The 2nd one is totally wrong in terms of fiction books, there a lot of amazing audiobooks that engage you throughout. My way of absorbing information is through audio. In fact, when listening to an audio of a book, it's easy for me to imagine and create visualization in my head and process it well. You can't do delicate stuff that requires much attention. But you can get ahead just listening to the book and getting some work done along with it.

I would scientifically differ with the second point. Our human brain is very powerful. Though we are "consciously" doing some other work while listening, we are still "subconsciously" listening to the audio and our subconscious is still absorbing all the knowledge. The only difference is that when we are actually implementing something from the book , we would be implementing it subconsciously wonder how we did it, still it doesn't really matter as long as we are gaining out of it. Our human brain is the best piece of technology the human kind can ever experience. I urge you to try this and share your experience.

Actually it depend from person to person. The way people learn is characterized in three ways visual, auditory and kinesthetic. You may be a visual learner so you may absorb the knowledge by reading the book, at the same time some may be more receptive to the audiobook and some learn by doing the things that they learn from the book. Usually the best way to speed up the learning is to utilise all the three forms of learning.

Moreover , to read is the way of deep connection with the writer .
As really books speak. But the one who puts his ears onto their silent voices can hear these soothing words .

I put my complete focus on the book, so much that I will got 15, 20 secs or even a chapter back every time I feel like I can't understand what they just said.

The 3rd point is a slippery road, once you start doing for 1 book ...slowly it becomes a habit to quit a book if the plot or phase is rough.... it is better to finish it before jumping to new book ...

Thankfully, I haven't had these three problems but first I read the summary of the book. If I like it then I start to read the whole book. But I do research on the topic of the book.
Such as, now I want to read a book on decision making skills. So, I research on TH-cam, google and other social media pages just to make sure I will read something interesting because I become bored very fast...

    Number 1 is 200% true
Authors spend years of experience and compress it in a book
And people tell that in 5 min? Like wtf

    1. Books to listen on Audible-- fiction books-- like Cormoran Strike, fantasy novels, mushy novels-- which you don't have to retain-- but makes your evening walk pleasurable.
    2. Books on kindle-- Bill Bryson, travellogues, William Dalrymple, Amitava Ghosh. -- Books which you have to chew to understand.
    3. Books where you want smell the paper-- Yuval Harari-- chew and ruminate, Vikram Seth, Amitava Ghosh-, Hemingway.

I dont think Audiobook point is necessarily right. Sometimes that can happen with actual books too. When you have read a big chunk but the mind was wandering somewhere else. Similarly, there will be those days when you are very much absorbing the audio and somedays when you do not. Best practice is to re-listen that part when you know you weren't attentive enough. Audiobooks are powerful too in my opinion. Just different mediums.

Kya matlab Mera audible ka membership waste jayega ? 😂😢 Even though i feel that buying a paperback from the local market is better in soo many ways, i still ended up having audible membership 🙂
