Ive been ranting (to myself) for the last like two years about how rotational ai.m assist is stupid for crossplay and how gyro/flickstick should be the new standard. Im glad to see that i wasnt full of shit and that it really should be the new controller input standard 👍
@@xCl4udiu5x ive wondered about that before. Maybe fighting at range with gyro will be the skill gap. Time will tell if people are able to figure that out, time will tell.

As a kbm player I find gyro so sick that I’ve even messed around with it for fun. I used to play a lot of quake and thought it might be fun to see how well it worked. Surprisingly I did decent even with bare minimum practice. And like you said not running out of mouse space is huge for movement lol. Hope gyro goes big someday even though I’d never main it myself

Very nice explanation. I'm in the camp that believes that the lack of innovation in the base controller design plus the lack of hardware options for gyro-supported controllers are the major factors that's holding back the gyro input method. It sucks, but at least you're getting the word out there! Thanks for that.
- Make multiple videos barely mentioning motion controls - accumulate millions of views and thousands of followers - post this video. - gyro aim is saved :D (Final fantasy fanfare starts playing in the background) Hahaha! Jokes aside, I'm really glad you made this video, hope people get it!
I'm thinking about transitioning to gyro for all but Counter-Strike (somewhat) because I want my counter-strafing to be precise in CS. While sticks are much more ergonomic since you don't have to hold another button to walk like in M&K, sticks are not tactile and fast to counter-strafe. The Fighting Game Community is going through their own controller fiasco with the "Hitbox Controller" (AKA leverless) and how you can change walk directions fast as well as do command inputs fast on Hitbox because it's a keyboard layout but with arcade buttons for movement. If a pro were to use gyro it would not be with a controller. I think it would be with a VR controller on one hand and a keyboard on the other (which I might do if I go full gyro on Counter-Strike.) Hopefully gyro phases out aim assist because of how stupid it is. Great video and discussion.
So right about mouse technology being far ahead of controllers. In saying that though, we're doing what we can with the controller tech we have and we'll only get better with future tech.
Love the dedication and passion towards controllers and gyro, I've also been trying to push the boundaries of what the controller can do with a vid in my channel of me hitting 98k on gridshot aimlabs with controller. Big ups to you man!!!
Amazing video man. I have been shitting on aim assist for a while and whenever I get in debate with someone about it being not possible to play against pc players with controllers that aim assist is needed for them. I use you as a reference of its possible to play good especially with gyro that they just need to practice and ditch aim assist cause its a toxic feature in fps games needs to be ditched imo. Keep kicking k&m users with that controller man
We need a standard controller layout if we want Gyro aim to succeed. And a game that should be the gateway to gyro aim and flick stick. Valve had made the Steam Input menu for controllers. Gyro aim and Flick Stick are only available for the Steam Deck, Steam Controller, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch controllers. Xbox doesn't have any and Microsoft is behind on that technology. If you want to settle the argument of KB&M vs controller, get Gyro aim as an option to open up. Generate some buzz about it. Gyro aim is all skill from the gamepad player, like kb&m players. Close the gap between KB&M and controllers to point where it's a matter of preference. Heck, there was a time when CS:GO had native gyro aim and flick stick settings in the options. It was fun playing the game on the Steam Deck, and the Steam Input allowed me to modify controller bindings to whatever action I want to use on a specific button. Another point that should've been mentioned in the video is that Aim Assist are often used on controllers because of the lack of precision and accuracy the joysticks have to offer. The gyroscopes bypass the issue and use the whole controller like a mouse in the air, and you can hold a button to pause it when using the Steam Input, or on Fortnite's Touch and Motion options. A mouse uses motion directly from using your hand and arm, translating the camera movement in a one to one manner. Joysticks can move the camera sure, but it's a vague command that keeps telling the camera whatever direction the joystick is being pushed. When it's calibrated correctly, the gyroscopes read motion input by rotation, and it translates the camera in a one to one manner, just like with a mouse. Flick Stick is a new input method where the camera rotates horizontally based where you flick the stick to. When calibrated correctly, you can flick 90 degress by flicking to the right, or do 360 turns by spinning the whole stick. The only drawback is that it only rotates horizontally, but since it should always be used alongside with gyro aim, the drawback is mitigated since the gyro can help you aim up and down as well. Flick Stick is the new controller way for wide mouse movements to change directions.
Your statement at 5:20 about people without m&kb experience is another reason why I think there should be a PS5 port with crossplay. It could have gyro by default, and easily accessible flick stick settings. We could improve accessibility, allow friends to play together, and hopefully make gyro more mainstream.
Hello Mr. Hard Scope. Do you bind voice chat on your controller as well? Regarding Gyro aiming, it is an emergent technology in modern fpses. It's been on a market for a while but in PC gaming it is stil a new thing. I hope to see the gap closing between mouse nad controller in the nearest future. Great vids :)
In my videos I play no aim assist max sense with the joystick and honestly its not as bad as people make it. Im able to snap to any target no matter what, and im about to track targets perfectly. I think gyro is definitely revolutionary, and it needs to be advertised more, but i think no aim assist on controller with just a stick isnt bad at all. Not many people understand how to do it and there is definitely a learning curve but i doubt the learning curve for sticks is anywhere near the learning curve for gyro. The biggest issue I've seen is that people wanna be good fast and they dont want to put in the necessary work to be good or professional and i blame aim asisst and people who think they need it. I've played against mnk players in 1v1s or in the middle of random gameswithout it and I've come out on top multiple times and the main thing ive seen that tends to determine the outcome of the 1v1 is SKILL and understanding of the game. This has also been shown with the 1v1 between jynxzi and shroud. Aim assist isnt needed, Skill is needed but a lot of players are lazier about it.
Another thing to think about. Every game treats stick aim almost completely different from one another. It's frustrating. Cod, Halo, Battlefield, and overwatch stick aim all feel almost completely different from one another, and consumers are at the mercy of devs making it that way on console. With steam input, you can map it to mouse and mess with an exponential curve, and it generally feels a million times better than half the crap console games tend to use.
@tekgeekster I've noticed that. It's very annoying. Playing Cod then switching to apex feels so terrible cause on apex I have hella stick drift but on cod it's so smooth. It bothers me most of the time

It is kinda the same with pen and tablets for fps games where they have a place in being competitively viable but the lack of hardware and usage over the playerbase is too small to actually make a push to catching up to mnk.

Last time i tried this, i tried it with a generic controller PCB, with 3 buttons and it did in fact (not) suck!
What is your ingame sensivity with the steam layout?
I just found 3.8 in you other video
hello, i wanna know how you counter strafe witth the controller
also, when wilk you release your vid on setup
i know these type of questions are super annoying but what is the map at 2:50
kz hub
I was getting coached in val and he said smth about controller and I argued that controller was just as accurate as mouse. He said why don't people use it then? I gave him a list of reasons like you need remapping software, it's a pc game, etc and he said yeah but I think you're missing the main reason. Honestly some people are annoying
When can csgo2 adapt to the native controller?
Bro you good player. sorry my eng very bad
Hi from Russia
well, it's cool that once there will be 1 player with 10 thousand hours playing on the controller in cs 2, they will shoot videos about him and be awesome how he plays like that
da goat
I been thinking to switch fro mnk to controller, is it worth it?
If you're willing to put in the hours yeah. I don't play CS with controller, but I have 750-800 hours clocked on MW2 playing nothing but gyro. It's an absolute blast
i can do this on dualshock 4?
I’ll give it a try
How do u counter strafe if i can ask i am very curious
He mentions that at 2:21
With gyro controls that PS4 and PS5 controllers have, I always feel like maybe we could see CS2 on PS5. Well, that's not gonna happen but it would still work okay, so long as there isn't aim assist or crossplay. Just stick to the old roots.
Must be wireless?
Tried controller for cs2 from pro splatoon but my muscle memory is holding me back way too much, still plenty fun for on the go but im sticking with keyboard for faster awping and more consistent movement. its a shame i cant make the switch easily because my gryo aiming is way better than mouse aiming
Hm maybe using the dpad or 4 back buttons for movement could help?
Scatter @ Mid: Smoke! THAT'S ME, MA I'M FAMOUS
I wanna see more videos from you
DID OHNE MAKE YOU POST THIS
can i get your video settings
I can see controller being viable for competitive play. We just need higher quality gyro sensors.
Do you even 1v1 viewers I wanna see how I hold up against you
So glad someone finally also mentioning how painfully far ahead MNK tech is compared to controllers
One day we will get u guys out of the trenches and into the 60g, 2000hz gyro controllers with no stick drift. Today is not that day tho :/
i would like to try gyro but i dont think my tremor is gonna help 👍
give precision zone settings in steam input a try or even speed deadzone. i don’t have the steadiest hands myself.
