Ralphus was my Uncle John. He greatly appreciated his time in WCW and always spoke well of everyone. After WCW, the simple man at heart went back to being a simple man and returned to his love of driving trucks until his retirement. Sadly, we lost Uncle John in 2019 from lung cancer. His bills and burial were all taken care of by a source who wants no credit and I will keep that anonymity but it was a gracious and generous gesture from someone people speak so ill of. We all miss him so much and I know he loved all of his fans. This video would have made him swell with joy! :)
Kind of you to share this info with the fans. Brings closure to his story. And keeps his legacy going.. sorry for your family's loss! P.s. it was Bischoff, right?
@@Shakespeare12 well its been years now and i doubt he will ever see this nor will he get upset if he does... so, the person im speaking of is jericho. i wont get into details but ill say he was very generous and took away a lot of the early worries.
Rock to Jericho: "It doesn't matter what your name is." Ralphus emerges. Rock to Jericho: "But The Rock knows that the giant piece of monkey crap next to you is Ralphus."
The level of entertainment that Chris Jericho provides at this stage of his career, no other wrestler can come close to that. This guy is on another level. No matter which brand, Y2J will forever be the man!
there were a decent amount of jericaholic signs back then, alot of them were women, I think he'd have sold a couple hundred at least i still think it was his best work, his cruiserweight title reigns were hilarious.
The fact Jericho was able to take a 2 toothed, 250+ lb truck driver and get him over shows how talented he was. Even if WCW never went under, there was no way Jericho would’ve been more than a midcard TV champ wrestler. He made the right move going to McMahon. As far as WWE, the $$$ I would’ve paid to see Ralphus with him for his WWE debut when he interrupted The Rock.
It technically wasn't his fault. Hogan, hall and Nash created the idea for bischoff. An unstoppable killing machine. That would draw HUGE money if done correctly. Of course this was hulk's WCW tho. So the big wigs at turner were in the skybox in the Georgia dome 40,000 amazing fans and one persons name on the marquis. Well two people but not one of Turner brass could name bill Goldberg. That reaction from those rabbid fans was done so because hulk's contract was up. All of them in the skybox could name hulk Hogan. And he got a half mil signing bonus because of that crowd reaction. Bill was a wrestler for 6 months at that point. As soon as the fans started backing him hall and Nash wanted him cut off at the knees. If you watch scott halls youshoot he says "we went to bischoff and said you gotta get this guy talking and beat him asap" knowing full well the fans loved the mystery of who and what Goldberg was. I was annoyed when they gave him a mic. Hall and Nash made him a Mark for himself and at the same time tried killing his push.
I met Ralphus he was a co patient in a friends room...i got there one day and my friend was in rehab and he saud u can hang out...i said u look like a guy in Wcw and saud its me and for the about 2 hours we talked ...he was so friendly and it was actually a very good convo about wrestling...and ironically he was telling me if they ever used me (i was in indies) get a contract lol
Ralphus was my favorite character in wrestling at the time! Hell, maybe of all time! Me and my squad used to make Jericho Personal Security shirts and wear them to school! We used to say he was our Savior and would be the one to stop Goldberg's streak.
People really undersell Jericho's following & run in WCW. Whether he was booked on the "midcard" or not, he felt & was treated like a much bigger deal. My friends & I loved him!
Surely seems like it. Great story teller, great mind, great memory. Along with ot course his list of accolades in and out of the ring singing/podcast A jericho 1 man show could be in his future. A year long run at a Vegas casino or something if we get back to some sort of normalcy
Ralphus was gold, I would laugh hysterically until I was cryin 😂 even my parents were watching Jericho & Ralphus in disbelief. But they were watching… 😉
Read A Lions Tale Around the world in spandex, it's his autobiography done up until his WWE debut. Fantastic book about his experience and about the business
Ralphus absolutely rocked!! Jericho was always great, but that was a genius move to bring Ralphie into the bit. Jericho and WCW honestly should have made that JPS tee shirt. Wrestling's one true Ralpha-Male was an impressive specimen.
I loved that fued between Jericho and Greenberg back in Dubya C dubya. Jericho was/is/will always be the best. He is truly a profesional wrestler who knows how to entertain.
WCW was so inept that they would have forgotten that Ralphus was one of their drivers and he would have probably showed up to work on his first day in WWE with Jericho driving the WCW lighting truck. Vince would have belly laughed for about 10 minutes straight then would have had them put the truck on TV just to stick it to Eric and Ted lol
5:17 I’m listening to this while working and when I heard Fargo, North Dakota my head shot up in disbelief lmao. I have never heard a famous wrestler say that. Good day today.
I just listened to a clip the other day from Eric Bischoff podcast where they were talking about Jericho's career and Ralphus has came up. Eric was laughing about how ridiculous it was that somehow ralphus got so hugely over.
I just stumbled across this today. Wonderful story, and "ralphus" was an amazing idea. I'm glad Jericho treated him well. He seemed like the type who'd have done anything for him, and that sort of thing is more rare with each passing day. Wrestling is entertainment, and I cant deny, Mr Riker was entertaining.

I can’t stop imagining Ralph coming out with Jerico to interrupt The Rock.
No joke, that could’ve been the greatest promo in wrestling history
Your first wwe undisputed champion Ralpus
Rock to Jericho: "It doesn't matter what your name is."
Ralphus emerges.
Rock to Jericho: "But The Rock knows that the giant piece of monkey crap next to you is Ralphus."
@Zedrik Allen not really. Hes got a bit of a gut but he actually has abs like hogan had, gut abs. As you get older you change. Hes 50

@Mat Schell wow. Missed opportunity for me. :(
I would've bought one and I wasn't even a WCW fan. I just watched WWF
That ballpoint pen handicraft .
The Ralphus "no no" finger was comedic gold.
Right!? I always thought that!

I just commented to somebody else, this goofy looking fat guy was moreover then probably three-quarters the wrestlers in the business today.
Not sure I'd want Ralph's in the WWE, because at some point he'd certainly get into Mr McMahon's personal 'roid stash...

Goldberg actually being the biggest mark in this story makes it 1000x funnier

I get really pissed off when people keep talking about Goldberg being a mark.
I love how he talks so fondly of Ralphus while burning him
I love Jericho's stories, such a good teller, crowed pleaser & hilarious haha
There is no doubt that he is and always will be the greatest storyteller of all time, on and off screen. Period.

Jericho is storytelling GOLD! Could listen to his stories all day long, wrestling related and otherwise.

You guys NEED to upload more of these Jericho segments if you have them. Fucking hilarious!😂😂😂
Fun Fact: Jericho was ralphus’s agent the WHOLE time
Y2J could legit be a great standup comedian!!
This is one of the most wholesome wrestling stories I've ever heard thanks for all you've done John Riker
As the lighting driver, he'd probably hear some shit, but you know it's bad when HE can see how poorly things are going.

Jericho is the best storyteller evaaa. Love hearing his stories.
Jericho is the definition of GOAT on and off the ring.
The pop for Jericho’s WWF debut was huge but I can only imagine the reaction had Ralphus been by his side.

Who's the other? Little Goldberg?
Other one could be Vinny Mac.

The other is Dean Malenko. He still isnt over the 1004 holds list
