Santiago also known as Santiago de Chile, is the capital and largest city of Chile as well as one of the largest cities in the Americas. It is the center of Chile's most densely populated region, the Santiago Metropolitan Region, whose total population is 8 million, of which more than 6 million live in the city's continuous urban area. The city is entirely in the country's central valley. Most of the city lies between 500-650 m (1,640-2,133 ft) above mean sea level.
Las Condes is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. The area is inhabited primarily by upper-mid- to high income families, and known in the Chilean collective consciousness as home to the country's economic elite. Most of Las Condes′ commercial activity is situated along Apoquindo Avenue, which is called colloquially "Sanhattan". It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile.
El Golf neighbourhood it was designed in 1937 by Edgard Llewellyn-Jones, who considered to build El Golf as one of the most exclusives neighbourhoods in Chile characterized by large structures of famous Chilean and foreign architects.
In the mid 1990, large family houses were leaving their spaces to modern apartment buildings and major companies in Chile. Nowadays, El Golf is characterized by its offices, restaurants, beauty salons, medical consultants and the most luxurious hotels in Santiago, such as the W, Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, The Ritz Carlton and Atton.
Among its tourist attractions are the Feria de antigüedades de Isidora Goyenechea, the Golf Club Los Leones, la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, the Plaza Perú and the Teatro Municipal de Las Condes.
As for transportation, the sector El Golf is crossed by the Metro line 1 (red) as well as it owns severall lines of the public transportation lines from Transantiago, especially through the Av. Apoquindo.

It's not about learning, sadly it's about money. This area is one of the most wealthy areas in South America so difficult to compete to be honest and the city is extremely segregated. Thank you for watching :)
@@inMotion_walks thank you. Nothing expensive about getting some paint and a paint brush and cover up the horrific graffiti through Santiago Center. It's horrible and quite depressing to see a national monument covered in political comments. Thanks for your reply and wonderful videos. Overall Chile is a beautiful place.
You can still find studio flats in this area in an older building ( 30 sq meters or less) for about US $ 150 k …but you can refurbish them well and make,them look like a 5 star hotel room with another 20k dollars…. An 80 sq meter one bed penthouse apartment cost about US$300,000 to US$ 340,000 and up .I remember the old days when these time,of flats used to cost under 100K dollars. ( 15 years ago ).
Nowadays the prices are insane, at least for a person with a regular job.

This area is where the upper middle class live, professionals, business people, politicians etc. the rest of the people live in much more modest and not so attractive or modern areas of the city, like in most cities of the world there is a very notable difference between social classes and you can see visiting the " barrios " where the lower middle class and the working class live. If you want to see where and how the rich and very rich live you need to go up to the East of Santiago and you will the millions US dollars mansions and if you don't want to see poverty don't go to the west of the city where the slums are.
You are right, we have a highly segregated city.
Nowhere in the planet you'll find a big city withhout neigborhoods of a wide range of developement according to income.
Santiago, with around 8 million inhabitants is BIG by any standard, and quite frankly, one that has a minimum of problems considering that, thanks to the stupidity of the last four or five governments,
it has had to put up with over ONE MILLION destitute migrants, plus the miserable vandalism of an
avalanche of imbeciles that instigated by "advanced thinking" (progressive?) politicians, endevour to
soil and destroy all in which they can get their claws and hoofs !!
In proportion to the size, Santiago's mid, high, and very high income communities are enormous and accessible to anyone, and so it is the size and number of parks and recreation areas, museums and liberaries, (all free). Transportation, roads, and infrastructure are second to none.
I would like that those who are so quick to judge and complain, were kind enough to tell us what is
their experience of perfect places that we should take as a reference, considering that our city has
approximately te same population of Sweden, Greece or Switzerland, and that the ones of Norway,
Denmark or various other European countries, could easily fit in a few comunas of our town.
