  • Taking the Eurostar train service for the first time from St Pancras Station, London to Disneyland Paris.
    During January there isn’t a direct service to Disneyland Paris itself so we take the Eurostar to Lille and transfer to the the SNCF train service from Lille to Marne-la-Vallée.
    Marne-la-Vallée is the station at the entrance to Disneyland. We were staying at the Hôtel l'Élysée Val d’Europe which is one stop away on the local RER train service and only takes 5-minutes.
    We would definitely try the Eurostar train service again as we did find it less stressful than flying and there is no fuss with baggage allowances and liquids etc.

    I love going by train as at least you get to see a bit of the countryside, you can even walk around, eat and its much more spacious than being in a plane, car or bus.

      They are two good little parks, Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland and are right next to each other (think of the size and layout of Universal, Orlando). Good for a 2 or 3-day trip. We got the last weekend of the Christmas decorations and events.

    *BREAKING NEWS*
    EUROSTAR is permanently cancelling the route: London to Disney. If you like to go, you need to book, go and return BEFORE 5 June 2023. No more trains after that.
    There are a few alternative train routes, but all of them include at least one change in France, and the least inconvenient is Eurostar to Lille and then change to a French TGV train straight to Disney. However, remember that if you are teavelling with kids you will need to get all of your stuff off in Lille, and then back onto another train, and the same thing back. This take away the convenience of getting on in London and then not get off until Disney.
    From my own experience: don't change trains in Paris, if you are going to Disney. That include a change of train stations as well as getting on and off the Underground... a real nightmare!!!

    I absolutely love Eurostar trains, especially when travelling to Disneyland Resort Paris with family or friends. Aswell especially when its a direct train, but then again, even if it is indirect, probs still the same? Slightly different, nice video by the way. Really enjoyed the watch, its good seeing videos like this aswell peoples different experiences, never stayed offsite which I hope to one day do, always and every time visited stayed onsite in the Disney hotels, really expensive but worth it. Really is the happiest place on Earth currently in my opinion. Have both Liked & Subscribed & look forward to seeing more videos like this in the future. 😀👍

    • @WorldHeritageJourney
      @WorldHeritageJourney 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Worse actually - the train just terminated at a tiny hamlet halfway between Turin and Genoa! And of course nobody can explain what's going on. All the locals rolled their eyes and smoked cigarettes on the platform for about 2 hours before another train turned up and off we went again!

    How similar is check in and security at St Pancras vs any airport?
    Do you need a passport?
    Are you guys from Swansea?

    • @flydriveexplore
      @flydriveexplore  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The security is similar but you don't have the luggage restrictions and you can take liquids and bottles etc. You do need a passport as you go through two checks, UK border and then by a French border officer (one after the other), but then, when you get off the train in France, you simply get off the train, there are no arrival checks.
      We are not from Swansea but not a million miles away.

      G.M. D I understand I am late but just some tips from an 11 going on 12 year old (me). I did Eurostar on my 9th birthday and I was smart enough to bring toiletries in a carry on bag like hand sanitiser and mouth spray which were quite handy for me since I eat a few bits on a long train, hand sanitiser to clean my hands and mouth spray so the food didn’t stick into my teeth. Buy some wet wipes when you are at the station, they are quite cheap. Also, bring a book or something to do.
      When you board the train, if you have children, sometimes you tell them that the train will be a long way, why not plan a little routine before your journey. Once you arrive, the only thing you will want to do is get through the security quickly, the people at security have all dealt with that one disrespectful person, be polite and they might give you some sneaky fast passes. Also when you arrive, the motel that my family stayed in was not very big nor tidied properly, we did not complain at all but we had to go and buy some wipes and house cleanser, we felt that they already provided us nicely so we cleaned it ourselves. Hope you got a few tips, thanks.
      Lillie xxx

      Clean station, plenty of signs and there were people to ask. We had to double check just to make sure but our change wasn't a rush and should be OK with a family. There are trains that go straight to Disney but only during the school holiday and peak periods.
