My favorite thing to watch when watching Avery and Brown is the slo-mo from the front angle (them running toward the camera at the finish line). Avery is talking to Brown the whole time and Brown is always ever so slightly leaned in toward Avery. This one doesn’t show it very well as others I’ve seen, but I can’t help but cry seeing it every time. The trust and the connection between these 2 are absolutely beautiful and I am honored to bear witness. I am in such awe of these athletes (both Paralympian and Paralympic Guide). If the Guides didn’t receive medals too, I would lose my mind. This is a team sport regardless of it being an individual event.

One thing about myself I hate is complaining. I complain about having bad vision cus I don’t have 20/20 vision but I forget about the people who have it worse than me. Then I realized I’m blessed and should be thankful. These athletes are amazing and inspiring

Their times are way faster than I anticipated, super impressive. Do the guide runners get medals too? Might ought to since they put in a hell of a lot of work to be in that kind of shape as well as the trust building it takes between the pair.

Notice how the "seeing" Partner was ahead of his blind Partner but once heute realized they gonna win,he let his blind partner cross the finish line before him. He visibly slowed down. Sportsman 👍🏻

I agree that it would not be the same if usain bolt just runs the 100m blindfolded for obvious reasons.
But i don't assume the person above does think this.
The paralympics for a blind person's is a category on it's own.
Knowing this it is only complimantary to say that someone who has an advantage would still not be able to do it.
Just to name one reason like the cometator said you would have to learn to running in perfect unisense with your guide.
That is why i think what he said is not saying it is comparable.
But that he said it instead to show what an unique performance it is!
