We are not cutting anymore nationals. Shouldn't have happened the first time. Supercross would be okay with 14-15 rounds but the nationals should go back to 12.
They would cut moto before sx as there is no comparison in revenue and profit margin between the two.
Totally, 17 rounds is way too much SX, I vote 12 indoors, 12 outdoors, Championships have to mean something, its not a sprint it is about durability and outlasting as much as it is speed, in the hardcore days they raced 2 motos of 45minutes! But way too much SX. I love both,. but balance, just money hungry promoters!

However, what I was getting at is I think Eli is going back to Colorado and train the rest of the year with no time off and most likely bring Deegan back for a few weeks even. Which I think will help both of them. Now that Eli knows that his body can handle it and he know that he can win in his head he just needs a little more time on the bike at 100%.

Supercross is where the money is at. Motocross doesn’t even have nearly as close as a payout. Moto is definitely dying compared to Supercross

Defiantly is a bummer to see AP and Chance both injured, i was in the air on if they would win but now it’s really looking slim. I bet they are regretting not having Tomac and deegan go.
I was not expecting to see Tomac come back firing on all cylinders. There’s usually more of a warm up period with him after an injury but I think he knows his races are limited. It’s crazy at his age he can still come out and battle the Lawrence brothers like that.

I read online at the SMX site that parking was free for the Texas race. When I pulled into the venue they had a crew of guys charging 25$ a pop per vehicle! 🤣 I mentioned it to the guy when i pulled up and he said "I know, alot of people have been askin' that, just pretend like you tapped your card and then go, your good". I said "huh.....oh ok, I got you bro thanks." My first thoughts were Davey. 🤣I cant beleive they were charging people after stating parking was free. *Card Only as well 🤣🤦🏻♂
We got to see Beast Mode. Tomac just wasn't in top shape and blew his wad in the 1st Moto. Left all the others shaking in their boots. Wait til next year.

Supercross will always be the premier. With SMX, they need to start everyone at 0 points. That way, the entire field has a chance to win the championship.

1. Its 3 races, it's not a championship. It's simply 3 races with the amount of money that sx and outdoors should have had.
2. Sx has never and will never be the premier form of motocross. The premier series is the GPs. American Nationals are second. The American Nationals would have been the premier series and was headed that way but then the riders started to ride the increased sx series and their motocross riding suffered from it. The GP riders are faster. Sx is good and it is fun to watch and does take talent to do well at it but, it is not motocross, and it is not premier.
3. Yes, they do need to start with 0 points. It is too confusing to the public the way it is. New watchers have difficulty figuring who won due to adding together the two motos. Now they look at the winner and can't understand why the winner doesn't have the points lead. Leave it to the U.S. to f*ck things up and then claim that it's a World Championship.
The Go’s USED TO BE premier …but NOW those riders aren’t faster…just like in the 80s when USA used to clean house at the Des Nations…and those tracks are mostly man made and LAME!!!… that’s why those auto riders have started coming to America to race!!!
Cut back on Supercross to only one Anaheim event and then try to stay indoors to avoid rain races. That should help cut it to around 14. 10 would be perfect for outdoors but it f you can cut Supercross to 14 keeping outdoors at 11 would be fine. Move Motocross does Nations to every 4 years would also help with not running these guys into the ground year round.

@@ahighervibe4086 yeah. Just like the World Cup or the Olympics. It does not need to be a yearly event. At this point a lot of the top guys have no desire to go every year and their teams certainly don’t want to cover that bill on a yearly basis. At every 4 years it becomes more of a special event and riders/teams will also be more apt to compete. That way you actually get the best riders from every country showing up versus a pieced together mess of guys willing to go.
They should absolutely cut the season, it would hurt their revenue (promoters) in the short term but I fully believe it would build anticipation and make the sport bigger.

I loved seeing Hunter finally WIN! He beat them straight up. I want to see him win the series and get the Million bucks. He's a good guy.
I can't see this series lasting much longer, small crowds, not liked by the riders, i find it very incredulous where the money comes from, funnel the money into the outdoors, the best series in the world

Jett is used to it being easy. With a confident eli it’s not easy for anyone. I have said it for a long time is Jett isn’t ready to hear that Yamaha bouncing off rev limiter right behind him. I am excited for supercross season to have 4 guys going hard.
It’s literally his second race back from an injury. This is the first time Eli Tomax given him any type of competition.
Supercross sucks. 10 rounds SX, 15 rounds MX.

Wait a second. The Olympics is held in one location, one country every 4 years. It's the fact that the participants are from different countries that makes it a world event. Our sport has riders from many different countries, practically everyone but I'll just say many people from around the world would want to race in our series. This is the top level of the sport in the world, minus a couple guys ...this is where all the best riders in the world race. It's the pinnacle of motocross/supercross. Supercross was almost irrelevant outside our county until a few years ago with all these half ass supercross series coming out around the world. And about taking out some of the rounds, I think they need to make it 14 supercross races and 11 motocross races, it would be hard to take another motocross race out because they are held at these family owned/operated race tracks and who and how would they pick which track/family to take out of the series. They can easily take out 3 of the stadium races and call it good.
Cooksey, be careful sneaking around the Las Vegas track before the event, they might have a full-on security force on the prowl just waiting for a Cooksey sighting! Take care my friend!

A larger time gap between the outdoors and SMX payoffs will allow each “series” to stand alone. Right now the payoffs feels more like a continuation of the outdoors..
Tomac finally got the chance make Jett look bad! Nobody has done this other than roczen at the same round last year in Chicago. I was lucky enough to see that in person!

More moto, more smx and LESS sx. The EU guys smoke us on the MX tracks because of SX and it only being a marketing show. Personally I can't stand SX especially in person.
Plus 2 days of racing is way more marketing for sponsors than 1 day in and out. Plus hopefully will bring in more of a international field long term.

Also have to remember the only reason Jett got to the lead was Hunter spinning up on the face of that 2-3-2 rhythm that took out 10-15 dudes & he cased the hell out of it & then he held on to Jett’s fender until Jett stalled it. So even more props to Hunter.🎉
Do not cut the outdoors. That is the true heart of the sport. Yes SX does make money but the heritage is with MX. I would say add one more outdoor race and remove SX races.

Just an idea but why not cut the 450 class into east coast/west coast just like 250 supercross? Room for more riders on more teams! Seems like a simple solution that will give the 450 riders a break.

What’s the point of running a paddle tire on red clay? These guys are way over thinking it. Mx53 or 34 is the tire for clay hands down 100% of the time.
No need to cut races. Some racers are complaining now because it’s new to them. Give them a couple years to adjust and all will be fine. If they are to cut SX or MX races it should be to add more SMX. In a few years the riders will be conditioned for it, and the mechanics will have the data to tune for it.

I think it would be cool if the final SMX round would be 3 races, triple points and on the 3rd and final race have a winner take all showdown race meaning that only the riders who are mathematically in the points by the last race would race. Just them no one else on the track.
Hey Cooksey, I 100% agree with you about those f'n tuff blocks. GET RID OF THEM. I personally think RJ would have been ok and saved it if it wasn't for the tuff blocks. After he landed on the tuff block, he crashed. If the tuff block wasn't there, it would have been a different story. PERIOD!!

The only reason that there is anticipation for Annahiem is because no one has seen racing for 3 months. Sx sucks compared to the outdoor Nationals.

I disagree with the points. I get that it is great for the fans because it basically makes it winner take all and keeps less consistent riders in the conversation but it’s not fair to the riders who race every race of supercross and motocross and then can win both of the first two races of the SMX playoffs but can lose it all just because they get taken out on a start in the final race. If we care about the riders and want to reward the ones who are in it all year and constant all year then you can’t make it to where a rider who missed races and was inconsistent win. It doesn’t prove anything other than they did good at the last race. Might as well go back to having the monster cup if only one race really means anything.

This race was OK, but wtf was with that short A$$ freaking start? I'd like to see the start go down the entire front stretch of these speedways. Let them open up that throttle and see the horse power. Get rid of those high speed stopping wall jumps. They're stupid. Let the ponies run with the riders abilities. SMX is just a disappointment in the track layouts to me. Put in a whoop section with about 12-15 whoops. They don't need to be the size of a VW bug, but there's your speed check instead of those dumbass walls. Glad everyone's healthy at this point and I'm hoping Chase takes the overall so NO ONE can try and put an Asterix mark on his title. Sure looking forward to A1 though. Maybe they should do the outdoors in winter, then SX in the hot summers. Would keep these guys from being so close to heat exhaustion and burnout. Maybe just keep the points from both SX and MX and carry those nbrs into the SMX. Maybe say by %. If SX champ beats the nbr 2 by 10 points then what's the%of points nbr 2 guy was beat by? I don't know but if you're one of the winners in either and guys take the summer off or missed more than 1/2 a season, why are you only 10-20 points down in the SMX? Maybe take 10 points away for each race missed? Say Jett or chase win both series then hunter takes the SMX he's crowned the champion with the biggest pay after Hunter may have only raced enough races to make the top 20. SMX is bringing a playoff system to SX/MX. It’s a great idea and the money they’re able to make off it is even better.
On another note you should take bets on whether or not they will allow Hampshire to race next week after obviously being concussed after landing on a tuff in the rhythm section .
Cooksey, you made the same mistake as all the young Jett fanboys over the last year by counting Tomac out because of his age. The reality is that the last year+ was ruined by serious injuries and you would've seen it that way if he was 25. It's wild how so many people ignored the fact that his injuries alone were sufficient to explain his mediocre results.
His ability and fitness are both back now so hopefully he won't get injured again before SX.

His problem were due to injuries and nothing more yet I can't count the number of times Jett fans with their loaded diapers said he was finished because of his age or some other BS. Jett now knows what's up which is why he looked like a pouty baby at the last round. And don't forget that Eli was the fastest guy of the day by far.

Yes Eli was faster it's called lap times. Eli was the fastest in practice and during the races. The Lawrence kids were lucky Eli got a bad start because Eli was as much as 2 seconds faster than Jett when they were ahead of him. And it's hilarious to say his career is fading unless you're blind, delusional or a 12 year old Jett fanboy.

Chase Sexton rode like the Chase Sexton I expected, but he's got a valid point about the track; I did not like the start being so short.
Hunter Lawrence winning was a feel-good story, and a big surprise because he withstood some REAL HEAT from Eli Tomac in the first moto, and I had doubts he would duplicate that in moto 2 if given the same circumstances. Hunter was also lucky that all he needed was 3rd to win the overall after Jett and Tomac got bad starts themselves.

There are a lot of people in the real world working construction that never get a break and make 2% of what they are making. At least they pay them well. If they want to cut the rounds down I guess the money goes away and that is there choice I guess. I get the rounds need to be cut down but the riders need to understand the money is coming from TV. Jett's biggest problem is that he is way too careful when trying to pass Hunter. I get it, but he needs to not worry so much about it. The other issue is his fitness. He isn't back in week to week race form.
Just Add them to the series add them into supercross like a triple crown.

I like your thought on the number of races. As a fan I love it, but I get the toll it takes on the athletes and their longevity. I’d like to see the SMX become the “Triple Crown” and keep it out of the SX season.
I agree the fact it just went straight into it hurts SMX. I just burnt out. The way to make SMX matter is to make it the ultimate prize because it’s not currently. The double and triple points make it lame and it just feels like a gimmicky third tier title . Ask those riders if they could win one title which one they pick . I’d be willing to say 1 Supercross 2 Motocross 3 SMX . The way to make it matter is to do away with Supercross and Motocross titles and alternate the rounds going Supercross , then Motocross next week then back to Supercross and alternate them maybe even do an Arenacross race once for a triple crown and then the top 20 guys seed in according to season points and make the SMX races be triple points than regular season meaning each race is triple points then whoever has most points is the National SuperMotocross Champion . And end that ridiculous East and West Supercross crap they need to race all the rounds .

The series was just fine. SMX added and now it’s broken. Cut SMX and go back to the way it was. These guys need a four month break with nothing going on. You can’t say a three four week break for rest. You can’t rest if you have a race in a few weeks. SMX is stupid.
I’m so happy for Hunter to get that win. I’d be so happy if he won the SMX championship. But I think Jett is pissed and he will go 1-1 on Saturday night.

I think breaks also allow for more fan appearance. Having outdoors then smx right after it's to expensive to attend back to back. Couple weeks in between makes trips to races more affordable and possible
Probably a good time for Chase to cry after a win but let’s be honest, when all the players are present , Chase comes in somewhere between the 2 and 4 positions. Sure, you gotta be there to win it BUT take a realistic look at his championships, the other top guys weren’t there. Every time they are present he comes up short, that’s the reality
I had fun at the daytime races, it was my second “Supercross” out of my home state of California I been to besides MEC 2012.
Man it was a hot one, with some day time drinking 🤣. My Biggest Bro and had our Tomac hats and we so amped on Tomac’s Riding.
Seeing Deegan then and now when I went to A2 2023 in person with the fat 238 to 1 is crazy to see!
It kind of would been a lot cooler if it started from noon and little into night.

The tracks are fine. They have to be challenging. What's perfect dirt for one rider won't be good for another. So there's no perfect track.
I think we need to cut out all the different names and make it one ((Even though its weird, i get it)) -but If we are trying to achieve a broader audience we dont need motocross, supercross, and supermotocross - just to confusing to the new fan. Should be motocross indoors 1st half of the season / motocross outdoors 2nd half of the season and then playoff hybrid. No 3 seperate winners either - all points need to be combined and winner crowned at end of playoffs. keep the playoff points the same to keep things interesting.
Mx3s on slick hard pack track, 🤷🏼♂️ probably not the best tire choice. They all used it, so probably not as hard as we think.
