    oh my God!! this was soooo well done and brilliantly explained! I mean being persuasive and engaged in the conversation is one thing, but being able to analyze the situation hands-on and base your talk on that instant insight is just genius. I think they had thought it through before the video taken, but still, soooo good! This video is so underrated!

    Interestingly, scoping the challenge/project/brief has been where we really earned our money. To me, it is hands-down the most important part of any challenge, and most people are like a frog in a well - even if they have been in that well for 20 years and know every little detail. It's the upfront questioning, observing, prodding, challenging and even flashing some early solutions (with the aim of learning from their response) that makes or breaks a project in my experience.
    The moment someone wants to skip that because "we already know everything" or "we need to get to some answers quickly", it's a massive red flag and calls for even more investigation. It should not be negotiable if you want to deliver quality tailored work. And I have enough stories to prove that point.

      Since it's not negotiable do you dump a client who insists on not doing research? To what extent will you uphold that stance?

      Motif Consulting Doesn’t necessarily have to be research. More about asking the right questions upfront. If they don’t take the time for that, I’m not touching the project. Just me.

    Are you a big risk taker?! Great stance and addressing lesser of two evils 1 upsetting the boss asking them to pay for research or 2 getting bad results !

    UX don't charge for simply Design. UX charges for writing stories, observation notes, essay, user journey. All these are 'UX Doing'.
    Avoid underselling services unintentionally.
