I made this pattern several years ago when you first posted it. And the full size throw I made turned out beautifully. And now I am using this same pattern again for a baby blanket. For me this is such a lovely and simple pattern that always turns our so nice no matter what yarn I am using. Robin thank you for sharing such wonderful patterns and instructional videos with us ❤️🧶

Another fun stitch to try. When making a border, I have always had trouble deciding exactly where to put my stitches on the sides of my project, so I just pretty much guessed making sure both sides had the same number of stitches. I see now that there can be an actual pattern for the placement of these worrisome stitches. I need to check some more of your patterns to see if I can pick up any handy hints for figuring out how to go about deciding how to devise that pattern for any blanket I am working on.
Love to watch, listen to you crocheting! This Carion Big Cake is beautiful! My favorite colors. I think I will try this pattern to make a twin-sized blanket for my 11 years old granddaughter. She will love the Lacey shells, as well as the colors. Just a side note: I crocheted two dozen face mask adapters for my daughter and her nurse colleagues on the oncology unit of the Philadelphia Children’s Hospital. I’m told they loved them and I should continue!!! It was a small project, but very much appreciated.

Had a large ball off odds and ends, made into a large pocket shawl with 51 stitches and a Three row edge around the outer panel. Made fun pockets using jean pockets for Boho look,for the end project. Thank you for this easy,tutorial.

Love the Caron Big Cakes. They make beautiful prayer shawls. Very important to be sure you purchase the same lot numbers. I have made that mistake and the two cakes I bought were very different. But, I love the colors and the feel of this yarn. 💗

Yes I have worked with Caron big cakes. I made a cardigan for myself out of three Caron big cakes. And I love the yarn! 😍 I've also used the same stitch pattern using different yarn (fingering weight) in a shawl that I made and I love that stitch as well. Never thought to put it into a baby blanket. Thank you! 😊💕
I'm definitely converted! Initially I felt it was a bit stiff but once I got used to it, I really enjoyed the weight and almost cotton like feel to it! Have you tried washing it? Does it soften up like Red Heart does? X
Yes. I got the same feeling when I was working with it. In the beginning I thought it was kind of stiff but then I really loved it. I'm sorry, I have not washed it yet. I just finished my cardigan like 2 weeks ago so I haven't had the need to wash it. I'm thinking it will soften a bit though.

This yarn looks amazing. Once things start to open up in NYC, I will be buying a cake. I completed this blankie in ALL white for my grand daughter to be ( a blessings blanket) and I added fringe because I am inexperienced with calculating sizes and I wanted to be sure it was wide enough. So yes, it was wide enough but I ran out of yarn and it ended up being a bit more rectangular than I wanted, so the fringe on 2 sides gives the illusion of an lengthier blanket. Be well.
Thank you for a lovely pattern. I just made this for a coworkers baby. I used the same yarn and color way. I loved the pattern and the first cake of yarn was one continuous yarn while the second cake had four knots tying the yarn together. That was disappointing, however the blanket is lovely. Thank you again for a great baby blanket pattern. I will be making this again.

I know its 3 years later but I have decided to use this pattern using Caron Cake (the original) in White Truffle very neutral and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Hi Robin, thanks for another lovely video, I was unable to get Caron Big Cakes here in Australia so I used Caron Baby Cakes instead for a baby blanket and I loved the end result, I plan to make a few more when Baby Cakes go on sale!
Hi Robin, I am almost finished with this blanket - but I made it larger. The border is killing me, LOL - on the sides, but hopefully it will work out. I did it in Red Heart Super Saver Ombre, color Anemone which looked more red on my screen but it is actually a deep burgundy, dusty rose dusty pink, etc.. I looked for Jordan Almonds in every store I shop in and I think it's only sold on your side of the Atlantic. The pattern was easy but the yarn made the side border difficult. I worked with this yarn a few years ago, making a Hudson Bay BIanket in the Tunisian stitch (because I ruined the real one we had) and it was soft, where this yarn is not at all. I love all your patterns and am looking at doing a mini bean somewhere in my next project. Thank you for all your videos. I wish I could make all your projects. Phyllis

You can use any yarn you like! You'd need to adjust the sizing but it will work with any yarn weight you fancy :-)

I love the feel of this yarn around my fingers. I have found it too easy to frog so make sure your connection technique is extra secure.
Coloway im using is very similar. Same colors just different hues.

Love this. Love everything you make and then teach us. My most favorite to follow. I know its 3 years later but I have decided to use this pattern using Caron Cake (the original) in White Truffle very neutral and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Cannot wait to start it, along with about 5 other projects I have going or the 10 I intend to do. LOL You inspire me, what can I say.

It is a little stiff feeling but you get used to it very quickly - it's almost cotton like in it's feeling

Hi Robin, thanks for another lovely video, I was unable to get Caron Big Cakes here in Australia so I used Caron Baby Cakes instead for a baby blanket and I loved the end result, I plan to make a few more when Baby Cakes go on sale!

Hi Robin, I am almost finished with this blanket - but I made it larger. The border is killing me, LOL - on the sides, but hopefully it will work out. I did it in Red Heart Super Saver Ombre, color Anemone which looked more red on my screen but it is actually a deep burgundy, dusty rose dusty pink, etc.. I looked for Jordan Almonds in every store I shop in and I think it's only sold on your side of the Atlantic. The pattern was easy but the yarn made the side border difficult. I worked with this yarn a few years ago, making a Hudson Bay BIanket in the Tunisian stitch (because I ruined the real one we had) and it was soft, where this yarn is not at all. I love all your patterns and am looking at doing a mini bean somewhere in my next project. Thank you for all your videos. I wish I could make all your projects. Phyllis
