- 3 Scenes from #Dune made entirely from Scratch in #blender and rendered in cycles. No plugins were used for the creation of these. I will be making a tutorial on this soon.

Nails the imposing scale that Villeneuve is known for. Feels like I'm watching a deleted scene.
Thank you! Appreciate it :) Scale was one of the main things i was trying to hit, when working on this :)
Absolutely incredible that feature-film level effects can be replicated! 25 years ago that would be beyond impossible, just unthinkable! Great work.
Thank you for the kind words!
I like how the ships coming down look like chess pieces
They do look like rooks, I agree :D
ah the floating towers of powers
They do look like chess pieces, although in the sequence after they are landing horizontally, which i found weird and interesting at the same time.
In harder SF ships are oriented vertically because objects inside are pushed towards the engines when under thrust, but they often land horizontally to make unloading cargo easier.
@@darenzd4939 its an angle from the ground looking directly up, that's why the sun is so bright and central
@@arthurjames9807 im not sure thats the case, because the highliner is horizontal hmm
@@darenzd4939 in a way this kind of represents how the atreides were coming to their destruction. before they were royal and grand like chess pieces but when they land on arrakis they fall like what happens to a king after checkmate
Got the chills. Great work!
Thank you sooooooo much ;D
I'm impressed👏
Hi! Thank you, I will be dropping a tutorial / breakdown in May. If you want to be updated, feel free to subscribe to get a notification :)
Hell yeah brother. Excited for the tutorials
Amazing indication of scale, very well done!!
Thank you! That is exactly what i was mainly focusing on :)
This looks incredible, well made
Good work! Looking forward to your tutorial
Oh my, can't wait for the tutorial. I'm shocked
I’m hoping to have id done sometime in may! Hopefully as soon as possible :)
Nice! I also did this exact shot in Octane Render hahah
Good work man!
Dudeee i had your image also as s reference, i think you did a far better job a t modeling and realism :D
@@darenzd4939 Nah I think your texture is way better. Super keen to see more stuff you make!
@@jakelutz5186 i disagree haha, you added also the red detail on the rims, i wanted to do it, but when i saw how it would uv unwrap i didn’t want to bother with it :’)
This is excellent
Thank you! Appreciate the support :)
great job, Daren!
Thank you! I will be dropping a tutorial in May :) So see you then hopefully
Not sure if this is from a movie or you made it?!?! Amazing!
It’s in the movie.
great work!
Thank you so much!
WOW!!!
What is that gray ship they pass through? Can someone provide more detail?
It’s called the highliner, it basically functions as a wormhole between 2 points in space. That’s also why its tunnel shaped.
Thanks, appreciate it.
Looks amazing. How long did this take you?
I’d say each scene 3-5 days i had to do a lot of geo nodes research for shots 2 and 3
Was there a Havana band wrapped around the hieghliner.
No, but there are inward extrusions, if those are the lines ur referring to. I used actual concept art references to reconstruct the highliner. I think if you type highliner concept art, you will find it :)
i don’t think it’s coincidental that the Villeneuve’s interpretation of the Guild heighliners resemble the sandworms of arrakis
I think its a mixture of both looking like sandworms and wormholes in form of a tunnel.
Weird that the ship looks like a sand worm.
I thought of that as well, but if you watch the full sequence in the movie, the ship looks like that because it is quite literally a tunnel between 2 points in space. So the ship acts like a wormhole actually :D
I thought it was a mothership used to carry the smaller ships@@darenzd4939
verry cool, reminds me of alien covenant
Thank you! These are shot by shot recreated from the arrival sequence in pt 1 :)
please do a tutorial or breakdown of this. great job btw
I am making it! Just recorded the first video :)
Did you do the Sound design too? Love it
I did not, i had an accomplice :D
These wormhole ships cool af
Yup! Highliners, im making a tutorial about how i created these shots.
Odlično
Hvala ti!
epic
Thank you!
if you could make some extended scenes with these renders that'd be fire
What do you mean?
@@darenzd4939 like different angles and stuff
@@darenzd4939i think what he means is make more animations using these assets into original scenes that didnt exist in the movie, just for the show of it and because its cool.
@@Despotic_Waffle i might do that after i finish the tutorial :)
I've just realized that highliners look like sandworms. Also my hands are really huge, and I've go the munchies.
ooooh nice lens flares how'd u do that
that's just a simple stock overlay i did in post :) I found the resource on youtube
Is Highlander here work as portal ?
Yes! Like a wormhole :D
This sound is great. What is it?
It was custom made by someone else :)
So the Doomsday Machine was built by the Space Guild…. Figures….
What sountrack name is this???
Haha, it is custom done by someone else specifically for this shot :)
@@darenzd4939 either way, the soundtrack is very creepy, suits dune universe really well. You could say it has almost the same feeling hans Zimmer's style. :)
@@evildragon1774 I will be sure to forward that!
A space sand worm
Or space wormHole ;)
Se isso fosse no Brasil, ia ter um monte de gente piscando os celulares na praia e queimando pneus, KKK.
I will never understand why the Atreides didn't manage Arrakis like the Harkonens did. Why did they move the entire family and army from Kaladan
Good question!
Export in Imax Ratio please
This is in 2.35 which was wat the first movie was shot in :)
Are you available for hire?
In the later part of may, yes.
This space ship looks like sand worm
SandWorm, or Wormhole ;)
are there any bits of the movie than haven't been posted on here yet? i mean, i really don't care, but someone glopping away over a littlewoods catalogue in their mum's spare room will probably want to see them.
This isnt from the movie though it’s fan made.
@@darenzd4939 then even more reason for them to get out of the house for a bit, get some vitamin D, see what the real world is like, with real people, on earth, not some fantasy planet with imaginary giant worms.
@@user-rs9wb1sw3q why not take s pc outside
@@darenzd4939 why not just go outside? experience the real world, not some programmer's idea of it. a bit scary i know, nowhere to hide, no keyboard to fight your - their - battles, just actual reality. it's nice, you'd like it, and it would be something to blog about.
@@user-rs9wb1sw3q why though? Why not stay at home
That's how covid spread
Who's spaceship looks like a worm?
Highliner, the spacing guild wormHole :)
@darenzd4939 thnx... is that emperors then? Or the spacing guilds?
no fucking way. no no no no no fucking way.... no fucking way...
What :D
Remind me the black monoliths in 2001 space odyssey.
deakens hates chromatic aberration !
What do you mean?
@@darenzd4939he means Roger Deakins, despite Deakins never working on Dune.
@@philcollinslover56705 thats what confused me lol, since i used actual reference images and matched the abberatioj based on it :D
I don't get want ppl like about dune, I watched like 30 mins of the first movie and that was enough, it's just weird.
Maybe you're too young.
Maybe that’s the problem :/ although there’s nothing weird in the first 30min lol. Unless you maybe watched the lynch version
Go watch transformers then. You probably get rock hard hearing “I…am Optimus Prime”
Nope. Nothing phallic here. Move along.
what is this crap?
I agree
