  • This loom knit hat tutorial is perfect for a beginner!
You will need to know how to do do the e-wrap, u-wrap, and purl stitches. If you don't, no worries. You can refer to my practice tutorials to familiarize yourself with these easy stitches!
***Before beginning this project, I recommend watching the whole way through.***
    Supplies you will need:
-41 Peg large gauge knitting loom
    -Needle tool (yarn hook)
    -Yarn needle
-#6 Bulky yarn (I got away with using 87 yards but I would advise you expect to use at least 90 yards for this project. If you like a slouchier style hat, you may want to plan to have a few more yards.)
    -Scissors
    Optional but recommended:
-Stitch markers (You can also use mini children's hair elastics instead)
-Row counter or paper and pen to keep track of your stitches/rows.

This hat looks amazing! How about a matching scarf tutorial?

In this video, I accidentally call the cast-on the "e-wrap cast on." I meant to explain that the first row of the cast-on is an e-wrap, followed by the u-wrap to finish the cast on.

I like to look knit but haven't done it much. Thanks for the easy tutorial. You explained it well.
I would like to see more tutorials on all things made on looms. I've heard of people making amigurumi on looms.

I have just started exploring amigurumi on the loom. It's definitely something I want to continue doing!!

Wow I’ve never seen anyone do that final step on the brim of taking out the slack but that’s a great idea. I prefer a hat that isn’t doubled over on the brim but I don’t know how to make the edge lay flat and tight this may be the solution I needed. Thanks

It's pretty simple but there is a little bit of a learning curve....at least for me. Obviously I still get a little tangled up sometimes. Just have to take your time. My problem with this one in particular was that I got the fibers of my yarn a little tangled in my cast on row. So definitely be mindful of making sure your cast on is good.

Fantastic tutorial! How about matching mittens to go with the hat & scarf (as mentioned by mona norfleet below)? Thanks so much for sharing 💗

Can I use 2 strands of #4 yarn or will the hat be loose

I haven't done that myself with this pattern but I don't see it being a problem. I would personally do it without and fear of it being loose.

Not sure this is a beginner tutorial . I just learned loom knitting and for sure this wasn’t the easiest way for learning as there are so many different rows with the e wrap , u wrap , Pearl , garter etc .
There’s much easier ways to make hats that look almost the same .
Good video but definitely not a beginner one in my opinion

This has to be the most rediculous contraption ever devised! Learn to knit or crochet, it's a lot simpler and quicker!
