D-18 is incredible. I have a 2014 that sounds fantastic. Bought for just $1,500 at the Dallas Guitar show in 2016.
Thanks for sharing!
I have a D-18 Authentic 1939 Aged (with the metal T-bar truss rod) and it is just below 4 pounds in weight. So, I can see how a 1944 would be lighter than that.
The 1944 would be lighter only just. Those new aged D-18A are light and resonant, very nice guitar!
HOW MUCH FOR SALE?
Sold, sorry! Gone to a studio in LA!
how much sold? man I am interested in purchasing one from 1944 with scollepted braces
It’s lighter probably because they used ebony rod in the neck instead of a steel rod. All war time martins have that feature due to metal rationing
Yes, much lighter with the ebony rod, but also the back and sides did seem to be lighter than the 1937 we have, interesting!
