      Yes helped me big time. 1 mg Fin . Minox foam under hot water making it a liquid and I use my dropper from my old old minox liquid solution, and use that to drop on my scalp while parting my hair into different sections so I get maximum absorption. Then I massage for a bit , I use Alma oil with water at night on my hair not scalp and atleast 90 minutes after minox application . I’m 43 and I’m back to a Norwood 1 at 41 I was heading into a Norwood 2 1/2. All my temples filled in great completely with great density!!! Also Massive density on my vertex .
      Fyi , I use a dermapen at 1.5-2 mg once a week , just did last night . I still use minox on that day before or afterwards. I use Bestqool red light and NIR panel for 20 minutes 3 times a week . 10 on front 5 on back and 5 on top of the head . It’s all so routine now just a great protocol I stuck with , my hair has even darkened, my hair is way better quality, just healthier!!! Thicker!! Also meditation is great for decreasing cortisol levels the stress hormone so anything you can do to lower stress will help as well and I’m a huge advocate for drinking a lot of water. If you do that for just one week a lot of water ALOT. You will notice a difference in hair quality just by that alone, promise . !! Also blood flow is crucial so again a great scalp massage while watching a show will work wonders! I work in construction as a contractor and I’m very busy …..trust me I know it seems like a lot but it’s really not once you get a routine . Another thing is pressure points on head google it. They are also under your fingernails ( sounds weird but google it) wish you all the luck !!

    Interesting what you said about some loss just being due to age. I started noticing my frontal hairline thinning in downlight about 2 years ago, at 38...now at 40 on fin for two years its about the same, only slightly worse. Wondering if the side effects from Fin are worth dealing with., or if I should just embrace being old...

    i’m 23 and i’ve had long hair which for work I tend to put up in a bun. i’m noticing thinning on the top of my hair and now I want to cut my hair to avoid going bald assuming it’s my bun that’s pulling all my hair out. if I cut it will it just grow back or should I cut it and go down the minoxidil path as well? I don’t have much baldness in my family apart from the age of like 40-50. only thing I can think is the bun is pulling it out or my diet is just that bad

    Basically everyone should take 0.5 mg dutasteride 1-2x a week as soon as they notice *any* hair loss compounded with LDOM to keep all hairs in the growth phase and shorten resting cycles. It costs $1/day (in the US) and you never experience hair loss nor sides. Extremely easy fix.

      Im on finastride for 45 days should i switch to dut 0.5 and use it twice a week?

    • @ARKAEA33
      @ARKAEA33 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd stay on finasteride for a few months first and then only do 1x 0.4-0.5 a week so that you don't have any real chance of sides when you switch, but yes I don't know why anyone does finasteride anymore given it doesn't have the same retention benefits and dutasteride has such a long half-life that you can microdose it with no greater side effects than finasteride either@@MHNDXGAMER

    • @KingRockets
      @KingRockets 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@devilstyle1161 That severe of a calorie restriction can worsen hair loss. The meds will help, but won't address any potential nutrient deficiencies that can be causing hair loss or the stress on your body from that low of calories (which can induce a shedding phase).
      1) Don't do as aggressive of a cut
      2) Improve your nutrient status (adequate protein, healthy fats, micronutrients, etc.)
      3) Get blood work done to monitor your health status

    Hi Dr. Jayaprakash and Dr. Knudsen. I just started taking a pill that contains 1mg Finasteride and 1.25mg minoxidil. I was told to take this pill daily, but in one of your videos you only recommend taking Finasteride three times a week. The problem is my pill contains both medicines. Would you recommend me taking this pill daily because of the minoxidil or would you still recommend that I take this pill 3 times a week?

    • @ParasChowhan
      @ParasChowhan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It depends on how well you can tolerate the side effects. If you don't see any adverse effects, then good, otherwise you can take the medications on alternate days. Also, it would be way cheaper to get separate pills for both.

    • @senpai1628
      @senpai1628 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Minoxidil has a short half life so it needs to be taken everyday for the results. Your solution should be to take minoxidil as a separate tablet. Finasteride can be taken EOD tho

    I have a question in regards to my hair loss. I have been taking oral minoxidil for 9 months. I have been taking finasteride for 18 months. Good news, I have been taking treatment for some time, Bad news, my hair loss started young and by 25 my crown was bad! I ignored it. In other words, I think even for me, I left it late. I didn't want to believe that my hair was falling out at 23.
    I think my results are peaking, and they are not that great. To start with I stuck with finasteride and hoped that I could be a super responder. Absolutely no differences and no regrowth, of course it's a blocker and not a stimulant however. I decided to use oral minoxidil 2.5 mg March 2023. At that point my bald patch was obviously still there and perhaps the finasteride was stopping it getting worse. I went though a depression phase where I believed the minoxidil was not working, so I went up to 5mg in August! Interestingly, recently I had some results but personally, I'm not sure what to make of it. My hair volume is still thin, and when my hair is wet it looks terrible! Like there is no progress! It could be just because my hair loss had already developed before treatments. It's very thin, but judging by the picture before it side by side, it was atrocious, now it's just bad. I will take that, I guess!
    What is going on here? Any experts? the mid scalp appears to be salvageable and maybe the hairs had not miniaturized that much. The crown, just maybe is very miniaturised. It's not great at all in my opinion, the results, but one doc said it was good. I'm trying to think now, that any progress is good, and without these medications god knows what my hair would be like. Is this a fair clinical result? I don't know the science, but the mid scalp looks like it could be saved, just! I don't expert miracles from here. I personally believe it is peaking. Even if I still need concealer spray and stuff, as long as the meds are doing something deep down, I don't mind. Maybe I should focus on keeping what I have, the picture on the left was at 25. I'm still unsure however, and the volume may never be what it was? I guess they explain in the video that the first thing to go is the diameter and mine went ages ago! I am now considering switching to dutasteride as it's stronger.

      There appears to be clear improvement, so whatever you're doing, keep doing it, even if you think results have peaked. I would say my midscalp is at least as thin, but more extensive in area. I use a concealer and although nothing is as good as natural hair, you appear comfortable using concealers, so why not? I started with fibers then to Dermmatch as thinning progressed. It needs surprisingly little hair to give convincing* results and, very importantly because of where I live, if I lock it in with a maximum strength hair spray it completely resists pouring rain. I have no affiliation with Dermmatch btw, just a consumer. In summary, I would continue with optimal meds and optimal concealer - that's what I do. Best of luck to you.
      (* everyone's definition of convincing seems to differ).

    I had a urologist once tell me that finasteride doesn't thicken hair shafts or promote the growth of new hair, but that it instead only lengthens the growing phase of existing hairs to make it LOOK like you're growing new hair. Is this true?

    • @senpai1628
      @senpai1628 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Completely wrong. Finasteride binds to alpha reductase enzyme so that it doesn't convert testosterone into that notorious DHT responsible for hair loss. Sad to see doctors out of their depths

      The results are nothing short of amazing. Hair has stopped thinning with solid regrowth, i would put at around 80% to date.
