Hi Roger, the biggest mistake and one that should have been found by the fire brigade was that they only had ladders that would reach twelve stories so if your flat was above this height the fire brigade could not get to you anyway. The added problem Roger is when a project specify the correct materials and pay for it, then find the material have been changed for a cheaper alternative so someone makes a larger margin. Agree with everything you said Roger. The government now has to have a business case to validate the need for a project, but corruption is still rife.... Thank you buddy...
So having seen the cladding on the Brighton blocks and police station come off faster than it was put up after Grenfell. It wasn't a case of fire stops though most of what I saw they never bridged the windows to the outside cladding so they left a chimney between the cladding (exactly what happened with Grenfell). Now this should of been picked up by building control who on large sites like that are supposed to go around and sample works undertaken and they didn't hence so many buildings up and down the country had the cladding removed and checked/redone etc. Politicians never think long term, just look at the Greens in Brighton, road layout a mess to force congestion and LEZ into operation, funding cut for council owned buildings to have renewables, funding wasted on the i360. Everything put into students while trying to force cars and people out of the city which will have a knock on effect for businesses and the local economy. & they're still pushing this when more and more people are now going for private transport over public due to the pandemic. Politics, where you're paid to waste money and be detached from reality while spouting bollocks.

Fire is so fast they had no chance I went to wales on holiday 2 years ago and a caravan set on fire a new caravan as well it burnt to nothing in under 15 mins it was unreal to see great video roger
Timber frame flats. What a ridiculous concept.
They are quite common. Remember when I first worked on one in Chelmsford. Really cheap and flimsy, but will still sell for the same value as concrete frame structured flats.
Well done Roger what you have just said make's perfect sense 👍👍👍
Roger when I thought you couldnt be any more of a legend. Totally agree and well balanced
These videos give me life.
You're going to be popular Roger, and You deserve it.I thought I had payed attention over the years, and lot of things you say are spot on.I've been in situations as a Bricklayer where the materials were so bad,I had to leave the job,or I wouldn't have been able to sleep nights.
I think grenfell wasnt helped by the gap behind the insulation. Wind blowing behind it like a wind tunnel makes it burn like crazy. Like a solid fuel rocket
Roger - I wish you were in charge - so much sense spoken in just 25 minutes flat. I'd vote for you
Great rant Roger, but bang on! Lots of jack of all trades in the government but a master of none!!
they call them multi trade send them out to look at plumbing jobs when they are very good at paper sticking bit of painting but no f k all about plumbing or elec s
I smiled for more than 4 seconds during that! Bisby for minister!! 😁 Brill as always thanks
In my trade of Drylining and Metal fixing it comes down to supervisor just not having a clue or proper oversight. It would also help that construction firms were held legally response for all of the sites defects, without them being subbed out to third party insurers. BG is producing low quality plaster board, yet it's sister company of Gyprock isn't. The literal fundamentals of the industry is broken, and no one seems to care.
That may be something to do with the large amount of recycled gypsum and the waste from coal fired power stations. I think the gypsum from the mines was higher grade and didn't fall apart. I am not sure about this but it needs some binders or fibres in there.
This reminds me of Theresa May appointing her mate Karen Bradley as Northern Ireland Secretary, even though the nice lady didn't know the difference between Unionists and Nationalists.
It's great to see that the Australian way of doing things isn't so different from our UK cousins. From employing unqualified and inept politicians to manage projects and portfolios they know nothing about to stealing the possibility of the next generations ever owning a home by selling houses to overseas investors with a free visa attached to them.
Can you look into electrical certification? The recent change in electrical legislation that applies to ALL landlords doesn’t apply to social housing (grenfell). It’s another disaster waiting to happen
Brilliant points Rodger. Need a guy like you run the country!
I love these recent rant videos. Keep telling it like it is. 👍
Packed a lot in there Roger. Enjoyed that very eloquent and rational. Keep it up.
Absolutely brilliant 😁loved this, great rant.
Remember those public information films? This should be broadcast as one.Fine performance Roger.
Hi Roger, the biggest mistake and one that should have been found by the fire brigade was that they only had ladders that would reach twelve stories so if your flat was above this height the fire brigade could not get to you anyway. It annoyed me because there were fire checks on all building but the fact that the ladders were short was never pointed out “until the fire and that was too late”
A good point, and hoses that would not pump that high.
Wonderful, precise, extacting and challenging. If the People of your and my Country do not or cannot understand this then my GrandChildren will curse our names!
Roger for Mayor if London !!!
10 out of 10 rant points. Was going to award 9 but you did start by saying yours wasn't a rant, glad you got carried away! Can't deny you make bloody good sense. But don't trust me, I smiled for more than 4 seconds when you really got in to your stride!
Well said... You should be the next prime minister..
Roger - you nailed it.
Spot on Roger,,, well said,,, when you come round to our house,,, You get my vote,,, did you know Harold Wilson used to come down our street and stand under the gas lamp preaching his politics,,, Maybe not as eloquently as you though. Excellent
Ray
By all accounts he was the brightest of the bright. Came from Huddersfield I think
Stop LAP fuseboards !
Well said Roger. Wise wise words. Love a good rant and you hit so many nails on the head there. Stay passionate fella!
Well said Roger. Agree with all. You have a lot of common sense which is often lacking in government.
Right behind you on everything only I would say the buy to let should be banned. Any second property should be heavily taxed to deter 2nd home ownership. Unsold houses brings the prices down of all properties making all more affordable.
Hard hitting truth speaks volumes. Keep up the good work Roger.
Regarding home ownership, always amazed me that's there a law that states I need some protective boots on my feet on site, but there's no law that suggests people need a roof over their heads, protection from the elements etc..
100% agree with everything you said Roger .. loved it. hahaha
Well Roger,I'm just gobsmacked, it started off so well and so calm, and descended into the best rant
I've ever heard.wonderful stuff.but you're right of course in everything you say.i loved Maggie, but she did indeed
sell off the council houses I'm sorry to say. Let's have more of this on your channel.brilliant. Made my day. 😊
Roger for prime minister 👍
BRAVO 100% TRUE OF ANY GOVERNMENT 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Private building inspectors hired by the builders. How is that going to work?
Really good rant that Roger. You should be advising those incompetent fouls. Get them a few blisters on their hands.
under their cheese sandwich, or something - brilliant😂😂😂
Viva El Presidente Roger 👍👍👍
Such a relief to hear someone (Roger) speak the truth. I'd like to know his thoughts on zero carbon home heating !? From heat pumps and other ideas the Eco warriors are going to impose on us all. Thank you Roger.
I love these rants. 👏🏻👍🏻
Well said Roger, absolutely agree 100%
