    I'm a little bit late with a comment but very nicely done i have been reloading and making 22tcm case for over 8 years I'm still using up my first brass cases i had made over 6 thousands out of 5.56 if you ever make your own you need a 7/32 6 bladed reamer to ream the inside of the neck after sizing without the expanding ball then resize and load as normal also remove 25 thousands from the top of the number 4 shell holder to fully bump the neck shoulder back and they do make a tcm factory crimp die. I now almost only reload lee bator and lee 55gn rf cast powder coated bullets with 8.5 gns of lilgun or 300mp they are the same . My 55 rf tcm are 100 percent reliable at 1800 fps 1911a2 and 1660 out of the mapp tcm9r. The pre covid19 cost was 0.05 cents a round my 5.56 brass is free i still have over 14 k cases from 3 years of collection at the open shooting area 6 miles away from me. God i love Arizona. And Colorado.

      Very Nice! Do you ever have any extraction problems with the 223 case? You know the one thing RIA changed besides shortening and re-shouldering was the extractor groove , They cut a bevel on the case to make extraction better. Very nice job finding a reamer and a cast bullet that would work! I cant find the "22 Bater " mould on Mid Souths website. I hadn't considered going to a 55 grain. 40 grain is impossible to find other than RIA so far for me. I bought a 1200 pc case of pre primered 22TCM cases and I have TCM powder . I just haven't had luck with bullets since RIA hasn't had stock in many years now. Thanks for all your tips.

      Check out 5.56x24mm. It is a slight modification to the 22TCM case which will vastly improve your reliablity and allow you to use longer bullets.

    Thanks for the info on where to get suitable bullets. Most of the 40 grain bullets I have or found are too long and don't fit in the mag unless you seat them so deep on the ogive the case mouth is too proud. 10.0 grs Lil'Gun works great in the rifle too.

  • @fredstevens2361

    Thanks, Fausto. I figured my cost to reload 50 round box is about $9.57 assuming 5 reloads per case. Hornady cam lock trimmer works great for me, they all need it once, it seems. You're right - 10.0 gr. of Lil' gun is a nice load.

    • @DimaProk
      @DimaProk 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +wheeler90 From what I've read the problem with heavier bullets like 55 gr is that if you load them normally they will be too long to fit in to magazine and most likely to chamber too, seating too deep is another problem.

    • @chipinque5
      @chipinque5 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did reload some rounds with speer 218 bee bullets; it shoots fine but sometimes fails to feed in the chamber because of the flat nose.www.midwayusa.com/product/196704/speer-bullets-218-bee-224-diameter-46-grain-jacketed-flat-nose-box-of-100

    That finished round looked as if it could use a bit of crimp on the case. Comment?

    • @spmadeez
      @spmadeez  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes

    • @DaveSmith-cp5kj
      @DaveSmith-cp5kj 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You actually don't need a crimp since a proper load is basically a compressed load. So it can't fall into the case, and it is too light to drift forward. That said I do crimp since I believe it improves neck tension for precision purposes if you anneal.

    how much do you think it costs per round to reload 22tcm? do you think its cheaper to reload it on your own or send the brass back to rock island to have them reload it for you? i just got my 22tcm single stack and havent gotten to shoot it yet but hopefully i will soon.

    • @spmadeez
      @spmadeez  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      good question. ok. at $37.00 per 1lb of lil-gun. 15.00 for 500 primers, 50.00 for 500 bullets,100.00 for 500 Brass. its about 19.014 for 50 reloads. This is with new brass. If your load once fired, it's 9.14 for the same 50 reloads.

    • @DimaProk
      @DimaProk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Fausto Cepeda Yeah man, you definitely overpaying for powder and primers. I think I paid 24 dollars for a pound of Lil' Gun and primers I paid 20 bucks for a 1000 on sale at Cabela's (not Winchester though, they are overpriced) and I've seen even better prices on Tula primers. If you have access to .223 brass you can form your own cases and save money. I pickup brass where I shoot and got several thousands of .223 casings.

    The price per round isn't to bad, that is after you buy everything. I have one question, do you taper, roll or use no crimp? Great video, keep up the good work.

    • @spmadeez
      @spmadeez  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lee Greger No crimp. I have not been able to locate or even seen a taper/crimp die. However, with no crimp they do seat in very tight and I get factory velocities..so I'm ok with that.

  • @DimaProk

    99% of the people that shoot 22 TCM do it because of the FIREBALL. This is what makes it a fun round to shoot. Information on how to load it with a proper fireball would be more beneficial to us.
