- 12S on sand track is to much for this ESC.
It failed in a spectacular way with a flame and then a lot of smoke.
This happend on my first run in the morning on the bashmeet in Sandhem, sweden.
It did not overheat, the cause was probably the current spike when the car was stuck on that tire and i tried to wiggle it loose.
Did a lot of running on 8S w my other car with identical esc without any esc issues. I have also before this meet done a lot of 8S running with the dragon hammer voltz with the same esc.
I am therefore convinced that on 8S this is a good and reliable esc. And i will therefore buy a new one of the same model but then consider it 8S max and ignore the supposed 12s rating.

ESC's tend to do that when the user uses a motor with too high a Kv and a pinion that's too big. I have mine pushing an 18kg DNT (Losi 5ive clone) and it's never broke 40c when bashing it hard.
What motor? kv and gearing?
Anthony Davis I’ve heard this before. What motor are you running? I plan to run ZTWs motor that comes with the combo set up. The motor is a 620Kv. I also have a Losi 5T clone.
Aj inte roligt,jag har en Losi 5ive 2.0 och vill köra el,ska jag köpa ZTW och köra 8-10s lipo utan problem?,har sett att de sätter kondensator bank på 9000 uf som klarar 15s.Ett mgm är ju över 7000kr.

Mgm håller inte bättre vet dem som blåst flera. En rejäl 700kv motor på typ 58x113 eller nåt sånt driver en 5ive t eller w5 till betydlig högre farter än bensinarna även på 8s.
Jag har väl ca 10 körtimmar på mina 2 ztw på 8s utan ras hittills.
Köpte själv ett nytt likadant med avsikt att köra bara 8s på allt utom plan asfalt.. Men tiden får ju utvisa om de är så driftsäkra som jag hoppas.
W5 i klippet har f.ö samma mått som 5ive t. Vikt ca 18.6 med batt

Tyvärr är eurokursen som den är just nu.... men fortfarande halva priset mot mgm.
De har en del motorer också. Men jag köpte min på rc juice i usa. Mkt p.ga att min bil behöver lite lägre kv än de vanliga 800 kv motorerna. Mitt elkonverteringskit använder bensinmotorns kopplingshållare och piniong och därför finns det inte hur låga drevningar som helst.

Jag kommer tillverka mitt eget motorfäste och lipo platta,för har både pelarborr och fräs 👍,om inte jag väljer Ztw har jag tittat på Hobbywing ezrun 1/5 800kv och 200a esc,kan det räcka och 14t -16t 🤔 och 8s

I think the burst current on 12S was too big when the car got stuck on that tire.
Sounds probable but not good when it happens. I had the same thing with an Alien esc a few years ago. I just put the ztw in my xmaxx. Still testing it out so far. Getting the gearing right
@@TheoCook i think it will handle just about any gearing in your maxx as long as you stick to 8S or lower. I would have been a lot more concerned about the quality of the ztw if this had happend on 8S. My Dragonhammer did 90 minutes of running yesterday. That is 24.6kg car on the same track w a gearing that isnt that low and a motor that is 70120 size
That is a heavy car. Mine is about 13kg. But obviously very different from yours. I would like to run it on 12s but will take it easy to start. What esc do you think you will get to replace the ztw?

I will buy a new Ztw.
I dont think other escs in that pricerange is better. Especially for a car that heavy. Both my cars do 80-90 kph on 8s which is more than enough for track . 12s I will Only use for speedruns on flat surfaces in the future.

@@sundell79 8S går bilen snabbare på bana p.ga mer linjär o körbar gasrespons. Finns inget skäl ens i sandhem att köra 12S egentligen.

@@sundell79 går i princip inte dreva lägre. Är ju bensinarens pinionger och drevningar. Och med ett sånt här esc på 8s har jag inte haft några värmeproblem. Med fjolårers fick jag alltid köra eco driving för att inte överhetta.
