Joe and Mika lost me forever when they kissed the ring. Shameless and gutless on their part. Jon Stewart’s response to Mika’s question of “why not?” was perfect: “Because you said he’s Hitler.”

It’s possible for some at MSNBC to survive and adapt. I respect Hayes, Maddow, and Lawrence. They just can’t survive in their current format. I think any of those three would be excellent at podcasting. Jon Stewart has gone that way. His weekly podcast is on my list every week.
As for Joe and Mika. Joe is an arrogant ass and Mika follows him like a puppy. They didn’t care about opening communication. They are scared of Donald. Appeasement has never worked and kissing the ring won’t save Joe and Mika. Donald never forgives or forgets a slight.

FOX never told you that - "Crime is going down" while actually violent crime has gone up 4.5% in 2022 ..... .. "border walls don't work" (Harris said they did not work and now pledges to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the wall along the southern border), "Biden is sharp as a tack" (just watch the debate, if you can stand it), there were 800,000 more jobs created than there actually were, inflation was temporary (actual 18% cumulative overall, 25% FOOD), the border is secure (actual at least 8 million illegals), Putin is the cause of inflation, the Hunter laptop was Russian, or that 1/6 was an insurrection even if not one person has been charged with insurrection...that was all Harris/Biden, and you fell for it ....Let that sink in.

We learned from grumpy city editors who pounded their desks and threatened us with holy hell if we assumed anything or added any superficial frills to our first efforts at reporting. Carol, I'm an Air Force veteran and I can tell you that as a service member we were not given an option to watch anything other than right wing media in public areas on base.
When people eat in the cafeteria on base, everyone is forced to listen to and watch right wing media. This routinely put me in a great deal of emotional distress and adversely affected my digestion. I assure you, the powers that be could not have cared less.
And I'll have you know that this Childless Cat Lady voted for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Colin Allred.
And furthermore, no way do I believe that Cancun Ted won legitimately. There is a staggering amount of corruption in Texas! Do you remember when nearly 60 Texas Democrats flew to DC in the hope of obtaining help from the federal government to combat the additional Republican vote suppression bills that the Republicans were trying to push through? To my knowledge, nothing ever came from that visit.
That is worth repeating. We, Democrat Texans, have not received help from the federal government regarding the voting suppression going on here in Texas.
I hope that clears up the misunderstanding people have of thinking we voted for this disaster of a clown.
It never ceases to dismay me that so many people lump large groups of other people together. Not all veterans voted the same. Not all Texans voted the same. Not all women voted the same. Do you see what I'm saying?
Carol, please know and understand that No Way In Hell will I watch right wing media. This white, female, veteran, childless cat lady, Democrat Texan voted for Humanity. I voted blue all the way!
Now I will admit that I was dismayed that I had to skip some voting options because there were some Republicans that were running unopposed for many offices. So that meant I had to skip and not vote for that office. That was truly disheartening. Decent people with a heart and conscience need to be running for every election ~ from the school board to the White House!

I literally get up Way Too Early--before the birds--and have MSNBC on in the background as I have breakfast and do my morning routine before setting out for work. This week, I've been boycotting MSNBC in the morning in favor of alternatives--like Jen Rubin! Mind you, I still like Ari, Joy, Rachel, Katie, Stephanie, and Lawrence--but I am frankly sickened by Mika and Joe obeying in advance, as they shamefully did. They showed their true color--yellow--and I have lost patience with them. Hopefully, they'll soon find their true audience--over at FOX--and free up that red-eye MSNBC timeslot for real journalists and progressives.

MSNBC is going to be a shell of itself soon. They were never very profitable (although they did make money), and now, without the support of Comcast, they will be dead in less than 10 years. These networks aren't needed anymore. Trump showed us that you can reach bigger audiences on TH-cam podcasts than anything those old networks can offer. Whether we like it or not, Joe Rogan has a larger audience across all platforms than the entire MSNBC network.

OMG! You are so right. MSNBC was reshuffling the same 3 things all day long with different hosts saying the same thing with the same guests and the same answers. I had it on all day. It was mu background noise. I started listening when Nicole was on and I was looking forward to Rachel and Lawrence but that is it. I completely went full cold turkey after the election. Election night and then turned off and never went back in. Apparently so did many of us. I am starting to slowly (now that I can think about politics again without stomach pain and nausea) build my own MSNBC with Yall's TH-cam channels. I have now 3 people in my rotation. All pleasant and not panicky. I will add more and I don't have to suffer through the same 3 stories without control.

He would have added a lot to what, as Jen said, is currently a lineup of constant rehashing and rotation of same panelists all singing in the same key. He's the fighter we need, who isn't afraid to call out the network for stuff like s$#tcanning Mehdi, Tiffany Cross, etc, when they rocked the boat too much. Rachel is the only one who has the gravitas to call stuff out, but why doesn't she? Keith kicks ass - maybe it's best for him to remain unshackled for us, and it's Rachel's, and MSNBC's loss.

The problem has been going on for decades. It has to do with age, men, and the way leftists like their news. Left-leaning podcasting exists but is not as popular as in centrist and right-wing circles. They kill in views and revenue. Just look at Joe Rogan. He's got a more significant reach than the entire CNN network!

I dumped corporate media a decade+ ago in favor of solid independent media, investigative journalism, you know, what journalism used to be. This coincided with the passage of Citizens' United in 2010, that effectively made bribing politicians legal. We've gradually devolved since. I place a lot of blame on the media for Trump's rise to power. CBS CEO Les Moonvies said it best: 'Trump's not good for the country, but he's sure good for CBS."
