    Summary:
    1. Acne due to hormonal imbalance is common along the jawline/ lower part of the face/ in the back. It's usually cystic in nature and may be painful to touch. Treatment begins with controlling the infection and inflammation through some oral and topical medications. In order to help the skin heal, hydration should be taken care of along with some oral anti-oxidant supplements.
    2. Gentle peels under a dermatologist's guidance work extremely well in cystic acne.
    3. Once the acne has subsided, a Q-switch laser can be used to fade PIH (Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) marks.
    4. Primary treatment of hirsutism (excess facial hair) is to bring the hormone levels under control with systemic treatment. Once that is achieved, one can opt for waxing (temporary solution) or laser hair reduction (number of sessions are highly subjective & do your research before approaching a centre)
    5. Acanthosis nigricans (dark patches in the body folds) is an indication of insulin resistance and needs systemic treatment for correction too. Do not rub/ scrub that area mistaking it for dirt. Topical Acid peels can help.
    6. Hair loss can be treated with a combination of amino acid blend with yeast and melatonin which will help the hair build itself and grow. Anti-androgen drugs (used to balance the hormones, acne and hirsutism) also has a positive effect. Hair oxygen relaxes the scalp and strengthens the hair.
    7. Skincare routine:
    -Cleanse: face washes with salicylic acid/ benzoyl peroxide/ tea tree for oily skin
    face washes with allantoin, chamomile for dry skin types
    -Moisturise: Water-based moisturiser with Hyaluronic acid for oily skin
    Healing ingredients (calming creams with a blue tinge) based moisturiser for dry skin.
    -Sunscreen- opt for physical sunscreen than chemical ones which can clog your pores making the acne worse (this will protect from sun damage but also prevent acne marks from worsening)
    - Repair: Topical treatments for acne may be an antibiotic/ anti-inflammatory/ Retin A precursor/ Benzoyl peroxide cream. Ask your doctor for the exact quantity to be used and the areas that need to be covered to prevent excess drying of the skin.

    Very nice information.. my blood test for pcod is ok (yah amh everything) but I have dark patches on forehead and hirutsim my doctor suggest me aldatone50 and btn ultra is this medicines are sufficient? Kindly help😊

    • @DrShashiRawat
      @DrShashiRawat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello!
      Aldactone blocks the effects of the male hormone, androgen. This reduces hirsutism as well as the dark patches (acanthosis nigricans). BTN ultra is a dietary supplement so it will be beneficial too.

    I have severe acne and hair loss for acne my dr suggested benzoyl peroxide gel but it's not really making any difference and even I have cut the sugar , processed food I exercise regularly... yet I get acne on day after other 😭 What should I do?

    • @DrShashiRawat
      @DrShashiRawat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, Akanksha! Some people don't respond well to benzoyl peroxide. To maintain a healthy skin barrier first, make sure to not strip your skin too much with drying products. So, use a gentle cleanser, oil free moisturiser and sunscreen. Other actives that may help are adapalene, salicylic acid and dapsone. Please, ask your doctor for these alternatives. Hope this helps.

    How to treat hairfall due to pcos?

    • @DrShashiRawat
      @DrShashiRawat  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sukriti Singh Hi! A combination of amino acids supplement and anti androgen drugs may help with hair loss in PCOS. But keeping the condition under control by a systemic treatment to regularise periods is key.
      Dr. Rashmi answers about this in detail from 11.10 onwards in the video.

    mam i have acanthosis suggest diet plzzz

    • @DrShashiRawat
      @DrShashiRawat  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Acanthosis could be a part of PCOD presentation. So making dietary changes will keep PCOD under check as well as control acanthosis. Please watch the nutrition video in our PCOS series: th-cam.com/video/gn0ZqxlcRq8/w-d-xo.html
      There is a sample diet plan at the end of the video too.
      You could also visit a good dermatologist and get ointments with azelaic acid prescribed. Depending on the severity, the doctor may even suggest acid peels that could benefit. All the best! 👍🏽😊
