- Downtown San Jose is embracing a new kind of eatery where you can order food to eat in, or take out, via the cloud. So-called “Cloud Kitchens” will let you order on an app, or an in-house screen. Then meals will be brought to you via a robot or a DoorDasher. Scott Budman reports.

Another catchy name but looks like mall food.
Good Luck as they are going to need it.
So a shitty version of a mall food court of ghost kitchens? I’m not understanding the concept as explained as it’s too vague and I’m sure many others feel the same and aren’t going to buy into this.
It will have In House dining and "a ROBOT will come out and serve you? Is that what he said? Or a door dash delivery person???? Wow! Bye Bye to Waitress/Server positions!!!!
Wow....such amazing concepts. Who would've thought to have a "typical mall food court" in an affluent area. San Jose... always innovating I guess 😂😂😂
You forgot one factor….the homeless will set up shop especially during rainy days. Short term plan short term solution.
Yup I actually like downtown San Jose with no businesses because if they open back up all the criminals and homeless will show up.
I don't understand this. Is it like a cafeteria, except none of the kitchens actually operate there? If I'm ordering Doordash, why would I leave my home? Am I still supposed to tip the delivery guy? Do I have to bus my own table?
It’s a ghost kitchen turned into a restaurant.
A very historic place and my respects to the community out their in the downtown and northern san jose.
SF needs a major food hall like downtown LA
No f😮😅😮king parking. The parking is so terrible.
I'll give them 6 months!
Noplace to park, traffic is aweful... won't be going anytime soon, plus downtown SJ is a ghetto... dangerous there... Other "cloud kitchens" in the BA are struggling... or hasn't NBC noticed? I doubt it...
Can we get bicycle parking as well?
It will have In House dining and "a ROBOT will come out and serve you? Is that what he said? Or a door dash delivery person???? Wow! Bye Bye to Waitress/Server positions!!!!
Ghost kitchen turned into restaurant.
The ones in the Dallas area look bigger better and newer/more modern
At least half the store fronts downtown are empty. It's gonna take more than some mall food...
grand opening.....grand closing...
OH YOU SHUT UP, ROD THE TRUMPSTER FREAK!!!!!
Kind of like LOCAL KITCHEN restaurants around the Bay Area.
How’s this different from San Pedro Square?
San Pedro Square is for upper class rich wealthy people and this place is for the riff raff.
@@celebrityrog, really Spaghetti Factory?
Ghost kitchen turned into a restaurant.
Now let’s do that in San Francisco at the pier and watch how everything will thrive
Downtown San Jose is the ghetto
Will they take food stamps?
anyone ever been to grand central market in LA?
Create reasons for people to spend time in downtown… not simply drive, stop, pick up and go… downtown SJ needs more places people can gather and spend the evening or day. It can’t all be San Pedro Square. The kind of attraction that Santana Row has but perhaps less commercial and more community driven.
Absolutely not, if we put shops in that bummy criminal people can go to that's all it's going to be down there.
There is no point if I can’t park to get off. Either there is no parking or my car will be broken into by the time I come back
The third street garage is literally on the same street
Do you know how many tweekers and homeless are there at Santa Clara & 3rd?
OH YOU SHUT UP, BRIAN THE TRUMPSTER FREAK!!!!!
Until Pandemic 2.0 happens..
Lots of options, lots of homeless.
yawn, been there done that.
you need people with disposable income.
Yup, nothing but broke students and homeless drug addicts downtown
what a joke
NBC BAY AREA NEWS IS NOT A JOKE!!!!!
