  • If you make or purchase foundation without crimp wire, wiring your frame will give the foundation the support that it needs when handling your frame. Brushy Mountain Bee Farm goes through the process of wiring your frame and weaving your foundation into place.

I would just use the frames with the wiring and forget about adding the wax foundation. My bees make their own foundation, with the wires helping to support their combs.

Great instructional video. Is it necessary to cross wire all frames, including the brood chamber and supers?

Use 4 wire anchor nails. Will cut your wire threading time by 2/3.

You need to use a lapel mic.

Bought your crimper from a local farm supply store. I cannot get it to crimp at all. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The barrels don't roll when the wire passes through them. Are they supposed to?

You should have used a converted forming board to wire the frame. You are definitely doing it the hard way but still right. It's the poor man's way to do it. There are faster ways to do this. But you kept it cheap for the beekeeper who doesn't want to spend another 70 dollars for the other equipment.

Y'all are unclear on the concept. What you've got here is an expert, showing how a thing is actually done. You've spent so long watching influencers with nothing to say and no skills that you mistakenly thought first, that production values are more important than actual content, second, that you're qualified to critique because you once saw someone else do it a different way, and third, that this fine gentleman, or anybody else on Al Gore's intrawebs, cares about your input. Watch, learn what you can, move on.

Nice instruction video, but with serious production problems. You need to get a wireless lapel mic. You are in an acoustical echo chamber trying to speak loudly enough for the camera mic. Worse, you have a woman with an especially irritating voice in the background competing with you. Eliminate those two problems and you will have an excellent video!!!
