Awesome build! I find it hard to believe that was your first attempt at weathering. And the wheels/tires treatment fits right into today's 1 to 1 world concerning patinaed vehicles!
Great build. One of your favourite colour schemes (orange and blue). The sheet of panelling in the bed is inspired, a great, cheap solution to cover the floor of the bed.
Vary Cool think it was a job well done but yes I have been watching you long enough to know you have stepped up your game .Still I like it good to look back and see where we were to where we are that's a 🍪🍪🍪 job 👍
Very cool, I really like revisiting old projects like this! I just built one of those little yellow bikes, AMT included it with a bunch of kits but in my case it was out of the original Bigfoot.
I was at the Good Guys Show in Pleasanton on Sunday. Your truck would have fit right in! I have the AMT 50 Chevy pick upthat I was going to build like a truck I see every once in a while, but there were a few at the show that had very cool patina, so I will probably need another Chevy p/u kit.
WOW Bryan! I'm like everyone else and I'm FLOORED that this was your first attempt at weathering a model. I think that the "patina"is good looking and those wheels & tires look appropriate on the truck. The wood paneling in the truck bed was a clever idea. So this is the original model that set you off on the Weathering Path"? I'm glad that you're doing a Model Cars & Coffee too but if you wanted to make your videos stand out from the rest, how about "B.G.'s Brews & Builds" 🍺or the "PG" version, "Bryan's Bacon 🥓& Builds"🤣 As you're describing your weekly build you could be munching on some delicious bacon.😂 Take care & stay cool Bryan. Tom S.
Hi Tom! Thank you!! yep, this one was the first one i really went for the patina and weathered look. before i would just weather the chassis or the engine bay. Glad you liked my wood paneling idea LOL. it was the best i could do at the time and now i really like how it looks! LOL, now that's a fun idea! Should i live the dream and sip a beer while filming a video A la Charlie Mac? LOL Nah, I'll stick with the coffee deal for now. And i learned a lesson about eating pizza and work on models!! so the bacon would be a pass for now LOL. thanks the for fun comment !
You say there is no "story" to this build, but I will tell you this: art is subjective and often expands beyond the artist's original intent. This is the 2nd build of yours I have seen that has a "dessert vehicle vibe". Makes sense with where you live right? Vehicles that are saved the tinworm of snowy winters and salty roads, but whose finishes are absolutely punished by the UV damage of decades of a dessert sun. As for the bike, I had an MPC Datsun "Dessert Rat" that came with two Husqvarnas back when I was a teenager.
Hi Jason, thank you for the very kind comment. I think you are right about the bikes. I got mine from an AMT parts pack that had just the bikes included. I recall MPC had a long bed Chevy step side pickup that came with two bikes also! 😁
Great build BG, thanking for sharing.
Thank you Donnie!!🙏

Great build. One of your favourite colour schemes (orange and blue). The sheet of panelling in the bed is inspired, a great, cheap solution to cover the floor of the bed.
Thank you Steve! My wood grain painting wasn't yet up to par so it was my only fall back plan.
Your build looks great!
Thank you Mark!!!!😁🙏
You showed me your underside! (Of the truck). 😂 Looks great, regardless of it being an old build and the start of your weathering adventure.
Thank you my friend!! I learned a lot after this build, i feel this was a great bench mark to start with in the world of weathering!
I love that truck Brian! I did a similar style on my Ranchero. Happy Sunday ☕😎👍
Hi Mike! thank you sir!! oh sweet! Sometimes a build is just calling for a patina! =)

Scale Motorsports makes a Mexican blanket decal sheet.
ah ha! perfect! thankyou Tony!! I'm going to make a note for future builds!!
Beautiful work! How did you score the balsa wood to make it so realistic? Thanks!
Hi Jimmy. I picked it up at hobby lobby. Most stores have a small section of stuff wood for craft purposes
The weathering actually looks great. Story or not. I weathered the same kit. It's the '65.
Looks great
Howdy! THANK YOU!! i could not for the life of me recall which it was! These trucks look amazing either weathered or customized!! =)
