular people. Rock on Dave..go and make those clams on GH2!!
look at dave his like yeah i'm going to play guitar hero
what makes u say that? because he plays guitar profesinaly?
Hangar 18, my favorite Megadeth song
i really understand because i am a guitarist and when i first started playing guitar hero i thought i was gonna kill on that game
but now i'm pretty good
i played it for a couple of hours and bam 90-100%
depends if i'm tired or not
The way he said "Ba-Bye" is so cute! :))
@PeikkoKuningas95 Not really I play both. Guitar Hero is a fun game that the family can play. The guitar is much harder and will take practice, and it's not a game.
I love the part at 1:24 when he says: "Wow i can do it" 1:25 Fail..
This is pretty funny. I agree with Dave, when I played guitar hero I found it's in some cases much harder than playing the songs on a real guitar.
dave did a great job for not playing the game. good job dave we love you man!!!!!!!!
I have that guitar too, Im playing the same one Dave used, win!
wat if u play both?
Dave Mustaine is an excellent guitar player, and there are tons of guitarists in metal (real metal, not nu metal) that are as good as him, or even better.
