Never ever have I made a pot roast like this before. Never ever will I not do it like this AGAIN! You deserve and Old Fashion cooking reward. Bless you heart a million times over. Thank you for sharing.
Mrs Mae Mae, I made this roast for my family today following your recipe. I literally did every step, just like you, down to the same seasonings. My oldest daughter just yelled out how good it is and I just finished cleaning my plate. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and stories. I appreciate you so much ❤️❤️
Wished people still cooked this way thank you for teaching me my grandmother wouldn't let children in her kitchen. Mother wouldn't either. Looks wonderful!!!!
You are the sweetest little cook. You do all the proper preparation work, like washing the meat, that no one does anymore. Thank you for sharing with us.
I agree with you I wash all my meats accept ground beef. My mother passed away 23 years ago and I still have pots and pans that belong to her. Keep your memories alive, I will make this dish thank you.
I could watch your videos all day. I think you're the best cook I've ever seen. You make me feel like I could cook these meals and not be overwhelmed. Thanks for showing us how it's done right. 😊
Ms Mae Mae your roast looks so delicious! As do all your meals. I will be preparing mine that way from now on, as it is so easy. (Flora, your 70+ subscriber)
Taste & see that the Lord is good and so is that scrumptious pot roast!Absolutely Ms Mae Mae! I learned alot from this video. Thank you and Tuck also! Looking forward to another gardening video 😁🌻💚

That pot roast looks so delicious. I love to cook pot roast. I usually cook one 3 to 4 times a year especially during the fall and winter time of the year. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Thank you Mrs. Mae Mae for sharing this recipe! I’ve made pot roast plenty of times but tonight I’m making it with your recipe! I’ve added some different seasonings but following your recipe! Thank you and God bless you and your family!
Thanks for reaching out! I thinking adding different seasoning to your knowledge and taste makes all the difference. Please let me know how it turns out.
@@MaeMaesHappyTable Yes ma’am! I will definitely let you know! My mom is from Mississippi and my dad from Arkansas and my dad taught us girls how to cook homemade southern meals! He said “you better not cook from no box…I taught you better than that” so I’m so glad to see someone making home cooked homemade southern meals! Thank you!
Oh my God, that roast looks simply amazingly delicious. One thing wrong, I’m not there to get any. Seems like I can smell it cooking. Don’t be surprised if you hear someone knocking at your door asking if you have any roast left over. Keep up the good work you’re doing and God bless you and your husband. I love you guys
Oh, my bad! This is a continuation of my comment. I mistakenly sent it before finishing it. Anyway , I was saying they just throw the unbrowned roast in the crock pot. I loved loved loved this video! And I must say your comment about using your mama's pot really touched me. My heart went out to you because I know Exactly how you feel. It doesn't matter how long it's been, certain things can trigger those emotions and it seems like it was just yesterday. God bless you and your family.
Mrs. Mae Mae, I love the old fashion pot roast. It reminds me of back home. My mama would prepare it this way and it was so, so good. You touch my heart and it looks so delicious. I also, could eat it with mash potatoes and corn. I prepare it, 4 times within a year. You are the best and stay safe.
Hey Mrs Mae Mae, I've made pot roast so many different ways and was looking for a new twist on pot roast and yours look soooo yummy 😋. I love how you break things down. Will be making this tomorrow for Sunday dinner. Tell Mr Tuck hello 👋. Have a Blessed weekend 🙏 ❤❤😊
I know you had it smelling good in there cause Mr Tuck was ready to tuck into that meal. Whenever I make roast, which isn't often, this is about how I make mine. Yummy! You and Mr Tuck enjoy! ☺️😇
Oh Mae Mae, That roast looks so good. I wish that I could come through the screen & get a piece. Love y'all & God bless ya'll. I made your other roast, so I hope to be making this one soon. Ya'll be blessed and enjoy y'alls week. Love from Lula mae&Family. 💞💞💞💞💞💟💞💞💞💞💞
My mother's favorite roast was a Sirloin tip. Since she did the shopping and cooking, that's what we had. She also would point out you're paying for the fat. I love it prepared the way ms mae mae is making it, on the stove with broth, in the oven with soups etc. The best part is leftover sandwiches or soup. Thank you💝
👍🏾 I prepare my sirloin roast the same way as this, even though it doesn't have the fat like the chuck roast it makes a delicious old landmark style, pot roast when I prepare it like this 😉 thanks for watching 💞🙏🏿
Mar Mae hello and God bless your sweet heart for this recipe makes me think of my grandmama, I make it about 3 times a year and my way is almost exactly like yours💓love you and be safe
Are you maybe thinking about ramps. They have a oniony flavor with a mild green top. I have had that in salads before. Have you ever cooked with Polk or Poke. It would grow wild in the yard and I remember my dad picking it and taking it to an older co worker whose wife would cook it. It was green and I think it had a purplish color berry. I love fixing a old fashioned pot roast. My husband likes me to use the leftover meat and gravy to add to vegetable soup to make Vegetable Beef Soup.
We really like poke...especially my daughter. The bitter the better!! When there wasn't enough by itself or to make it a little less bitter, we would mix it with other greens.👍
Hey, Mrs.Donna you talk like you’re a wonderful cook. I can sort of kinda remember my mom using something that gr grew wild that she said it was poke salad, if my memory is serving me correctly it looked like what you said 🤔🙂 I really don’t know the name but I can remember the taste 😊 thanks for watching 😇🙏🏾🥰
Mrs Mae Mae. I am similar in age to you and am just an old fashioned cook. I learned from my grandmother when I was 8. My mom was a terrible cook and hated cooking. She would thaw out something for dinner. I would call my grandmother and she would tell me how to cook it. I worked as a nurse for many years as a career, and did catering and cake decorating on the side. I have been married almost 32 years and our only daughter is expecting our first grandchild in Sept. I had back surgery that went bad in 2010 so I am now on disability. I still cook for family and friends. Many things you cook I cook in almost the same way. I am from KY. Thanks for your videos. I enjoy watching.
I have never added vinegar before 🤔 but you're right... You must cook it slows, but never over cook it's the key to a delicious roast Everytime. That's why I was pointing out the times 😉 it is so important that you know how long it will take for certain foods to break down, that way you can cook just about anything 😉 thanks for watching 💞🙏🏾
Ms. Mae Mae did you use a whole onion or half of onion to cook? I heard you say you use one onion but I just want to make sure I'm making it right. Thanks love your videos
Hey, Carmella I use 2 whole onions, I sautéed 1and put it with the roast at beginning and the second one in with the vegetables after 1 1/2 hour of cooking. Thanks for watching 😇🙏🏾🥰
I think I will make this next week. And make it a part of my weekly meal plan. I don't eat much beef, but I do like pot roast sometimes and I need to which up from chicken every now and then.
Oh my goodness! That's what I'm talking about! All the recipes I've watched for pot roast is nothing like your old fashioned down home roast! Exactly like my mama use to cook it. Most people don't dredge the seasoned roast in flour and seared it first. Just season it then throw the unbrowned

No I have not heard of it... what is it? if you don't mind me asking 🤔😍
Cant we just make our own broth for diff meats? I'll have to look
Cressie Salad is a peppery salad we use to pick out near the garden that had a slight peppery taste. Can't find it now.
