I hope you turn it into a series: how to read the pattern, how to pick out the correct fabric, on/against salvage (what if there no marking), make adjustments, etc. I have patterns I'm sitting on, afraid to use it because I'm afraid to waste fabric... I know thrift sheets for a demo...😂😂😂
I went to a hardware store and bought twenty-four, large, flat, galvanized washers. I then made sure I wiped each washer off carefully (to remove oil or grease that may be on them). I use the washers as weights to hold my pattern pieces in place (then I cut). Before I remove the washers, I transfer marks to the fabric and add a few pins to hold the pattern pieces on to the fabric. I remove the pins when I start sewing. I use one big pin to hold the pattern pieces to the wall (near my sewing machine) all together. Later I remove that pin and move all the pattern pieces to the ironing board. I use a hot iron and fold all the pattern pieces used up together (as I press and fold until they are folded small enough to return to the pattern envelope). This was the way I was taught to do it back in High School; However using washers as pattern weights is new. The weights make it easy to move the pattern pieces around until you have the best layout. Using weights keeps the pattern pieces from being blown off (or knocked off) as you work.
I love your content. I like to use the quilting pins with the yellow head for pinning. I find they are just the right length. I’ve never used the flat head pins but they seem useful for pinning to sew.
I use my sewing pencils or sewing chalk or sewing marker and weights to draw a line around my pattern and cut along the line. When it's on a fold, I might use a pin. Or draw on both sides ❤ either way works. It's all about preference I think. But maybe there is a more "professional" way idk ❤❤❤❤ I love your videos

My advice is to iron your pattern pieces, esepcially if they're tissue paper, and your fabric to make sure both are flat and as they should be so you get an accurate cut when you cut your fabric out. It irritates me no end when i see sewing tutorials online and that step is missed as it means you are more likely to have more fabric under the pattern or odd cutting lines when they should be straight, etc.

Beloved why noʻt just use a stapler?
Because using staples is more time-consuming, and difficult to remove them.
No using tips or chop, chop, chop, with a little part of the cutting area.
