Is Paul Heyman the best booker of all time? Let us know in the comments below.
Over Tony ? Pfff
@@solice6475 Tony Cocaine can't book for shit,. A guy who thinks e-fed style booking works in the real world. LMAO
Obviously he is. To this day Heyman is a nuclear option to get over whatever talentless hack Vince appoints as a flavour of the week. Case in point: dollar store Momoa aka Roman Reigns. Before Heyman nobody gave two shits. All of a sudden everyone love their „Tribal Chief” xD
Heyman, Dusty (Crockett era), Eddie Graham, Bill Watts...my Mt. Rushmore of wrestling bookers.
In the words of Daniel Bryan, “Yes.”
That build up to Tazz wow Paul Heyman is so good in the mic
That's Taz
Yeah that was epic
Paulie's Mick Foley impression is amazing hahaha
I was lucky enough to be a part of Sandman's entrance at a 1PW show and had beer poured into my mouth by the man himself. Best experience as a fan bar none.
That's pretty dope, not gonna lie
That's awesome dude
That’s a hell of a moment
The Doncaster dome? Dude I came into the comments section to say, I was there and I got the fosters can he was drinking out of still to this day! I got it signed by him post show!
@@HardlyQuinn Yeah; three-way with him, Raven, and Dreamer.
The amount of wrestlers and moments Paul brought us, is limitless. He’s just an amazing person in wrestling.
Yep and with most guys from ECW. Well they didn’t really do that well in wwe. Apart from some exceptions
@@lewisgrant7622it’s because Vince only did good with his own creations
Heyman crushed the whole thing. But especially at the end. What truly made ECW popular is they were doing everything the corporate machines wouldn't do. And we loved it.
Paul Heyman has set a high bar as a booker and a producer. I know there are some who refuse to give him an iota of credit for his early career and barely want to give him credit for his time in WWE, but the man is a certified genius for understanding psychology and the 6-60 year old male brain.
The man created ECW, made Brock Lensar a household name, and is currently the mastermind behind the best faction storyline in modern day wrestling. And not only that, he himself can deliver an Oscar worthy promo!
Paul Heyman deserves a hall of fame spot sooner rather than later.
And not to mention the smackdown six era
He didn’t create ECW, but he made ECW what we know it as today.
Absolutely!!!
This aged well.
Yep, this aged well. Congratulations to Paul Heyman🎉❤
I love listening to Heyman and Cornette. These guys get it from both angles.
I love it. Because as an outside party, I see many of the points they make separately. Vince has never clicked with me in that way. Vince is a success because he will step on you. And he doesn't seem approachable.
Cornette could easily be a guy at my local grocery store who I bump into and get into a short convo with. A friend of mine has a daughter in the ATL working in the wrestling scene there. She's met so many of the vets, I'd love to have the chance she has 😂
Last of a handful of those of a dying breed
It's been said like cornette is like a southern heyman and vice versa and when you look at how they both came up in the business, it's eerily similar just in different parts of the country, both are carbon copies of each other and great to listen to
Combine heyman, vince and cornette in someway and you have some kind of mastermind
@@nichonr95 Damned Megamind 😂
"I'm not a genius, i'm just unstupid"
I'm amazed this isn't a thing.
I met Mick Foley about 25 years ago, and he told me that had Paul not given him free reign like he did, he may not have caught on. A lot of the OG ECW guys I've met credit Paul for helping them build themselves.
Heyman is one of the top 5 most important people in the history of wrestling
Paul can do really great Steve and Mick impersonations, holy shit.
4 Real though & he let them have freedom for their characters that's great.
He does a great Dusty also
If a wrestler can make you believe in them or the story they are telling. They’ve done there job. That is the essence of pro wrestling.
Paul is considered a booking genius (albeit a lousy businessman) but he's underrated as an impressionist- his Austin and Foley are great. He's also just a really good _story-teller,_ which is WHY he was such a good booker- the punchline of his story about the guy nobody else wanted ("They call me _Taz")_ was absolutely killer.
He wasn’t a lousy business man. He didn’t have the money that wcw and wwe had lol. If he would of had that kind of money, wwe and wcw would have gone out of business.
How was he a lousy businessman? Because InDemand withheld the 2.8 million they owed ECW because they thought the company wasn't going to be around in a few months (despite them having their last full year of business being the most profitable it'd ever been) and wanted to pay it to a bankruptcy trustee for pennies on the dollar? If InDemand had given them the money they owed them, they could've worked something out that would've meant the company would still be around today.
I saw Sandman at some little independent show in the middle of nowhere when I was about 14. He was climbing ladders all over and pouring beer to the fans. I followed him around and got 3 of them. During the other guys entrance, a security guard came over to ask if I was 21. I said, "not even close". He just walked away cussing. I can't remember a single other person on the card, but I will always remember following Sandman around and drinking beer in a barn.
Everything Paul Heyman said about the best part of the ECW show was the sandman entrance and me being 15 years old drunk. I knew I wasn't the only drunk 15-year-old
He’s being humble and hilarious. But truthfully he is a genius. It takes a talent for seeing talent and knowing what fans will pay to see. Everyone else let there ego get in the way. They thought they were so in the know. They knew what’s best for business and let their idea of what a wrestler should be bleed onto tv. Where Paul understood his audience.
Who knew Uncle Pauley can do imitations 😂
Those impressions are on point
Heyman does an amazing Mick Foley impression
Paul Heyman has to go down as one of the best bookers of all time. He has to be put into the WWE Hall of Fame.
I have returned from the future. You're going to be happy
@@youcanthandlethetruth5433Heyman absolutely deserves going into the Hall of Fame, and not just being A part of the Class of 2024, but being THE headline inductee of that class.
this is pure gold! he is so underrated even by myself. I keep forgetting how smart he is and how good of a speaker he is. could listen to him for hours telling stories and truths.
Would love the complete segment of Paul Heyman speech ! Great video !
Love Paul. He's so engaging to listen to and his views and thoughts on the business. Loved the build up to him describing him working with Taz (IMO Paul's best project ever cause he was so believable as a badass). One of the greatest creative minds in the business.
Great imitation of Foley! Awesome!
Paul's impression of Mick Foley was hilarious
Happy I've met Mick!
Paul definitely knew what he was doing when he ran ECW.
That's one hell of a Steve Austin and Mick Foley impression 😂😂
I really wish Paul Heyman would join the Podcast train. I could listen to this guy talk for years!
Love how Paul HeyMan sounds like the ECW originals 👍🏿
Bro the Mick Foly impression was spot on😂😂😂
THIS. A thousand times this. #ThankYouPaul #ECW
His mick foley was legit spot on
When he said "I'm unstupid" literly flored me 🤣
ECW was so important to wrestling, Paul deserves every bit of praise and then some
I could listen to Heyman talk all day. Hope he has a pod someday.
HOLY SHEET! That Foley impression?!
Heyman is right about being willing to listen to ideas and about believing in his wrestlers. But he was also a booking genius. He knows how to craft storylines and make you care. And it comes so easy to him because hes so good at it. He even demonstrated it in this video just answering a question. He can build and hype anything up and sell ice to eskimos.
The fact that Mick ends every thought with a soft spoken "Bang! Bang!" in Paul's headcanon is hilarious 😂
if you've heard Paul talk about the smackdown 6 you can definitely see the comparisons
He similarly showed those guys he believed in them , and they rewarded him back in spades
I look back at that era of Smackdown with such fondness. From 2002 to early 2004, Smackdown was head and shoulders above Raw in every aspect you could think of, storylines, characters, in ring work, etc., and that was when Paul was essentially running the show. But then it was like Vince McMahon got butthurt that the show which heavily featured his son in law to a sickening degree wasn’t getting the kind of praise that Smackdown was getting so he decided to ruin it, putting Edge and Benoit on Raw, burying Rey Mysterio despite him becoming world champion, and Heyman was sent to OVW shortly afterwards. Good riddance to Vince McMahon and fair play to Heyman for getting his Hall of Fame induction.
Heyman's Mick Foley impression was actually really good. He has a good Dusty Rhodes voice too for those who haven't heard it
Those Austin & Mick Foley impressions 😂😂
Exploiting that loyalty and willingness to destroy their bodies is nice for Paul Heyman.
ECW felt like it belonged to all of us, it was a collective
The impressions are unreal. Taz build up was great. I could listen to Herman all day
Paul Heyman is a genius plain and simple he's got an eye for bringing out stars in people viewed as not up to the standards of other promotions
Paul Heyman is an amazing speaker in both how well he talks, how interesting he is, and in how freakishly spot-on his impressions are.
He’s such a good story teller
I could listen to Paul Heyman talk about his experiences all day. Such a damn good talker.
Shit like this is exactly why I love Paul Heyman. His mic skills and story telling is pure good and awesome as hel
Paul needs credit for being able to be perfect at impressions. There's genius
Its fascinating listening to him speak.
I could listen to Paul E tell stories all day. He's one of the best ever on the mic.
He’s such a great orator
Excellent interview
Ok, imitating Steve Austin and Mick Foley is fucking epic.
His impressions 😀
Paul Heyman took Wrestling in the 90s straight to the EXTREME and that ECW opening theme was fucking awesome and Rob Van Dam theme in ECW was Walk by Pantera 🤘
One word, captivating.
"I didnt have my glasses on. I cant see. But I turned around and in-visioned where Paul E. Might be. I'm like Fyou" - Jim Cornette
That Mick Foley was spot on
Heyman's Austin impression is the funniest thing I've heard all day
This is amazing
Out of showbiz and the ring itself, paul’s a down to earth person. Met him jn real life. Nice chap.
Love listening to Heyman about wrestling. I'd pay for all the rounds to listen to him.
His voice impersonations are top notch 😂 I would listen to him all day doing impersonations
I could listen to Paul Haymen tead ne a phone book and I would still be captivated!
Love Paul's impressions xD
I could listen to Paul talk about wrestling for days
Interesting of course, loved every second of the video.
Love the impersonations 😂
Excellent behind the scenes view of a master who has fallen, gotten up, fallen, and got up again and again.....now making loads of people $$.....
Where can I watch this whole interview it looks amazing
Love me some Paul story time
That was a phenominal foley impression!!!!
My two best moments at live wrestling shows both include the sandman
Is it just me or is Paul doing a close to perfection imitation of a pogchamp face on the thumbnail? The dude looks like the original
My 1st wrestling show was at ECW arena int he summer of 96.....I was 19 and was drunk af...right before I enlisted...oh to go back
Now I want a Joey Styles interview or biopic
Thats a fairly good Foley impression!
The smoothest talking con artist to ever exist! But I still love this prick!
4:21 great quote
Please upload the full interview
Paul is the last non wrestler left who needs a Conrad Thompson podcast.
Heyman wouldn’t be able to get a word in edgewise.
CONrad Thompson
Does this channel ever post a full video of something? What’s with all the short short clips?!
I would love for someone to animate a cartoon of Vince and the wrestlers, and have Paul Heyman do all their voices 😂
I really miss ECW. I loved it way more than WWE and WCW.
Where can I listen to the full versions of these
Paul going in deep in yesteryear for examples lol
Bill Frailic....wow
Watch any interview from new jack on Paul heyman
I'm still mad Taz didn't get pushed in WWE
You can tell this was filmed in the UK, look at the sainsburys bottles lol, big ups to inside the ropes though
Guys managed or booked by Paul Heyman, to name a few:
The Undertaker
Steve Austin
Mick Foley
CM Punk
Brock Lesnar
Roman Reigns
Rob Van Dam
The Big Show
Kurt Angle
He's hilarious!
Haha the best mick foley/ cactus jack impression ever
Master impressionist
I am gonna miss Paul heyman when he retires
Raven and sabu
There are legend
For some reason, Heyman reminds me of George Carlin with the way he talks.
He's right. It's as simple as that.
