Would be cool to see them try to get Tommy Pham from the White Sox in the immediate future. I know it’s inter-division but a guy like Brent Rooker from the A’s would be dope IMO.
It could be a very weird deadline too. With the new playoff format and how many teams are “in the race” right now, there may not be many teams wanting to sell.
@@TheShowNoob10 that tells me that they will need to give up too much. The juice probably won’t be worth the squeeze. That is what I’m afraid of what you say comes true. I don’t know what the answer is with this franchise. Overspending in free agency is completely idiotic(especially when ownership refuses to add a lot of payroll. The Dodgers can get away with overspending. The Mariners can not). I don’t know what the answer is here. I was afraid this was going to happen a couple of years ago. They did a half assed rebuild. Not a full rebuild like the Astros did. Along with players who just didn’t pan out(Kyle Lewis, etc)
I get that point of view for sure. Overpaying at the deadline is hardly ever worth the squeeze long term. But with how this pitching staff is performing right now, I feel like you at least have to try something. I'm afraid if they don't try to make something happen this year, they could just end up in the limbo of mediocrity for years. And it would be a shame to waste a pitching staff like this. This kind of staff can make a very successful playoff run. Granted the pitching staff could do it again next year...but there are no guarantees IMO
Is very obvious Dipoto is not the right GM to build a balanced roster, he's amazing at pitching but terrible at offense, and pretty mediocre at roster construction overall. Dipoto fans would say is ownership fault for being cheap and even blame Servais. Lets remember there are teams better than us with a smaller payroll so is a lame scapegoat for his mediocrity. Dipoto always gets aging 30's players on decline. I'm not too excited for any potential trades he could make,hopefully this time FO finally gets a good fairly young hitter and not another aging, high strike out mediocre hitter past his prime 2 years.
Glad you showed j rods defensive highlights. He doesn't have any offensive highlights. Need to fire servais, he can't help the mariners manufacture runs and put the game in motion. Time to figure it out Scott servais or go
In retrospect I wish I would have put more of his defensive highlights in there lol. Hopefully 2nd half J-Rod shows up and gives everyone some electric offensive highlights!

Given how the Astros are heating up in the division they should make a big trade before the month ends and overpay if they have to.
Trade with who? A lot of the teams we would potentially trade with are still in wildcard contention and not sellers at the moment.

They will have to wait until other teams want to trade. That probably won’t happen until the day of the trade deadline

Scott Servais is not to blame for your theorical 1-5 all playing well below what they should be.
they missed in '23 by 1 game, because of the paul sewald trade. Oh, and thats why AZ got in the playoffs
