Hi Jon, at present I can find the following: ProtectiveClean 6100 £109 DiamondClean 9000 £119 DiamondClean Smart £209 Would you recommend the DCS over the others even for £80 more? I do like the visible pressure sensor, but not really bothered about the app. I like the 6100 over the 4300 for the extra cleaning modes.
No, I don't. Diamondclean Smart is a great brush, but unless you really want the app etc, there isn't much point. Save the £100 and go for the ProtectiveClean 6100.
Thank for all your videos. Ended up getting the DiamonClean Smart. Bit of a geek for apps, and having something that can potentially train me with an electric brush. A plus. I used it for the first time today, and good lord. I didn't use the Easy Start mode, and left it at max intensity. Was super weird. But man. The feel on your teeth after a regular 'clean' mode brush. Is night and day with a regular toothbrush
I am finding it difficult to find the smart anywhere online in the UK Retailers do not seem to use smart in their description and I not sure the link is up to date What is the exact model number I should be searching for please?
Hi Andy. There are a few different versions of the DiamondClean Smart. The top of the line variant with all the extra in the box is the HX9954/53. I know supply/stock levels have been affected over the last few weeks and months which will be having an impact. You can see all the different versions and the stockists on the following link: www.philips.co.uk/c-m-pe/electric-toothbrushes/latest#availability=all&filters=DIAMONDCLEAN_SMART_SU&layout=96
No you do not. The options of the different brush heads exist, but they are not essential. You can use the provided brush head on any on the cleaning modes.
Can you make a comparison of the diamond clean smart vs oral b io series 9, i went for the diamondclean smart 9500 as it was on sale for €197 . io series 9 is €280 though amazon has a €30 voucher so €250 but I didn't want to spend that much as.
This video has been recorded Jason and is in the process of being edited. It will be on the channel in the near future. We have a written article here: www.electricteeth.com/uk/oral-b-io-vs-sonicare-diamondclean-smart/ In short, I think you made the right decision.
No there is no way to do this. The data from both users would sync to both accounts. It is a downside to the app/brush configuration. Not aware of a way around it.
I have not actually tried this. In theory, if you placed the DiamondClean 9000 in the glass charger, the handle would register the charge initially. But, due to the design of the bottom of the DiamondClean 9000 is would be unreliable and an inefficient way to charge.
How often to Philips update their toothbrushes? I note that the Philips diamondclean smart was first available back in August 2017, so are we hoping for a refresh in 2020?
There isn't a fixed time period that I am aware of. I would suggest 3-4 years seems to be a rough time frame. I don't think we will see a new DiamondClean Smart in 2020, possibly 2021. Question is what will it bring when what exists is already so good?!
Like your video and clear as usual. I would to know if this brush is share with 2 person with 2 brush type. Can it still monitor real time during brushing too.
It has been designed for 1 user at a time. Technically you can have 2 people use the app and log the data, but it cannot differentiate between users, so all the data is merged together and it would look like 1 person has brushed there teeth 4 times a day for example.
In my country diamond clean smart os actually almost twice the price of diamond clean 9000, so I couldn’t justify paying this much for the app. Let’s not kid ourselves, the app will be used only a couple of times at the beginning
Water resistant is a better way to describe them. They will both survive rinses under the taps etc. Many do use in the shower, but the brands don't typically recommend this. Although they would likely survive a quick submersion in water, it isn't something they are really designed to withstand.

Got the 9000 on sale for 129 on Amazon, no regrets.
It depends of the price too. Today the 9000 is less than 30% of the price of the Smart.

Hi, do you need a different nozzle for each of the different functions?
No you do not. The options of the different brush heads exist, but they are not essential. You can use the provided brush head on any on the cleaning modes.
In Japan the diamond clean 9000 is about 90USD cheaper than the diamond clean smart, then what would you suggest?
pl. both models come with the fancy glass charger and a charging case
pl2. 9000 is around $230 and smart is $320 here in japan
Unless you want the real-time tracking then you could save the money and go with the DiamondClean 9000.

Also 9500 comes in white (that's the one I've ordered because all the other colours were €270 - €300)

Wonderful comparison.
Thank you.
Can two people share the same Diamondclean Smart (using seperate brush heads and seperate app accounts)?
No there is no way to do this. The data from both users would sync to both accounts. It is a downside to the app/brush configuration. Not aware of a way around it.
Can you use the glass cup charger with the new toothbrush?
Will smart charger work with the 9000?

Are they waterproof
