If there's an Andy demo of a pedal it's always my first watch. In this case, I needed no convincing as I already have one on order and can't wait to get it.
You could buy an h9 core, max and midi controller all used and spend about $900. That would take up about 100 square feet on your pedalboard (and take several hours to set up) but you'd also have more presets depending on your midi controller. That's my pref
I'll get this expensive babe because of its flexibility, its horsepower, and its time-base effects and pitch shifters. Some of its modulation capability is great as well. Not convinced by the phasers and rotarys, though, and still not convinced at all by digital OD-distortion-fuzz. Great demo by Andy!
I hear complaints that this is too expensive. Given that Andy basically scratched the surface here, it seems the possibilities are endless with this thing.
It’s future proof. Will be forever useful. It’s not going to get any less expensive, but it’s probably going to get more and more pricey. If you want one and have the means, get one.
I am the guitarist in a Stoner/Space Rock band. I heard Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd in 8th grade and have been obsessed with Delay Pedals and the like since. I own a MXR Carbon Copy, a Line 6 Echo Park, a TC Electronics Flashback 2x4, a Boss DD-8, a Digitech Space Station, a Joyo Aquarius, and a Rowin Time Maker. Love them, but other the last few years the follow have come out: Meris LVX Hologram Microcosm Hologram Infinite Jets Empress EchoSystem Chase Bliss Mood v2 Red Panda Particle Dwarfcraft Grazer Drolo Stammen Free the Tone Motion Loop Walrus Lore Pigtronix Echolocation Strymon TimeLine Vongon Polyphrase Eventide H90 Boss DD-500 Universal Audio Starlight And on and on. The way the pedal world has gotten, I literally can’t afford a single one of those. I suppose I could sell a bunch of my delay pedals that I own, but I’m kinda resentful of the fact that in order to get effect tech from 5 years ago, I would have to sell a good handful of great pedals. It really genuinely bums me out. These new things cost as much as an actual amp or a fairly decent Fender guitar. I’m glad they exist, but it really is genuinely out of reach for a lot of working musicians I’m sure. Just more toys for the Blues Lawyers.
Seems fine to me. Big, good quality screen, nothing too unintuitive about the UI, plenty of controls, and a well integrated editor. If you want a nightmare interface go try to program a DX7 or something, this is a walk in the park compared to that.
It sounds very nice but for ~$100 more, why would we not simply buy a far more capable Fractal FM3 Turbo? I imagine the FM3 would cover 95% of these tones (at least) AND ALSO offer Cabs, Distortion, additional I/O, a PC editor and much, much more. To answer my own question, perhpas the H90 is a great studio unique tone creating "tool" for various instruments whereas the FM3 is much more guitar-centric. Both are good- get what works for you.
Tracking issues I hear. If you’re spending this much in digital processing I think it’s time to move to hexaphonic pickups and effects like the Boss SY series
Shame on reverb for for attempting to deceive us in the clearly scripted part of Andy’s opening segment to say that the H90 contains “Every” Classic Eventide Algorithm when when they should have had him make it perfectly clear that it only contains every Eventide “H9” algorithm (Which are definitely not the legit Classics but just watered down guitarist friendly pedal versions). Because then he goes on to say that the H90 even contains two of Eventides highest quality Rack version algorithms( which are actually the true Classics)- right after you just had him imply that it contains all of them and it made him look foolish. You obviously know these units better than him and understand there’s a significant difference so please cut the shit because it’s comes across as sneaky and deceptive and a credibility killer for those of us who know better.
@@klownaround5464 You cannot really go wrong with anything Eventide- They have the most amazing quality effects in the world so know you will always have the very best. The H90 is also amazing and everything they build will last forever. If you can get the H9 max cheap now then of course do it- But the H90 is even better in some ways and you will keep it forever.
What turns me off is needing a computer to tweak this to its full capability…. I want all of the knobs on top to control major parameters. No Computers!!! Buzzkill!!! Haha. Sorry!
If there's an Andy demo of a pedal it's always my first watch. In this case, I needed no convincing as I already have one on order and can't wait to get it.
Thank you AM / Reverb - love Andy's gift of being the ultimate demo ambassador. Also, at being the bball ref for Josh and Paul - cheers!
Andy is so amazing at making any sound from any pedal very useable! It's so great to watch!
Good to see you back in action, Cheers Andy
Welcome back man, we missed you! Happy you are ok!
Thanks so much, glad to be back!
I know how many hours you spent on this demo. Thankyou it sounds great. Love the new studio/ lighting.
17 seconds album... The CURE
4th pos pickup stratocaster through the "djentle clean" preset is aural bliss.
As always great demo!
I've had one on "Backorder" since November 18th, 2022. This helps me be patient, knowing it's worth the wait.
Much love Andy. Glad to see you again.
Glad to see you back!
Thank you!!!
I think it’s priced just right. The H90 is replacing the Space, ModFactor, two TimeFactors, and a PitchFactor on my pedal board.
Not a chance.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 true. I ended up keeping Space for the end of the signal chain.
Glad you are back!!

Just got this and waiting its arrival. Thanks for a nice review.

Excellent review. Such great stuff. The Eventide pedals.
You gave us all the good stuff to make an informed decision. Thank you.
"My Clean Tone"
hahaha classic Andy
;)
I hear complaints that this is too expensive. Given that Andy basically scratched the surface here, it seems the possibilities are endless with this thing.
It’s not expensive compared to what else is out there. I just think prices in general have sky rocketed and what people make has stayed the same.
It's cheaper than a used eclipse. My eclipse cost me 1200 USD
@G Sorry, not sure what your point is?
@G I was supposed to get that from your post lol? Also, how does that relate to my comment in any way?

So glad I got the LVX
Have to be a genius to dial this thing in. Sounds good
Or just under 30 yrs old........ I love deep DSP stuff, but my old eyes are having a harder time with tiny displays!!
Great studio pedal.
Andy is an excellent musician, that’s why he is so good at doing demos.
OMG after thousands of hours watching Andy I think I just heard his first bum note 4:28. He's human!
Or was it? Hmmmm?

Meris LVX
Hologram Microcosm
Hologram Infinite Jets
Empress EchoSystem
Chase Bliss Mood v2
Red Panda Particle

Drolo Stammen
Free the Tone Motion Loop
Walrus Lore
Pigtronix Echolocation
Strymon TimeLine
Vongon Polyphrase
Eventide H90

Okay, so A) cry more, and B) half the pedals you own sound better than this sterile new shit.
Eh not really, a lot of guys finance this shit, and most people I know have day jobs which allows them to pay for this stuff.
Best demo yet !
So, a nightmare. Its functionally a nightmare to use. Roger that, good video as always, Andy.

Is that a Nik Huber hanging in the background? Nice guitar!
The Godfather blesses us with his online presence.
He’s not kidding about that weed whacker. Was wondering what I wanted on the board with it. Still kinda wondering 😂😂.
Nice sound eventide
This thing costs more than my last three weddings.
Married 3 times explains the Ukraine support. Moron.
That thing could replace my huge pedalboard. But I'll need to sell a guitar to buy one! The old H9's are getting cheaper. I may add one to my madness.
Is there a recommended multiple pedal power supply for this H90?
The opening salvo sounds like The Cure.
Thanks andy
The Godfather knocks it out of the park again!
So cool.
I'm i hallucinating or his voice has some glitches in it? Like if it was timestretched
lol the My Clean Tone preset
What guitar Andy playing?
the h9 used to cost a testicle... this one cost both
Pale shelter action
Thanks for the demo, but…….option paralysis.
Saw another video where the guy started shredding on the Shoegazer preset. Completely missing the point of the preset.
🙈Waooo👏😉👍
shoegazer haircut
It's so bright and shiny... I probably don't like...

H90 is crazy on the studio, synths sound amazing through it. For me that's it's main selling point
@@DigiEvoluido If it works for you. Just seems very pricey.
@@MOAB-UT If you're solely a guitar player, there's no need to get it. But having one unit take care of my whole home studio mixing is amazing

Damn it has a glossy sheen. Unsure about that; too much of that shimmer-type candy coating on all the patches.
Honestly, it sounds like digital trash.
