Hi Steve, a couple of years down the line and I’m following the trend. At 62 I feel it’s time to step away from my usual sports bikes and settle down to enjoy the ride and scenery. I found your enthusiasm for the Thruxton, quite infectious and I’m now on the prowl for one. great vlog 👍
Cheers pal. I actually went looking for the triumph scrambler but when I saw the Thruxton RS I just fell in live lol. It was defo a heart driven rather than head driven process. All my mates that rode it called it a unique experience and was defo a head Turner and conversation starter. Let me know when you get one please? Thanks for following the channel. Next bike likely to be the Ducati Multi V4s in the new year.
@@stevesherlockrides thx for your reply. I spent a full day on a V4s, it’s a very sorted bike, but only really comes alive above licence losing speeds. The suspension is also a little on the soft side. That said it’s extremely capable. My S1000rr is away for the Winter, but come the spring it’s getting sold to fund a Thruxton. I live close to Cadwell, so I’ll still take it on track for shits and giggles, I reckon it’ll go well and I should be able to upset a few Valentino wannabes 🤣.
@Twinpot1962 I'm.ordering the full system and always get the suspension set up for me..theybare an adventure bike at the end of the day but carve through twitsies as good as the best spirts bike unless on a track
I picked up my RS a few months ago - same showcase edition - in black - Same thing happened to me, picked the bike up , within a few minutes some guy leaned out the window ‘nice bike’ I was at the time thinking about getting a Speed 1200 R/S or R1 - Ended up with the Thruxton. Whilst by far the slowest bike I’ve owned. I absolutely love it.
Do you still have it as looking at these just now how have you found the comfort for longer rides? Wrist ? How many inches did the raisers come out too
I have also a broken and bolted shoulder so couldn't live with the showcase drop handles so had the naked spec raised clip ons installed and so comfortable now
Err.... dont think so lol The GT has to be the best all round versatile bike. Want to go fast and loud and out of the mud lol. Saying that I was initially looking at tge Scrambler XE which was neither off or on road as was trying to be both

Excellent choice. Love my 2016 TTR. Everything you said! Cheers. Safe rides.
Hi Steve glad you love the thruxton! Brought one September last year with decay and pipes wow that sound and grunt made me smile to!!!
I plan to but a Thruxton rs later this year. Can't wait!! I smiled through the whole video. Well done.
Nice one. You will thoroughly enjoy and be the stand out bike for others to come over and say hi at meets etc

I know exactly how you feel. Ace isn't it
Gonna buy this when i get back from my world trip... It's so beautiful, the sound is great. I've yet to testride it, but really want to soon.
World trip, wow that's amazing. What bike you doing it on?
@@stevesherlockrides Not doing it on a bike unfortunately.
You should rent one in Vietnam and explore
@@stevesherlockrides i might rent one in the usa and do some exploring. Went for a dirtbike trip in New Zealand, that was quite good.
Very nice Steve. You’ll be growing a handlebar moustache next😉
Congratulations
Nice bike that bud, as you say, it’s something special 👏👍
Cheers Bruce. I love the way bikes may us all feel
picking mine up in a couple months for my 21st birthday. I think ill enjoy it as much as you
What model?
@@stevesherlockrides a 2022 RS
Very nice. Enjoy. Did you go black or grey/red
Please de cat as mine is and its brilliant with no impact on fuelling etc
@@stevesherlockrides grey and red, I’ll definitely be getting a full system exhaust and tune for it at some point haha
Gorgeous bike bro, glad you are happy. Riding it on the Irish Atlantic tour next year? I have a feeling my 690 super moto will lower the tone ;)
Defo yes on both counts lol
Yeh Steve - that’s a really beautiful bike ! Enjoy it mate - I’d like one to keep my Tiger 900gt pro company 😉
Thanks pal. Checking on her every hour in the garage lol
Do you still have it as looking at these just now how have you found the comfort for longer rides? Wrist ? How many inches did the raisers come out too
The Naked riser set up iis about 2 inches and better on wrist and back
Hi Steve, What brand are the bar risers?
They are triumph on and v good
About £120
Any issues with clearance with the fairing using the original riser handlebars.
It was an initial concern but I needn't have as it was all perfect without any issues
Loved my Thruxton R! Unfortunately, my body didn't as it's too broken for that riding position now😢
I have also a broken and bolted shoulder so couldn't live with the showcase drop handles so had the naked spec raised clip ons installed and so comfortable now
Did you have the dropped clip on or raised ones. I upgraded the lower ones with the bar raisers
@@stevesherlockrides I went the other way. I swapped the standard ones for lower ones.
Not surprised you feel aches
@@stevesherlockrides, It's my legs I suffer with. Wrists and back are fine. The dropped clip ons helped a bit.
Very Nice , Enjoy.
Cheers pal
Congratulations sexy motorcycle
Your going to need a bigger garage 👍
Sshhhh don't tell the wife lol
Swap the ktm in for the xe scrambler then you will have a right pair 😉
